Is Peikoff still alive? Binswanker?
I'm not seeing much of anything left online other than OL, including social media.

It's been another two years. It appears that little is left of the O-world online. Is Pigero still alive? His site isn't. Have all of the sneering nerd twats moved to any specific social media group shit hole?

I think that this was a hasty decision. They didn’t establish that Vermeer himself didn’t paint over the Cupid in his later years, but only that they felt that it was “unlikely” that he did.

A surgical-grade mask will do nothing to protect (the vaccinated) you or others if the others and you are nowhere near an outbreak. In my health region there have been two outbreaks this week (in a White Rock and a Delta long-term care home).
Since the province-wide mask order was dropped, folks in my city may or may not be masked in indoor public spaces. Store clerks and waiters and so on may or may not be masked. Life has essentially returned to normal or near-normal.
As for masks in areas of a particular uncontained outbreak (as happened in the Interior Health Region), personal prudence will likely depend on the specifics of the outbreak and the individual's risk category.
As for masks, all supposedly prophylactic masks are not alike. The best at preventing aerosolization of expectoration droplets seem to be the N95 and surgical grade.
Yeah. Depending on the local situation you find yourself in -- and your vaccination status, what would be the point?
Behind our property is a looming senior-majority complex. As might be imagined, there are hundreds of dogs needing walks. We call these dogged folks "The Walkers." All the walkers must use our sidewalk to get to the nearby parkland, and it has been interesting to estimate the number of vaccinated folks over the months of 2021. When once every walker was masked, now only maybe one out of a hundred sport the barrier.
When you are next near the coast, do drop in on me and the fam, Jules. No masks allowed!
It's a good thing that we can't catch viruses that sneak out the sides of unsealed masks, but only from particles which move forward from our mouths and noses. Otherwise we'd have to take that side leakage into consideration, and maybe even aim our cameras at it, instead of making very sure to avoid recording and showing any of that.

Has anyone read any good libertarian perspectives on the autonomous zones? I really haven't heard peep out of libertarians lately. But I'm curious to see what some might think about the zones.

Don't be a snob. Canned octupus is also yummy and can be heated to taste on the stove. Spanish peasants love it.
As long as it's a substitute for ice cream, I will lap it up.

My guess was that privileged Bill had dessert on the side.
Apparently Bill's hanging out with Epstein (who didn't kill himself) was a trigger.

You're the first person to tell me this. After some unfruitful research, I don't know if she actually called him that.
She didn't.
Peikoff is an intellectual turd.
He was nothing but Rand's last resort, after everyone of any talent and ability had left her.
He has done more damage to Rand's brand than any 20 other people.

From Bloomberg, a tale of three cities:
World's Worst Covid Crisis Is Unfolding in Brazil, Where No Fix Seems to Work
Have they tried placing sick elderly patients in congregated living facilities? Have they tried giving Bolsonaro an Emmy? I bet that that would work. Have the tried handcuffing and arresting children who are one day older than being excused from wearing masks?

Peter,
Be careful with leftwing propaganda. You sometimes present it as fact, or grant it equivalence to fact by comparing both as if they were the same thing (fair and balanced, right?).
Be careful is right. Peter himself is a white nationalist white supremacist Nazi by the woke left's standards.

Vin Diesel is Italian, who knew, I thought he was related to Schwarzenegger , and isn!t Ferrigno dead? not that there is anything wrong with that.
DiCaprio looks too northern Italian, a Torino when you need a, you know,Vespa scooter or something. I will go with Danza to show he still has acting chops after his cruel tratment t by that dominatrix Angela.

I'm wondering what kind of "lame duck" scorched Earth stuff Trump will be willing to pull prior to leaving office. Obviously there are some interesting potential pardons, but what about other maneuvers, declassifications, releases, etc.? Will he go out with a bang?

William,
Oh no! There goes the election for Trump.
The same place where the building plans for the wall were when there was gobs of obstruction.
I trust nobody thinks the wall isn't being built these days.
Back during the nonstop obstruction, they said it couldn't happen because Trump didn't even have a plan.
Michael
And, tee hee hee, also notice that stupid old poopy Drumph doesn't have a Five-Year Plan, the dolt! No plan for how many tractors we must make or how many bushels of beans we must grow. No quotas for factory production, no mandates of purchases. No details on the collectivization of agriculture. No strategy for universally adopting Lysenkoist Lamarkism. Not even a structural system of gulags in which to punish opponents. But yet he wants to be the leader despite not doing any of these things that leaders are supposed to do. What an idiot!

Welker did okay. She seems to have tried, at least, to somewhat control her biases or keep them beneath the surface for most of the time. I did laugh a few times at the rushing to get to the next topic. No more time to talk about this silly issue, let's more along now, oh, wait, Joe wanted to add something? Okay thirty more seconds and then we really must get to the very important question that I wanted to ask rather than staying with this one which destroys Biden...

William,
Thanks for the deeper dive...
Could someone please give a shallower dive? Something that gets to the damed point? What is their gripe? I mean other than that they heard that someone reported that an anonymous source claimed that Orange Man said bad things about soldiers or anyone else, and these guys decided to believe it? I see that the left's press loves these guys, and they seem to enjoy praising themselves as being brave and principle saviors, but what real things are they bravely saving us all from? What's the substance?
Thanks in advance,
J

True. There are probably about 15 to 20 more "October surprise" fizzles against Trump to come. The trend seems to be that they're fizzling faster and faster.
