Michael Stuart Kelly
Here is a cute recipe I came across on Trent Hamm's The Simple Dollar site (see here) that can also save money. Here’s that hot chocolate powder mix recipe that you’ve clamored for. I get a large bowl and put five cups of dry milk, a quarter cup of powdered sugar, and a third of a cup of powdered dairy creamer. I then get a pound of dark chocolate (a couple bars of Hershey’s Dark will suffice), then grate it into a powder using a box grater (you might want to use a blender or something). I pour in the chocolate powder, mix it all up until it’s consistent, and put it in a jar. It takes about fifteen minutes or so.What I like about this is that, in addition to being cheaper, you can replace sugar with sweetener for diets, use unsweetened cocoa powder, add other ingredients so you will always have your favorite blend, change quantities, etc. This is a recipe to get you thinking in all kinds of directions.Michael
