tjohnson
The Barber paradox is just an illustration for the layman of Russell's paradox, and it has all the disadavantages of using imprecise layman's terms. Russel's paradox is not trivial and is not about semantics. See for example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell's_paradox .It is not trivial in mathematics but it is in the case of barbers shaving themselves. tjohnson
3 people check into a hotel and the clerk charges them $30. Later on he decides he shouyld have charged $25 so he gives the bellboy $5 to give to them. The bellboy pockets $2 and gives them $1 each, so they each paid $9 for the room. 3x$9=$27 and the bellboy has $2=$29. Where's the other dollar? See, it does matter how you say things. They didn't pay $27 "for the room". If the clerk were asked how much they paid, he would correctly respond $25. They paid $25 for the room and a $2 "tip" to the bellboy. It's the same result as if the bellboy had returned $5, then the men gave him a $2 tip.
Brant Gaede
Remember they paid 25 for the room, 2 to bugger the bellboy and had 3 left over.--Brant

The whole "healthcare" concept is a crock of shit in every country. But feel free to obsess about it.
