The yellow press fake news media is out in full force over a bogus article in The Atlantic:

Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’

That article is pure fake news. Made up shit. Even John Bolton refutes it and he hates President Trump.

btw - There's an excellent overview of the article and context on Breitbart:

Pollak: The Stunning Synergy of The Atlantic’s Anonymous Attack on Trump

Anywho, that's what the Biden side is doing.

Meanwhile, this is what President Trump has been doing, over and over and over.

I don't know where this particular video happened or when, but there is a lot of footage of stuff like this out there. Also, there are a lot of times where interactions like this wasn't recorded. They are simply remembered by average people, some of whom tell the press about them when asked.

President Trump does not do this for show. It's the way he is all day every day. This is his normal.

This is a strong part of the bond he has with his supporters and no silly made up story screamed out by the fake news media can break it.

They couldn't break it pumping hard a Russian hoax for over 3 years including a special counsel investigation, they couldn't break it with a half-assed impeachment that was an embarrassment to Congress, they couldn't even break it with a port star who's lawyer is now under house arrest and looking to be in the slammer after sentencing for a long, long time.

They can't break that bond because they have no clue about what that bond is.

Incidentally, here is President Trump making mincemeat out of this article and the fake news media at a press conference.

There's a rumor that one of the anonymous sources for the Atlantic article was John Kelly.

That might be why President Trump unloaded on him so harshly.

I hope John Kelly didn't do that. But if he did, he deserves everything that will be coming his way.

All you need is plausible for the purposes of electoral propaganda. The Atlantic story has legs because it is plausible, in my opinion.

Bingo! Did you know Biden killed his first wife? That was a story back in the early or mid 1970's.

Peter,

That's pretty accurate.

Then there's this. The author of the article, Jeffrey Goldberg, has serious reputation problems. He's known as a left-leaning neocon (he luvs him some unending war for profit, especially Mattis-style these days) and an Obama insider. He's also got a huge case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Here's a typical approach by him to President Trump: Unthinkable.

Quote

In an October 2016 editorial, The Atlantic wrote of Donald Trump: “He is a demagogue, a xenophobe, a sexist, a know-nothing, and a liar.” We argued that Trump “expresses admiration for authoritarian rulers, and evinces authoritarian tendencies himself.” Trump, we also noted, “is easily goaded, a poor quality for someone seeking control of America’s nuclear arsenal. He is an enemy of fact-based discourse; he is ignorant of, and indifferent to, the Constitution; he appears not to read.”

In retrospect, we may be guilty of understatement.

Do ya' think he's a real journalist?

:)

Also, according to reports I have read in several places, the owner of The Atlantic, Laurene Powell Jobs (the widow of Steve Jobs), has already sunk over one million dollars of her own money in Joe Biden's campaign. She also sank millions in Hillary Clinton's campaign (between her own money and money she fund-raised).

This piece in The Atlantic by Goldberg is so bad credibility-wise, even the son-in-law of John McCain, is calling bullshit.

Ben Domenech Defends Trump Over Bombshell Report President Trashed Father-in-Law John McCain as ‘Loser’

For Trump haters, the article is candy. It plays to the caricature people with TDS have of the 45th President. For the rest of the world, it will be a flash in the pan that will go the way of Omarosa's tell-all or something like that.

:)

This is campaign propaganda and nothing more. And as propaganda, it's weak. It sings to the choir, not to people who are on the fence (voters who Biden needs to influence). By next week, we will be talking about another hit piece on Trump or whatever.

The first debate is at 9 pm on September 29th, 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio. A local talk show host was wondering how Biden was going to get out of it. She predicted various scenarios utilizing the Coronavirus.

They don’t really name any sources but this is from Politico: The Trump team has been studying Biden’s idiosyncrasies in debates and other venues and preparing tactics for Trump, according to interviews with a dozen campaign aides, White House officials and outside advisers. Some have noticed the way he says, “C’mon, man,” whenever he feels frustrated, and they’re trying to identify words or phrases that trigger him to “reboot,” as one person familiar with the planning described it. Essentially, Trump aides are looking for ways to trip up Biden in an effort to spur an incoherent or unsatisfactory response — bolstering a key Trump argument against Biden built around his age.

