RidleyReport
So, what do you think? Is he right? Or should vessels that dock in Massachusetts have to face the state's draconian gun laws, traveling the whole world unarmed?

RidleyReport
Overall I think he's only 98% right lol,I worry Rand is already abandoning too many liberty positions though...that will get out of control I fear once he has power. Sigh.

If you don't have guns on board, you can't shoot pirates when they attack you.Michael

If you don't have guns on board, you can't shoot pirates when they attack you.MichaelWhy not pay security guards and stimulate the economy?Depends. Aside from the decrease in freedom and increase in government regulation, there is another reason. It costs the boat money to hire the security guards, so the money spent on security now can't spent on a new suit, tie, or car for the crew. In this way, spending on security doesn't stimulate the economy, it just changes the direction of cash flow from crew goods to crew security. If instead the money is saved in banks, then it gets re-invested into the economy and is used to produce new goods and jobs, which in turn does stimulate the economy. RidleyReport
If governments didn't harass people at ports for having guns piracy would be a lot harder.
RidleyReport
Apparently some guys on one of the other forums who saw this video got together and started looking at boats to see if forming a privateer might be doable... Probably nothing came of it but who knows?

equality72521
If someone had the money and built docks in international water ships could off load their guns and then pick them back up.
