Democritus, the laughing philosopher

Alas, Philosophy took a bad turn in Athens when Plato chose to ignore Luccippus and Democritus. Plato even wished the books of Democritus burned. Democritus marked out the path that would eventually become real honest to goodness science AND he was an excellent mathematician which most philosopher were NOT. If philosophy had followed the lead of the Abderan, real honest to goodness science would not have been held up for 1500 years.

If RIchard Feynman and Democritus should meet in the Hereafter, I am sure that will sit down and play the bong drums and have a good laugh together. Archimedes will bring his lute. What a jam that would be!
