Michael Stuart Kelly
21 hours ago, Ellen Stuttle said: Judging from the articles listing at the bottom, Wayne Allen Root is the "Assistant Editor" credited. Ellen, This is so weird. I seriously doubt Wayne Allen Root is the Assistant Editor of TGP. So I looked into it a bit. And here's what I found. 1. To start with, the Hoft brothers are sloppy in basic organization and source-naming (including authors) and have been ever since I started reading them. Often I will read an article, then have to hunt down people alluded to but not named in it. Their fame and popularity come from the closeness and quasi-exclusivity they have to Trump and Trump people and their ability to put out insider info that is accurate (mostly) and does not piss off Trump insiders. 2. They have no page for listing author bios or even staff on the site (at least I haven't found one), so I had to dig around at other places. 3. Cristina Laila used to be the Assistant Editor. How do I know this? She said so in an article she wrote at The Spectator.info (which I believe is her blog). Twitter Locks Out TGP Assistant Editor Cristina Laila For 12 Hours | The Spectator | Truth Conquers All THESPECTATOR.INFO Twitter locked me out of my account (again) for no reason in the middle of the most hotly contested presidential race in modern memory. I am a writer, editor and I help run the breaking news desk at The Gateway... Cristina rarely signs the articles she writes. At The Spectator.info, there are recent articles written in the first person without indicating the author, no other first person articles written by other authors I could find, and other articles by others where the author's name is given. So the first person articles have to be by her. Also, she still writes for TGP. 4. On Twitter, Cristina lists herself as the following (see here) Quote @cristinalaila1 Armenian, Associate Editor, Breaking News & Contributing writer🖊 @gatewaypundit & I do radio interviews🎙 5. Wayne Allen Root has a popular national syndicated radio show and a TV show on Newsmax. He also writes for many publications, writes bestselling books, and is a serial entrepreneur. I doubt he would take the position of Assistant Editor anywhere. 6. The article about Pfizer using material from babies killed after birth does not sound like his writing, which is almost always in the inspirational and self-help style. I could speculate why links to articles by Root (with all caps attribution) are listed in the Assistant Editor's articles box at the bottom, under the "Recent Posts" tab, like, er... say, he and Cristina seem to like each other a lot , but that would only be speculation. Is "Associate Editor" a step up or step down from "Assistant Editor"? Is Wayne Allen Root financially supporting TGP and/or Cristina Laila in some manner? Does Cristina avoid signing articles in general due to trouble related to her being Armenian or something like not wanting to be targeted by offline bullies? Lots of questions, and I imagine they are in the ball park, but I don't know for sure. I am pretty sure (based on patterns), though, that the article you posted was written by Cristina Laila and not Wayne Allen Root. Michael

Michael Stuart Kelly
Quercitin (an onver-the-counter supplement) has been studied for COVID-19 and here is an article that says it is similar to Ivermectin in effectiveness. Can Quercetin Affect COVID Outcomes? ARTICLES.MERCOLA.COM Two studies suggest this antiviral, anti-blood clotting, anti-inflammatory is an alternative to hydroxychloroquine. What's more, it's far less expensive, easier to obtain and clears COVID faster than those who... Unfortunately, this article will disappear 25 hours after this posting since Biden's justice department has been persecuting Dr. Mercola. Here is an excerpt. Quote STORY AT-A-GLANCE Two recently published studies confirm quercetin is useful as an adjunct therapy in the early outpatient treatment of mild SARS-CoV-2 infection In one study, COVID patients who received quercetin in addition to analgesics and an antibiotic cleared the virus faster than those who only received analgesics and antibiotics, and a greater number of patients reported reduced symptoms In the second study, daily quercetin supplementation for one month reduced the frequency and length of hospitalization, the need for noninvasive oxygen therapy, intensive care and deaths Quercetin has antiviral, anti-blood clotting, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, all of which are important in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection Quercetin also inhibits binding of specific spike proteins to your ACE2 receptors, thereby blocking the virus’ ability to infect your cells. It’s also been shown to directly neutralize viral proteins that are critical in the replication of SARS‐CoV‐2 In an August 21, 2021, newsletter,1 Dr. Michael Murray discussed the use of quercetin for respiratory infection symptoms. In November 2020, he’d suffered a “very mild and brief bout of COVID-19.” He also recounts an anecdotal story of a friend who developed suspicious respiratory symptoms. His friend had been taking a number of supplements said to