Just to be fair, here is the link to the Biden Town Hall. The shindig starts about 1:01:35.

Watch ABC News Joe Biden Town Hall in Philadelphia Moderated by George Stephanopoulos

I didn't embed it on OL because YouTube does not allow that for this video and, I did search, but I did not find a replacement for the full town hall during that time.

Besides, there's this.

I'm not going to watch that sucker anyway. I have a life...

OMG.

LOLOLOLOL...

This is the ultimate in trolling.

President Trump just tweeted about a Babylon Bee article as if it were true.

Right now, at this very moment, there is a HUGE number of lefties and anti-Trump elitists crowing gotcha--and crowing gotcha to the stars with all their lungs can muster--as they spread the news to their audiences about Biden having bad news to spread and the social media giants censoring things.

LOL...

:)

This has to be one of President Trump's classics of all time.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Sometimes this is just the way this stuff happens.

This is wonderful.

The creative Babylon Bee folks joined in...

LOL...

That sucking sound you hear is the collective gasping from all the anti-Trump gotchas out there...

  :)

Meanwhile the audience grows for both the Babylon Bee and President Trump's spotlight on Biden and tech giant monkeyshines.

Interesting headlines. Biden Family financial enterprise ties to foreign entities signal Presidential candidate unfit for President.

I heard Tucker comment, "never" have we seen the likes of this and Completely believable."

I thought, yes we have. '16 is in the rear view window but the potential for an outcome then of a sitting Presidents conviction was narrowly avoided not by evidence or a finding of truth but by a couple of votes. Again, not by a finding through a preponderance of evidence but virtual party line vote.

Stories are sown through Psy Ops. Both the Russia/Trump and the Biden/China/Ukraine/Russia links have elements of truth layered with a common sense appeal that lead to discovery or debunking by the distorted views of voters, political savants and ignoramuses alike who don't possess the means to find truth or justice.

We've seen this before. Now Biden is in the cross hairs though ordinary Dems are unlikely to hear the story that underlies his corruption cause MSM won't print it. I've observed Republicans going hard after him the same way Dems did with Trump.

"Oh, but the the campaign doesn't deny it." PROOF!! Com'on, Biden won't allow credence for Rep theories.

If Biden does win I'll see him as the diminished/impaired Manchurian Candidate who forgot who his handlers are and everything of importance involving his financial links swept aside while bloggers try to make hay out of. But Reps, if they keep or add to the Senate and/or House will have the means to impeach Biden. Would they dare open the door for Kommie Harris? Stay tuned.

I apologize if anyone has answered this one already. This is an often repeated thought but Biden is soon going to be 78 years old and Trump is 74 years old.

What does anyone think will happen if Joe Biden or President Trump become incapacitated between now and the election or if they win the election and then become incapacitated? Will their Vice Presidential choices continue to run? Do they there after move into the Presidency?

On my ballot the voter must fill in ONE oval each that clearly states Trump for President and Pence for Vice President or Biden for President and Harris for Vice President. Any ideas if incapacitation does happen?

Oh, and I am editing this to add the following not so bad news.

There is a lot of speculation in the following but it makes the world seem a better place. Signing off, this is Captain James T. Quirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Some excerpts from The American Spectator: . . . . Are October 2020 polls that purport to show former Vice President Biden ahead of President Trump significantly different than the mid-October 2016 surveys that indicated Hillary Clinton had all but won the election? The most obvious symptom of this intransigence is their refusal to consider the possibility that their models should contain some mechanism to account for the “shy Trump voter.” . . . . Shy Trump voters are, by definition, hidden. Many are people who rarely answer calls or texts from numbers they don’t recognize. These voters are very real but quite invisible to pollsters. Some shy Trump voters are willing to participate in some public opinion surveys, yet remain reluctant to level with pollsters . . . . Are October 2020 polls that purport to show former Vice President Biden ahead of President Trump significantly different than the mid-October 2016 surveys that indicated Hillary Clinton had all but won the election? For the comparable polls, there is little difference. The NBC/WSJ poll, for example, had Clinton up by 11 points on October 10, 2016. The NBC/WSJ poll showed Biden up by 11 points on October 12, 2020. Clinton was up by double digits in five polls between October 9 and October 16 of 2016. Biden has been up by double digits six times during the same seven-day period this year. At about this point in October 2016 Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers began their fatal decline . . . They are enjoying expected mail-in leads in other battleground states, like North Carolina, but they always do. In 2016, Clinton had a seven-point lead in North Carolina on October 25, but Trump won the state by more than 3 percent on Election Day. In Florida and Pennsylvania, it was closer but the story was much the same. In the end, the pollsters are clueless and the “experts” are wrong on shy voters. All that matters is who shows up, and early Rust Belt turnout suggests another Trump victory.

