Wow, Angie! Dude, did you feel awkward when he was singing to you? I totally would. Can't believe your friend dated the lead singer of RHCP. Pretty cool shit. I remember hearing Roseanne Barr talk about him on a talk show. She said that she called his answering machine and spoke in a british accent saying that she was pregnant with his baby. Then she said she talked to him later on and his girlfriend had broken up with him because of it. Could be complete crap, but still funny. Roseanne Barr doing a british accent? Yeah right.

No, she wasn't a groupie but can tell you many stories of some of the things that went on with them...YIKES. At any rate, she had a friend that knew one of the members of the band and it went from there for her, although the first time she met him was backstage at one of their concerts. This is when they were becoming well known, many years ago. For me, knew quite a few people when I was younger that had some type of foot in the music industry, nothing major. Plus my being involved in another industry but also nothing major but was exposed to different people involved in music in some way or another. Spent many nights watching jam sessions, etc. Plus had a few close friends in bands, etc., then.

No, I haven't seen their performance where they are butt naked but I can imagine what that must have looked like....LOL hell, they should have put on some glow in the dark condoms and turned off all the lights while jumping around making asses of themselves on stage. :lol:

Yes, they have glow in the dark condoms. They're to die for and totally comical. If I am remembering correctly, maybe not though, there was an old Pink Panther movie where some guy donned the glowies. And in the bedroom scene, they turned the lights off while he was running around the room and it was just too freakin' much. I was laughing so hard I started crying. Re The Monkees, I wonder how many know that "A Little Bit Me, a Little Bit You" was written by Neil Diamond?

It's a great song. The Monkees had top-notch material offered to them. Two others that impress me as a songwriter are:

"Shades of Grey" (they were thrilled to be given this masterpiece!)

"Look Out, Here Comes Tomorrow" (written by Neil Diamond--a gem, pun intended)

I advise that you listen to the records, though, not any other version or live performance, which may not be as effective.
