The Syria and Turkey Mess

Been cruising the web for mention of the South China Seas. If we reduce our “sphere of military influence,” are there countries that will perceive a gap to be filled by their rickshaws? Yup. And neither Jethro, Uncle Jed, Ellie May, Grannie . . .  or Uncle Sam will be pleased. Peter

‘Abominable’ Release in Malaysia to be Abandoned by Patrick Frater. Plans to release the increasingly controversial Chinese-U.S. co-produced animation film “Abominable” in Malaysia have been dropped, after the distributor said that it would not be cut . . . . The film includes a scene which depicts a map showing the South China Sea and the so called ‘nine dash line’ which China uses claim to most of the sea area. The resource-rich waters are also claimed by Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, The Philippines and Taiwan. In recent days, inclusion of the map scene caused the film to be banned in Vietnam, while in the Philippines the foreign minister has led calls for it to be boycotted by the public. In Malaysia, the censorship board, Lembaga Penapis Filem or LPF, gave its OK to the planned Nov. 7 theatrical release on condition that the scene be cut. “Universal has decided not to make the censor cut required by the Malaysian censor board and as such will not be able to release the film in Malaysia,” a spokeswoman for the film’s distributor, United International Pictures, told the Reuters news agency on Sunday. The film is a Sino-U.S. co-production between Comcast-owned DreamWorks Animation and Shanghai-based Pearl Studio. Pearl is now a fully Chinese-owned rebrand of the former Oriental DreamWorks joint venture, which was founded with great fanfare in 2012 as a landmark collaboration between Hollywood and China.

From The Times of Israel: Twitter has suspended accounts affiliated with the Hamas and Hezbollah terror groups as well as a Palestinian news outlet. As of Sunday, access to Hamas’s English and Arabic handles as well as several of those belonging to Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV was no longer available. end quote

And TTOI had an online poll: “Is Trump the answer?” Is President Trump even more popular in Israel than in the U.S.? Amid all the “impeachment rot” our President bravely soldiers on. Peter

From The Times of Israel. IDF girds for several days of fighting after 150 rockets fired at Israel. After 6 hours of attacks on southern, central Israel by PIJ in response to killing of terror chief, army launches air campaign targeting terror tunnel, naval commando compound . . . . The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday afternoon launched a campaign of retaliatory airstrikes against the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group in the Gaza Strip following approximately six hours of unanswered rocket attacks on central and southern Israel from the enclave. The military said its airstrikes targeted Palestinian Islamic Jihad underground facilities and training camps. The IDF said these underground facilities were used “for storage and manufacturing of weapons.” end quote

Israel targets the Palestinian’s terrorist military avoiding harm to civilians. The terrorists target Israeli civilians. Photos show Israeli’s lying on the street, covering their heads. It reminds me of the 1950’s in America when atomic bomb drills were held in American schools, but the Israeli’s are forced to endure terrorist bombings today. I understand that the Palestinian civilians fear their own deaths if they supply intelligence to the Israeli Defense Forces about the terrorists creeping below the surface. How about “Free phones for everybody with a 911 speed dial and Amazon rewards for internet purchases going to the best, anonymous tips?” Peter