This isn't a celebrity by a lot of people's standards, but he does represent a certain demographic, along with the crowd... I was surprised to see this, because I would have assumed he was anti-Trump. I was also surprised by how one sided the reactions were.

Friday, October 16, 2020. The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday, shows that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove . . . .

And today Sunday October 18, 2020, the Real Clear Politics poll for all states show Biden with a 5 percent lead over Trump, and a 1.4 percent lead in both Florida and Georgia. The RCP no toss up Senate map has Republicans with 53 seats and Democrats ending up with 47.

And RCP had this headline. With Delayed Election Tally Likely, Both Sides Gird for Battle By Philip Wegmann - RCP Staff

It is less than 3 weeks until the election and things are closing up, and that is not counting the “shy” Trump voters . . . . as it gets closer to the election people are beginning to wonder, “When will we know the official results? Any suggestions on a date if not the night of November 3rd  or the next day of November 4, 2020? My wife dropped off our ballots at a drop box which is under surveillance and emptied twice a day they say, but there was no one standing next to it. Peter

Notes.  “If they use mail-in ballots,” Trump told RealClearPolitics last week in an Oval Office interview, “this will be the most fraudulent and rigged election in the history of our country.” Here the president paused to make a distinction. There are absentee ballots, which he used to vote first in New York and later in Florida. He says those are “okay.” Then there are the other mail-in ballots, the ones that the president complains are sent out indiscriminately and without additional security. “When you mail out millions of ballots,” he said, “and then think that you are going to get them back -- honestly, you’re either very stupid, very naive, or you want the election to be a result, and you think that’s going to be the best way to get there.”

One of the favorite propaganda tricks of both political sides is to "control the narrative."

This narrative is what I call a "core story," but in the case of news, it is a short-term core story.

The anti-Trump elitist left loves this technique more than the Trump-right. I mean, both do it, but the left has gone so whole hog into it, there are people on their side in large numbers who literally believe stories that are completely disconnected from reality and debunked by just looking.

For example, they believe President Trump said Nazis are fine people, they still believe the Russians elected Trump in 2016, and on and on. The people I am talking about are not the leaders and behavior engineers. These assholes know this stuff is untrue and they're just spinning it. I'm talking about the masses who listen to the "controlled narrative" and believe it as told because they believe in the storytellers.

The Gullible and the Others Listening

And here we come to one of the biiiiiiiiig problems. There will always be people who believe in a story right off the bat. My own personality bends this way--I'm not nearly as gullible as I used to be, but boy did I use to be. :)

This means, for these types to be on board, you can tell them anything. They trust you so, for them, the story is real. End of story.

But there is a price if you want to manipulate them so bad that you go overboard in distancing words from reality and repeat one after another after another with no connection to reality other than a few surface details.

The price is that other people are listening, too. And after a while, as the bullshit starts piling up, they smell the stench. And then they react.

The Rant

Take this young woman. It looks like the anti-Trump elitists lost an entire generation--the one right behind the Millennials--because this young woman is not the exception. There are oodles of people in her demographic all over the place who are just like her.

She is a perfect example of what happens when a "control the narrative" process gets overreached and goes haywire. And she expresses it better in this little one minute video than all the blah blah blah floating around.

If you’re liberal, can’t stand Trump and fathom why people will vote for him - this is why

Talking to anti-Trump elitists (and, I believe, emphasizing SJW Millennials), she says, "We can't stand you."

In other words, it's personal. And it's you.

Ah... I was going to explain, but I might as well. :) Google gives an AI generated transcript, so all I have to do is clean it up. Here is is in all it's glory.

Quote

If you are liberal and can't stand Trump, and can't possibly fathom why anyone would want to vote for him, let me fill you in.

We can't stand you.

You've done everything in your power to try and destroy this country by tearing down our police, our borders, our history, systematically destroying our schools and brainwashing our kids into thinking that socialism is the answer to everything, demonizing religion and faith, and glorifying abortion, violence and thug culture, from calling us racist to expecting everyone of every color to follow our laws, to ridiculing us for having the audacity to wish someone a Merry Christmas, or hang a flag on the Fourth of July, or stand for our National Anthem, or--Oh! The horror!--wear a MAGA hat out in public.

So much for your tolerance.

We are voting for Trump, not because he's the most charming character on the block, but because we vote policy over personality. And we are sick and tired of your divisive and destructive and ignorant and intolerant behavior and beliefs parading around as some kind of wokeness.

We are voting for Trump because of you.