offer protection, but was still feeling awful. As it turns out, the one thing he’d not taken was quercetin, and as soon as he did, that same day, his symptoms started to dissipate. This experience, Murray says, “is consistent with the results from two clinical trials” that were recently published. Quercetin seems to be a safe, far less expensive, and easier-to-obtain and it works by a similar mechanism, driving zinc into the cells to stop viral replication. Statistical Improvement in Clinical Outcomes In the first study,2 42 COVID-19 outpatients were divided into two groups. One group of 21 patients received standard medical therapy consisting of analgesics and an antibiotic (acetaminophen 500-milligram (mg) to 1,000-mg dose if body temperature was higher than 37.5 degrees C — 99.5 F — with a maximum daily dosage of 3 grams, and 500 mg azithromycin for three consecutive days). The other group of 21 patients received standard therapy plus the equivalent of 600 mg of quercetin per day (divided into three doses) for seven days, followed by another seven-day course of 400 mg of quercetin per day (divided into two doses). The quercetin was used with sunflower lecithin, which has been demonstrated to increase absorption in the gut by as much as 20 times, compared to pure quercetin formulations. The main outcomes being evaluated were virus clearance and symptoms. After one week of treatment, 16 of the 21 patients in the quercetin group tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 and 12 reported that all symptoms had diminished. In the standard care group, only two tested negative and four had partially improved symptoms. By the end of Week 2, the five remaining patients in the quercetin group tested negative. In the standard care group, 17 of the 19 remaining patients tested negative and one had died. “These results are impressive and hopefully additional studies will be conducted on hospitalized patients to see how quercetin might be helpful in more severe cases,” Murray wrote in his newsletter. Here is the first study mentioned: Potential Clinical Benefits of Quercetin in the Early Stage of COVID-19: Results of a Second, Pilot, Randomized, Controlled and Open-Label Clinical Trial And here is the second: Possible Therapeutic Effects of Adjuvant Quercetin Supplementation Against Early-Stage COVID-19 Infection: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled, and Open-Label Study I never heard of quercetin before, but I think I might start taking it as a normal supplement. Dglgmut
20 hours ago, Peter said: I would put more trust in my doctor. To start taking some OTC is . . . . . When do you decide to trust someone else over your own judgment? And how do you choose between conflicting voices that you deem more knowledgeable than yourself? What about the health of your doctor? Does that play a factor in your evaluation of his/her expertise? What about principles that you can trust above even professional experience? For myself, I like to hear the conflicting views of experts and 'trust' the ones who make more sense. I find it interesting how many health 'experts' are clearly unhealthy, and I wouldn't trust someone's opinion who can't even take care of themself. As for principles, I think doing something natural is always the safest option. It might not always be optimal, but it can never be that bad. If something unnatural is touted as being optimal, you always have to consider that if there's bad information involved, the reality might be terrible.

Mark
This Week in the World Affairs Brief THE PROFESSIONAL REBELLION AGAINST VACCINE MANDATES by Joel Skousen Ayn Rand’s classic libertarian novel “Atlas Shrugged” describes a rebellion of the productive class against the encroaching socialist state. Her mythical hero, John Galt, encourages the most productive and essential corporate leaders in the nation to shrug the world of socialist burdens off of their shoulders and quit—knowing that without their skills and innovative leadership society under socialism will collapse. All these hard-working people retreat to Galt’s Gulch in the Rocky Mountains and prepare to rebuild later. There are similarities to this theme now as some of the best people are forced out of their jobs over these totalitarian Covid vaccine mandates. Sadly, the vaunted leadership class that Ayn envisioned leading the way has utterly failed to fight against the lies and deceptions of the false pandemic. They have either joined the conspiracy as knowing conspirators or become mindless yes-men and cheerleaders for these ruthless vaccines and freedom-wrecking Covid mandates. Instead there is a small but growing class of hard-working professionals who do the critical work of airlines, hospitals, railroads and ferries who are balking at the vaccine mandate, calling in sick, filing lawsuits and even quitting their jobs rather than submit to this tyranny. Just as in her fictional writing, as good people are forced out, it is creating havoc with the economy as shortages and delays get worse every day. The big question this week is, “Is it enough and will they be able to outlast the Powers-That-Be arrayed against them?”