Biden “did a very effective job at debating the wunderkind that was Paul Ryan in 2012, so I take his knowledge and skills seriously,” said one outside adviser to the Trump campaign. “That said, I do think he's lost a step in the years since then.”

Are we having fun with this election yet? OK. I’ve got it. If Biden “chickens out” he shall henceforth be dubbed, Chicken Joe. Maybe President Trump should start predicting Biden’s withdrawal from social, personal politicking and goad him into showing up by calling him Chicken Joe.  Peter

That guy wrote, “Make that "Boneless Chicken Joe."

You deserve a joke but I can’t think of any.

Somebody’s movie dialogue: “You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me?” “I grew up in a tough neighborhood, and we used to say, you can get further with a kind word and a gun that you can with just a kind word.” “Never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut. “There's nothing more ironic or contradictory than life itself.” “Whenever there is any doubt, there is no doubt.” “No matter how big a guy might be, Nicky would take him on. You beat Nicky with fists, he comes back with a bat. You beat him with a knife, he comes back with a gun. And if you beat him with a gun, you better kill him, because he'll keep comin' back and back until one of you is dead.”

Wow.

Jesse Waters is on fire in these two Trump tweets.

He's going into the persuasion techniques of the fake news media--in particular, the grandaddy of them all:

Simply deny what people see and keep repeating the denial while saying something else is reality.

Repeated denial plus fake reality mostly doesn't work (like the press is learning right now) since it has to be set up correctly, but if a social engineer can pull it off, the immediate rewards are massive--including getting enough power to kill and enslave opposition.

The fake news mainstream press isn't as powerful as it wants to be, so I don't see this working in this election cycle except on a small fraction of the population. But I also think if fake news mainstream press were as powerful as it once way, they would be successful in pulling it off.

What can we do? Develop new habits by watching alt media and encouraging others to do the same. It's fun to find new personalities we resonate with.

Also, when watching mainstream news, watch specific people like Jesse (and the Fox conservative line-up in general like Hannity, Dobbs, Pirro, Ingraham, etc., but exclude trash like Chris Wallace when possible).

I'm not saying create a news bubble for yourself. I am saying use honesty in presenting facts as your guide. The people I mentioned have pro-Trump opinions, but I rarely see them call something a fact when it's an obvious lie.

Also, I think self-filtering like this until the election is important since the mainstream fake news media is pulling out all stops to defeat President Trump. We are already seeing blatant lies--with not even a smidgen of nuance--coming out as featured news items.

After the election, the mainstream news will probably go back to its normal "muh Russians" level, which is stupid but tolerable. So you can go back to old habits then and things will be like normal.

But if you don't want to go crazy with nonstop covert/overt manipulation and cognitive dissonance, take a break from the liars. They are ramped up and out of their minds during this phase.

Look at this, just look at how Biden looks spaced out and not all there.

Then think about the way President Trump would have handled it.

But that's kinda hard to imagine since Trump would not have done a goddam stupid thing like the Iraq war.

This Air Force vet just showed how to do a peaceful protest in a way that causes impact.

Wouldn't you know it, too? The military shows how to be nonviolent and effective in protesting. And they're trained to break things and kill people as their job description.

From Politico's Gabby Orr: Trump prepares a new fall offensive: Labeling Kamala Harris

Quote

So far, Harris has emerged as an asset since Biden tapped her as his running mate in August. Her presence on the ticket contributed to a major fundraising boost last month as the Biden campaign and Democratic National Committee raised a record-breaking $364.5 million. And her history-making potential as the first Asian American and Black woman on a major party ticket has helped inject enthusiasm into the party’s base, particularly among female and minority voters, according to recent polls.

All polls are wrong, of course.  But the notion that Kamala Harris will be a drag on the Democratic ticket -- there should be evidence of that by now, right?

Apparently, Charlie Kirk is working on some kind of debate prep -- although this is likely not formalized with the campaign. Here he is on Instagram:

The moderators for the three presidential debates are Chris Wallace, Steve Scully, and Kristen Welker. From ABCNews:

Quote

[...] In a statement, the Trump campaign complained the choice of moderators meant Biden would have a "teammate" on stage "most of the time," without being more specific about names.