How's that for a "control the narrative" fail?

That's about as fucked up as one can fuck up controlling the narrative.

:)

I don't think they are a mirror image of the right. You're looking at it as if they have this structure of beliefs all supporting one another. That they believe the narrative so much that it is nearly impossible to weaken the structure, but once you do, it will come toppling down. I don't think this is accurate. I don't think their beliefs are necessarily connected, and I definitely don't think they support any weight.

Their beliefs don't support any weight, but are rather supported themselves by their psychology. The beliefs, the arguments, the claims; they are all just deflectors/shields. They don't have a coherent worldview, or narrative, they just grab onto whatever is convenient at the time to justify antisocial behavior--this is why their auspice is always some hyper-social cause.

"Why did you punch that man who did nothing to you?"

"He's a Nazi who literally wants to genocide all other races!"

The question isn't why they do what they do. In fact, there is no question that they can answer. They want to punch someone, and they don't want to admit it. The problem is two fold: our society is facing an unnatural quantity and quality of spiritual challenges (everyone), and one side is in complete denial (the left). They need to be told, over and over again, "You just want to hurt someone. That's what this is all about."

D,

That's not the way I go about it.

A bit of brain stuff

At the root there is the human brain.

All humans have brains. One brain is not a mirror image of another and brains do not line up on sides re their basic functions.

Now a principle. If you abuse a thing you use all the time, it will eventually malfunction. That's the way organic things work. Don't drink water, you die. You have to drink water. Drink too much water in one whack and you kill yourself.

By extension, you have to think in stories, or narratives, or schema (narrative models) or whatever else you want to call it. You have to because you can't not. That's just what your brain does.

Story and fact

As to the content of the stories, which is where you are at, show me any propaganda on earth that is not a story or based on a story. You won't be able to because narrative is all propaganda is.

How close those stories reflect reality is another issue. You can get away with telling stories that do not reflect reality (lies), but if you do that too much, you lose. And do it enough, you lose everything.

Want a really old story to show this? "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." That's the left right now.

The left's way of controlling the narrative

Except it's even worse. They add the promise of the social paradise of endless free stuff. But right now, they are hell-bent on killing themselves by crying wolf all the time. If one imaginary wolf doesn't work (muh Russians), they cry there's another wolf (a porn star). And then the "muh masks" wolf. And on and on and on...

Plus, the left controls a huge chunk of the media and social media and they only present the political stories they want to tell on it.

We are humans are primates. One of the main forms of learning for primates is imitation. That's how you yourself learned language, counting, how to tie your shoes, how to eat with utensils and so on. And that's how you get a huge bulk of the core stories in your mind. You repeat and imitate what's all around you. We all do. Welcome to the human race.

(Incidentally, that's why being well-read and well-versed is important for growing your mind and soul and volition. It's easy to fall into a core story groove and rarely step outside of it. That's a recipe for spiritual stagnation.)

The left media knows how to entertain, too, so people who get in the habit of using the the left media outlets don't stray much. They are well entertained by the non-news programs and the news programs are framed in an "us against them" form where "we" are vastly superior to "them." It's seductive and the core stories sound good.

The seeds of the screw up

But the people who control content in that bubble have abused their story presentation privileges. The used core story in a "stimulus and response" way. They discovered how easy it was to use a story stimulus and get an automatic action response.

Then they forgot that people habituate over time to the same stimuli, including them. And, over time and with enough repetition, what was once effective becomes cliche and ordinary and even invisible. That results in unenthusiastic responses drained of urgency to act.

In practice, that means they needed to ramp up the emotional triggers in the core stories they presented. And that's where they really started separating their stories from reality.

So off they went into fairy-tale land with Russian wolves turning into Russian monsters, greedy planet-destroying corporate dragons turning into wicked dark wizards and witches, the COVID-19 spell being cast over humanity with only a magic mask (instead of a magic cloak) to avoid being trapped in the spell, and on and on. I can list a bunch of them.

The left don't use fairy-tale language, but those archetypes resonate deep within all humans (I know why, but that's another issue), so they use those archetypes in modern form in their propaganda.

The trick with these archetypes is to use them as a basic structure, but with a light touch. When selective observable facts align with core stories being told in those frames, they are effective as all hell. And that's what great propaganda does. It just focuses on one set of facts while ignoring another. But the facts the do use and story events always align.

The screw up

The leftie idiots stopped focusing on any facts at all and ignored all of them. I mean, why not? They got the responses they wanted from "controlling the narrative," so who needs any stinking facts? It's easier to change the story.

