I can't recall. I looked through the content and it looks like there is a lot of stuff deleted. It's not there and I know I didn't delete it. Back then, I didn't have a policy about blocking the deletion of posts after a few days. 

I remember him getting really nasty and prolific. And outraged after I moderated him.

I mentioned him in a post not too long ago:

The mess these people caused and the sheer amount of attention they required from me to keep readers from exiting en masse is what I was trying to avoid. They aren't the only ones, either. 

Later a lot of people left because of my pro-Trump position, but many still read OL. (I see the signs...  )

I'm not the only one who remembers the nastiness of this dude, though.

And the new screen has the country of Moldova as my place of residence. Weird. I just tried it again. Maybe I will try it without letting the system prefill my info. Peter

I tiredly tried again and it flipped back to the screen with Moldova as my country but I plowed on and suddenly the amount with a comma switched over to an amount with a decimal point. I deliberated did not prefill the info boxes though hints were offered and my donation went through. Peter

That sounds like a virus or something hijacking your computer.

It might not be, but it's worth looking into.

As a matter of fact, I did. I was going to send you a thank you this afternoon. Did the return email come from OL or Paypal? If it came from Paypal, I have no way of controlling that, which is why I always send thanks in person. (Besides, it's cooler that way.  )

So thank you here. but I am going to thank you there, too, just because.

I received your email about the donation in my inbox. But Michael I have received no new emails from OL since Wed. or Thurs. Yet when I go to OL, log on and browse unread content there are messages that should have been sent to my inbox. Please fix this. I will be on screen for a while so please respond.

OK. For instance I just checked my email and I have no problems. Yet I have received no new email from OL other than one from you. AND I did not receive your most recent message in my inbox. I am reading it onsite. There were a bunch of messages on the Aesthetics thread and I got none of them.

According to the internal controls on the OL backend, everything is in order. You should be getting emails.

Did you check your spam folder? Do you know what a spam folder is? How do you receive your emails, directly online at Hotmail or downloaded to your computer through Outlook or Thunderbird or some email client like that?

I don't understand this. 

Can you describe it so I can visualize what you are doing clearer? If it's a bug and not just a problem of clearing cookies or something, I'll submit a support ticket.

Here's one idea to try. Sometimes if you start to post a comment, but decide not to, the editor remembers the content you already typed (or copy/pasted into it). See if your editor has old content in it when you go to the Trump thread. And if you can't delete it for some reason, switch to Source view (the Source button is on the upper left of the editor) and delete the code. I'm not saying that is your problem, but it's worth a try.

This is not from the OL end. I have some beefs with IPB, but security is not one of them. Nowadays, there are retargeting cookies on your computer and all kinds of things from normal browsing. Each new feature represents a new vulnerability. So what happened to you can happen from any site.

NEVER click on a link on a page like you did. But I do what you did when a page like that appears. I've even seen this kind of nagging attack visiting an Amazon site.
