btw - Twitter has banned the accounts of several pro-Trump people like Sidney Powell, General Flynn, etc. And now the Apple store demanded that Parler enact a series of censorship policies or else it will be removed from the app store.

They are all scared and think this will work.

It won't.

So, they finally did it.

...one of the major Q claims is that one Trump was suspended from Twitter, EMS was activated. But also, the other claim was "Look to Twitter for exactly this: "My fellow Americans, the Storm is upon us..."

[Edit: D'oh! That's his personal account, not the POTUS account.]

I hate to keep using Twitter for this, but it's fast and the text stays on OL even if the tweet is deleted thanks to the encryption.

So this makes the most sense to me right now.

I though it might be a hacking attack, but overload is a lot more likely.

Anyway, thank God President Trump opened an account on Parler (if true, and if this news really comes from Hannity, it is).

The people who did this don't realize the following has already happened to countless alt media platforms like Gab, Mike Adams's sites, Alex Jones, etc., and all of them have massive audiences--not as big as Big Tech, but massive. And now I believe they stand a chance of drastically amping this up.

Sharyl knows because she was a victim of Big Tech and cancel culture persecution.

Finally, it looks like President Trump got a Parler account.

REPORT: Sean Hannity Says President Trump Has Joined Parler

If you want to sign up to follow him over there, wait until Parler works out its technical problem (which will probably be soon) and sign up for an account if you do not already have one.

Parler

President Trump's account is this:

@TheOfficialPotus

Does that sound like he threw in the towel?

:)

About Parler, Corey's experience is the same as mine. I can get on Parler, but it is so overloaded, it stalls. Just be a little patient and all will be well over there.

Man, this is a great time to be alive.

I'm loving this.

President Trump issues a warning.

Of course it ain't over.

President Trump's mission is in his tweet: MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN and AMERICA FIRST.

One term was not enough to complete that, but it got things going in the right direction. So this election fraud was just one battle. Trump has lost battles before, but he wins wars.

I stand with Trump.

Michael,

Looks like ALL OF LIN WOOD'S tweets which you've posted on OL have been deleted with no text images as residue.

I checked one and, sure enough, they managed to cut through.

I will find other stuff from Lin and make a post or thread about it.

EDIT: On Breitbart, the keeping text thing works for them (see here). That tells me there will soon be an archive of Lin's tweets somewhere on the Internet.

I'm going to post the text of one series of Lin Wood tweets included in the Breitbart article.  All of these are dated January 1, 2021.

I'm not including the links in case leaving them out helps with preventing the text from being deleted.

I think that the truth of the statement about the Republicans has become awfully clear with events subsequent to 1/1/21.

=====Start Quote

(1) For two months we have focused on accusing the Democrats of attempting to steal the 20/20 election for Biden. We focused on the Presidential election.

We focused on the obvious.

Over time, we have learned that the Democrats were joined by CCP & other foreign countries.

(2) We have also learned that the Globalists like George Soros & the Elitists like Bill Gates were involved. CIA too (no surprise – military industrial complex).

It all seemed so clear we overlooked one of the main participants in the theft of the election:

THE REPUBLICANS.

(3) These groups aspire to the goals of Communism. A ruling elite & an oppressed class of people who exist to serve those in power.

When arrests for treason begin, put Chief Justice John Roberts, VP Mike Pence, & Mitch McConnell at top of list.

(Above quote is Ellen quoting Lin Wood.)

And after all their talk of fighting socialism, standing up for capitalism, the Constitution, etc. And that's a shame, because I know of a certain novelist-philosopher who tried to warn of exactly that in her work. (Only the below didn't take China's influence into account, but then, this was decades ago...)

Philosophically, the New Right holds the same fundamental ideas as the New Left—its religious zeal is merely a variant of irrationalism and the demand for self-sacrifice—and therefore it has to lead to the same result in practice: dictatorship. Nor is this merely my theoretical deduction. The New Rightists themselves announce it
openly. While claiming to be the defenders of Americanism, their distinctive political agenda is pure statism."

"But, you may say, aren’t the New Rightists at least champions of property rights and capitalism, as against the economic statism of the liberals? They are not. Capitalism is the separation of state and economics, a condition that none of our current politicians or pressure groups even dreams of advocating. The New Right, like all the
rest on the political scene today, accepts the welfare-state mixed economy created by the New Deal and its heirs; our conservatives now merely haggle on the system’s fringes about a particular regulation or handout they happen to dislike. In this matter, the New Right is moved solely by the power of tradition. These men do not want to achieve any change of basic course, but merely to slow down the march to socialism by freezing the economic status quo. And even in regard to this highly limited goal, they are disarmed and useless."

Or this one, from Rand:

Quote

Both the “conservatives” and the “liberals” stress a fact with which everybody seems to agree: that the world is facing a deadly conflict and that we must fight to save civilization. But what is the nature of that conflict? Both groups answer: it is a conflict between communism and . . . and what?—blank out….

The truth which both groups refuse to face and to admit is that, politically, the world conflict of today is the last stage of the struggle between capitalism and statism.