Thus they started emphasizing the archetypes and frames (in modern terms, of course--and with specific targets like Trump) and simply changed the facts around to suit the story, or a different story they switched to, whenever they felt like it in order to keep getting the responses they wanted.

They forgot that people can see facts with their own eyes outside the different stories they told. And even those inside their  bubble started wondering why things they saw right in front of them kept changing all the time.

The left has contradicted themselves and the facts so often, they have now discredited themselves to those outside their media and social media bubble. And they have sewn the seeds of doubt among the masses they control with stories inside their bubble. That discredit is growing.

Nobody believes them anymore, especially when they say the Bidens are hiding nothing and did nothing wrong (while, unbelievably, dragging out the imaginary Russian wolf again). And they hardly ever talk about free stuff these days.

Propaganda-wise, they have overreached by blanking out reality and stumbled into a total fuck up.

My point is that people think in stories, sure, but what you have on the left is not thinking. There are some people on the left making intellectual mistakes, but they are not the ones driving leftism. The MSM stories you refer to are not core components of the narrative; the real narrative has been growing from the bottom-up on social media and low level journalism. The leftism we are seeing is not rooted in ideas planted by MSNBC, it's rooted in Vice and Vox articles and NowThis clips--the MSM is just trying to keep up.

They're certainly a minority, but there is significant percentage of people playing the power game today. The narrative on the left is coming from people who are not in positions of power, but have figured out a way to feel powerful. The source is not centralized, but distributed. The narrative is not coherent, and doesn't convince anyone of anything... it just stokes an emotion that comes from personal frustration. It tells people that they are justified in doing bad things, and that's really all it is. There is no persuasion technique necessary. They're just telling people what they want to hear.

People haven't been convinced by a million little incidents dissected on social media that systemic racism is plaguing the country, they WANT that to be the case. On the mainstream level, people are not convinced that Russia colluded with the Trump administration, they just WANT that to be the case. Why??? Because it justifies action.

The right and the left work in different directions. This is why the right is so INACTIVE compared to the left. Action on the right needs to be supported by concepts and reason--a coherent narrative. The left goes by emotion--the intention to act comes first, and an incoherent narrative comes from that.

Biden's surrogates are getting awfully befuddled.

This was painful even for me to watch.

Leland Vittert is the Fox news reporter. I don't care for him. He's an aggressive reporter who always tries to trample over the people he is interviewing in order to present a jiggered narrative that will get ratings. Also, he has been leaning against Trump for a long time. He's kinda in the Chris Wallace and Neil Cavuto camp. So his aggressiveness has been selective.

But here, you can almost see it dawn on him that he is in front of one of the century's biggest stories and nobody except the Trump-friendly press is going after it. Instead the entire establishment media are trying to cover it up.

If this were a cartoon, you would see a light bulb above his head turn on. And maybe a sound like boioioingggg. :)

You can hear him think: Woah... that means, this story is mine for the taking if I want it.

Well...

All of a sudden, it looks like he wants it.

:)

And out came the aggressiveness.

If this story leads him to be a real reporter instead of a toady or reporter's equivalent of an ambulance chaser, I say let this side of him bloom.

No changes to speak of, with Fox showing long lines in several locations in Florida even with rain. Rasmussen and RCP poll averages are nearly flat with no surges. “Trump predicts victory to his campaign staff.” He thinks his campaign, two weeks ago, was not in the place it should have been, but now “We are winning.” Trump’s internal voting is predicting a victory, with supporters showing up in person just before or on November 3rd.

Mike Kelly R PA of the House Ways and Means Committee is saying ALL the enthusiasm is for Trump in Pennsylvania. There are Trump signs everyone, in yards and on businesses. There are two Trump rallies in Arizona today. Usually 30 percent of Arizona voting is by mail.

Kamala Harris is locked in her basement and Joe Biden is doing a few honky drive-in rallies.

"What you have on the left is not thinking." - not meaning people on the left do not think, but that what defines them as a group is not their thoughts but their feelings.

What unifies the left is not a shared narrative. It's a shared emotion that necessitates shared villains. The shared villains are not created by the narrative, the narrative is created on the fly, ad hoc, based on whatever vilifies the available outlets for the emotion.

The cure is not a correction of the narrative. Again, the narrative is not supporting anything. The narrative is the leaves, not the roots. You can remove any one leaf and it won't change a thing.

The roots are psychological dysfunction. The cure to leftism is to cure the denial; to make recognized that the person is filled with anger.

Years ago I was having a conversation with someone when I used the R-word. They cut me off, "You know I could go all SJW on you right now." They said they were in a special class in school and they would be called "retard" by the other kids. I said I was sorry that happened and I don't even think about the word as a tool for bullying. About the whole SJW thing he said, "I don't know, sometimes I wonder if I'm just using it as an excuse to hurt people."

