~ Re your 'interlocuter', if he thinks free-will/volition is needed to be 'proved' to him by you, all I can say is: you'll never be able to 'prove' to one that they have the capability for anything. Only they can 'prove' such to themselves, such as whether or not they can bench-press 'X' pounds...someday.