We stand for freedom, say both groups—and proceed to declare what kind of controls, regulations, coercions, taxes, and “sacrifices” they would impose, what arbitrary powers they would demand, what “social gains” they would hand out to various groups, without specifying from what other groups these “gains” would be expropriated. Neither of them cares to admit that government control of a country’s economy—any kind or degree of such control, by any group, for any purpose whatsoever—rests on the basic principle of statism, the principle that man’s life belongs to the state.

There are a lot of people saying the buffalo horned guy who invaded the capitol was a QAnon Trump supporter.

Here is a bullshit buster:

Jake Angeli: The Psychedelic Guru Who Stormed The Capitol

The author of this article gave a decent nutshell background on the idiot, but he also tried to insinuate that the idiot was a widely known part of the MAGA movement or QAnon movement.

That's spin and nothing more.

But the truth is, the idiot is into shamanism and psychedelics. Anybody who knows anything about Trump supporters, or even QAnon, knows it's not about these things.

This guy is a kook who latched onto Trump and Q randomly. He could be a follower of Ayn Rand next and it would all mean the same thing to him.

Imagine this. If he showed up at ARI events and talked about Rand on social media at times, would anyone think the ARI people had anything to do with him?

Well, this same thing applies to the Trump rally.

At least now you have a reference for some background on this idiot. It's slanted as all hell in the wrong way, but it's background.

ThatGuy,

Since World War II the U.S. has been in a new phase of degradation to which Rand was pretty much oblivious.   Socialism vs. Capitalism, Left vs. Right, Liberal vs. Conservative is now just entertainment, like television wrestling, hiding venal, thieving, murdering Mafia-like corruption.  It makes “taxing the rich” or “robbing Peter to pay Paul” look good.

I wrote “pretty much” because once in a while Rand would acknowledge that something more sinister than differences in political philosophy was going on.  The only example I can think of at the moment is when, in an essay, she entertained the possibility that Marilyn Monroe had been murdered (for knowing too much about the crowd she was running around with at the time, though Rand didn’t say that).

Leonard Peikoff hosted a radio show in the late 90s.  Trying to make the above point, here’s what I emailed to him when he asked for topics to discuss (he didn’t use it).  The quality of my writing has improved, I think, since back then.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aug 6, 1998  *Choose your issues*

My two choices are related, so first here's the common idea. In years past, however unconstitutional and extreme the violation of our rights, laws were passed and adhered to do it -- a pro forma chipping away of freedom. America was heading toward a totalitarian state -- in a genteel manner. No longer. We're graduating into a more mature stage of fascism. Besides the pretense of respect for the rule of law we now have outright gangsterism and thuggery.

Here are my two choices:

1. The unbelievable corruption within the U.S. Department of Justice. The HUD and the savings and loan scandals, to give just two examples, were all made possible by crooked judges. None of the major perpetrators went to prison, only lesser figures or even innocent fall guys. Whistleblowers, insiders who try to expose the corruption, risk being sent to prison on false charges. Rodney Stich has written several books on corruption within the government, after experiencing it first hand. The thing to be done about it now is to make the corruption known. Then dishonest judges must be punished and replaced with honest ones. (By the way, Stein & Day, the first publisher of your -- LP's --first book, was robbed of all its assets by the corrupt Chapter 11 system. Sol Stein wrote a book about it entitled *A Feast for Lawyers*.)

2. The voluntary news blackout of the mainstream media. On some subjects a government censor could hardly do a better job. And when not a blackout it's often a dimout. This is well known to those who are interested in current affairs, thanks to those bright lights the alternative press, talk radio, and the Internet. But ask the average joe about the Vince Foster murder, the execution style murder of Mary Caitrin Mahoney -- Georgetown Starbucks cafe manager and former White House Intern, the evidence of a missile shoot down of TWA flight 800, FBI foreknowledge of [now I would say participation in] the Oklahoma City bombing, etc. and you get a blank stare.

More generally, Ayn Rand often wrote about those who hate the good for being the good. I refer to this as misocalosism (Greek: miso- disdain, hate; calos the good, the beautiful). A subset of misocalosists are cacophiliacs, who revel in filth and the ugly. In "The Age of Envy" (Return of the Primitive; formerly The New Left), she identified the hate of the good for being the good as the root cause of envy, which one must distinguish from jealousy.

Jealousy is wanting what someone else has, or protecting what is yours. Envy is begrudging someone of what he has. Jealousy might lead one to steal a car or to save for a car like the one that one's friend or neighbor drives; envy might lead one to torch the fancy car of one's neighbor.

As for specific examples of something dark and sinister lurking among us, it pretty much follows that misocalosists—those who hate the good for being the good—would be attracted to careers that enable them to ruin others' lives, even if only in small ways. And, yes, it is entirely possible that Marilyn Monroe knew 'too much'. Likewise, Vince Foster, Ron Brown, Seth Rich, Philip Haney, Jeffery Epstein, et al., ad nauseam.

I largely agree, given her dismissive comments about "the so-called military industrial complex" at her West Point speech. And yet, ATLAS SHRUGGED was  chock-full of things like that.