What a scared-y cat. Planes are five times safer than homes and nursing homes because of the air circulation. Leave the vents on, Kamala!

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Joe Biden's presidential campaign said Thursday that vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris will suspend in-person events until Monday after two people associated with the campaign tested positive for coronavirus. The campaign said Biden had no exposure, though he and Harris spent several hours campaigning together in Arizona on Oct. 8. Harris was scheduled to travel Thursday to North Carolina for events encouraging voters to cast early ballots. The campaign told reporters Thursday morning that Harris' communications director and a traveling staff member for her travel to Arizona tested positive after that Oct. 8 trip

Do you understand hierarchical knowledge?

For example, a Ford Mustang is a make of car. A car is not a make of Ford Mustang.

An apple is a type of fruit. A fruit is not a type of apple.

Narrative is a kind of thinking.

Thinking is not a kind of narrative.

Vehicle, fruit and thinking are large categories. Ford Mustang, apple and narrative are subcategories of these larger categories.

Is that clear?

I ask because you keep butchering this. Badly.

So the Biden campaign got DJT to basically cancel the last debate by having the PDC to announce a remote setup. Looks like they are employing the same strategy for the next , first elimination of the tradition final debate centered on foreign policy and now a mute feature.

I hope the President announces he’s fine with all that , by Wednesday afternoon Biden will be diagnosed with China Death Plague.

China Death Plague. CDP? Sshh! Nobody in the campaign or family says anything, Kapeesh? Here is an interesting perspective from Breitbart:

Joe Biden has not disputed those are indeed Hunter’s emails. Hunter Biden has not disputed those are his emails. The Biden campaign has not disputed those are Hunter’s emails. And those emails are beyond damning. If they are indeed Hunter’s emails (and I believe they are), they expose Biden as a traitor and something akin to a mafia godfather using his crime family to enrich himself. So, if the emails are real, Joe Biden is better off hiding than going out and campaigning. end quote

I earlier said the same about a lack of active campaigning from Kommie Harris, but an hour later she was in Florida with her jack boots on the ground, and promoting Nazi-Sozi Socialism. Peter

Notes from Wikipedia. The first use of the term "Nazi" by the National Socialists occurred in 1926 in a publication by Joseph Goebbels called Der Nazi-Sozi ["The Nazi-Sozi"]. In Goebbels' pamphlet, the word "Nazi" only appears when linked with the word "Sozi" as an abbreviation of "National Socialism"

D,

It was a simple question.

I bet, without looking, you don't even know what the question was.

Using the pivot technique any two-bit politician uses is not an answer.

Here's the pivot technique when used in question format.

Person: What do you understand as the difference between X and Y?
Pivot-critter: We can talk about that, but the real issue is [fill in the blank].

Any question will do, but I provided one just to illustrate. So there is no doubt, here is the pivot technique with other questions.

Person: Why did you say the earth was flat?
Pivot-critter: We can talk about that, but the real issue is [fill in the blank].

Person: Do you still beat your wife?
Pivot-critter: Who cares about my wife? The real issue is [fill in the blank].

Person: Is Joe Biden a space alien?
Pivot-critter: That's not important. The real issue is [fill in the blank].

Person: Why do you think you think?
Pivot-critter: I think the real issue is [fill in the blank].

This is what is called a "controlling the narrative" technique. But it's also a form of evasion.

In addition to butchering conceptual hierarchy, you use this technique constantly.

Doing this by default as verbal combat does not increase your understanding or wisdom. Nor does it convince anyone of anything. It makes you feel good, though. It makes you feel like you scored points when all you did was change the subject, hopefully without anybody noticing.

And when you use it to probe a question for your own thinking, it leads nowhere. But it does make you high on neurochemicals as you bounce from one epiphany to another in a constant loop of self-congratulations.

You've got a good brain. And spunk. I like both. I, personally, think it's time to take that trail blazer off the playground track and let it rip on the real highway. But that's your choice.

Repeat after me:

Identify first, then evaluate.
And stay on topic.

Identify first, then evaluate.
And stay on topic.

Identify first, then evaluate.
And stay on topic.

Identify first, then evaluate.
And stay on topic.

Identify first, then evaluate.
And stay on topic.

Identify first, then evaluate.
And stay on topic.

Identify first, then evaluate.
And stay on topic.

Do all seven times once a day and you should start seeing some great results in a month or so. Then you'll be ready to tackle conceptual hierarchy.

:)

If you want to fight the good fight and actually make a difference, you have to learn this stuff and get skilled at it.