"These are not the moderators we would have recommended if the campaign had been allowed to have any input. Some can be identified as clear opponents of President Trump, meaning Joe Biden will actually have a teammate on stage most of the time to help him excuse the radical, leftist agenda he is carrying. One thing is sure: Chris Wallace’s selection ensures that Biden will finally see him face-to-face after dodging his interview requests. That is, if Biden actually shows up," Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh said. [...]

Of course, HA Goodman is at the ready with some logic and reason (as he advertizes it):

Was President Trump griping or tired William, and Fox News lady? I think I have understood a few new clues. The fake news story about President Trump calling America’s war dead “losers” is a combination of what he did say about John McCain and things Alec Baldwin portraying President Trump. says on Saturday Night Live. “Losers!”  Their propaganda won’t work now or ever. William,

One CNN person, Erica Hill, disagrees about the legs of Michael Cohen's book and the stories in it.

CNN Host: 'Sadly,' Michael Cohen Allegations Might Not Hurt Trump

Is there any doubt she feels the same about the Atlantic article and the stories in that?

Propaganda must sound plausible to be first accepted but remember how that first twist of a thought builds and morphs into a larger, corrupted version of the truth, as with the Hollywood left and Communism. To this day, how many generations of “stars” think socialism or communism is the best system for social justice? And, of course, they will be the elite in charge and get to keep their loot and fame along with Kamala and Chicken Joe.   Peter

A quote from “The Problem of Induction” by Carl Popper: Wittgenstein: 13 '. . . if we do not know precisely the meaning of the words we use, we cannot discuss anything profitably. Most of the futile arguments on which we all waste time are largely due to the fact that we each have our own vague meaning for the words we use and assume that our opponents are using them in the same sense. If we defined our terms to start with, we could have far more profitable discussions. Again, we have only to read the daily papers to observe that propaganda (the modern counterpart of rhetoric) depends largely for its success on confusing the meaning of the terms. If politicians were compelled by law to define any term they wished to use, they would lose most of their popular appeal, their speeches would be shorter, and many of their disagreements would be found to be purely verbal.' This passage is very characteristic of one of the prejudices which we owe to Aristotle, of the prejudice that language can be made more precise by the use of definitions. Let us consider whether this can really be done.

Strong, strong metaphor.

This one is going to stick to Biden no matter what his supporters do.

I believe that is why President Trump posted it.

Here's the transcript.

Joe Rogan speaking.

Biden, to me, is like having a flashlight with a dying battery and going for a long hike in the woods. It is not going to work out. It's not gonna make it.

In Pennsylvania the race is tied with Biden and Trump each at 46. And I read that a double digit (15 percent?) of “strong” Trump supports will not advertise that fact. In my neck of the woods for miles around, there are a lot of Trump 2020 yard signs, but NOT ONE Biden sign. Once again local talk radio is very pissed about the Biden family’s monetary ties to Communist China and "Why can’t people see the Biden’s are traitorous?" Peter

From Rasmussen White House Watch / Biden’s Lead Narrows to Two / Wednesday, September 09, 2020. With less than two months until Election Day, Democratic nominee Joe Biden holds a slight two-point lead over President Trump in the latest Rasmussen Reports’ weekly White House Watch survey. The new national telephone and online survey finds Biden with 48% support among Likely U.S. Voters to Trump’s 46%. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, while three percent (3%) remain undecided . . . .

ABC News: Trump mocks Harris' name, says having her as president would be 'insult' to country. Using some of his harshest language and maybe his most mocking tone yet, President Donald Trump attacked Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris on Tuesday night, saying Harris as the first female president would be an "insult to our country" while repeatedly mispronouncing her name.

"People don't like her," the president said at a rally in North Carolina, recounting her falling poll numbers on the Democratic primary trail. "Nobody likes her. She could never be the first woman president. She could never be. That would be an insult to our country." Calling her primary performance "like a free fall," the president also claimed Harris is "further left than Crazy Bernie Sanders." "You know who's further left than Crazy Bernie? Kamala. Kamala. Kamala," Trump said, mispronouncing and stretching out each syllable of her name each time he said it . . . .
