Wilhelm Wundt

There is some dispute about whether Wundt or William James was the first to establish an experimental lab.

In 1875, [William James] taught his first course in psychology, or “physiological psychology,” a la Wundt, and established a demonstration laboratory -- the same year Wundt established his at Leipzig.

According to Jacques Barzun--From Dawn to Decadence--James was first.

James was the first with a psychology lab.

Wundt, on the other hand, had been doing experimental psychology, though not always calling it by that name, since around 1860.

Many of the early publications in experimental psych are behind a language barrier now. It's unlikely that much more will be translated from the German, after all this time.
