The Left's New Darling Dingbat

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez calls Israel occupiers of Palestine:

And, then, under the tiniest pressure of a request for clarification, she taps out instantly. No más, no más! Oopsie, tee hee hee, I'm not the expert on geopolitics, hee hee.

This from someone running for public office with a bachelor's degree in economics and international relations. Ya know, it actually makes sense that she wouldn't know anything about geopolitics despite having a degree in the subject, after all, she's a socialist despite having a degree in economics.

Anyway, all tripped up by a simple request for clarity. Imagine the mess she'd make of herself when facing substantive challenges from a candidate who wants to win, and not a kid-gloved reporter.

I say sic Mike Wallace on her! That socialist darling is pretty but she may turn out to be silly putty. Is "Silly Pretty" better?

If Old Hickory Clinton decides to rerun in 2020 she will slay any candidate who has a chance against Sir Trump, with her wizardly power and money sword.

Finally we know why the unemployment rate is (presently) so low.  "Everyone has two jobs".

I saw someone call her the Sarah Palin of the left...after a few minutes reflection I feel that's quite unfair to Sarah Palin.

I think that the idea was supposed to be that she is young and beautiful and energetic and brilliant and a breath of fresh air. Yippy!

Her degrees in international relations and economics made her an authority on the subjects, if not the ultimate authority. See, socialism works and is awesome because Cortez says so and she has degrees and everything! She's got the education to kick anyone's ass in a debate!

Uh huh. Good luck with that.

Yeah, she's crashing and burning.

Dems who, at first glance, were cheering for her are now openly warning her to shut her damned mouth. They're pulling away from her, and some have even issued threats of putting her in her place.

I hope she sticks around and keeps it up.

The left's little dingbat darling struck out:

http://www.theamericanmirror.com/socialist-star-cortez-strikes-out-all-endorsed-candidates-lose-tuesday-primaries/

One of the best ledes that I've seen in a long time: "Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s record on Tuesday night for her chosen primary candidates was as bare as a Venezuelan supermarket shelf."

Hahahaha!

J

P.S. Meanwhile, Trump's endorsed candidates did well. You might say a grand slam plus one?

OMG! Ocasia-Cortez hates the press, is punishing the media, and wants to end freedom of the press and free speech!

She had an explosively furious meltdown tantrum tirade and banned the press from an event:

She wants to kill all journalists!

My podges from Memeorandum.com probably raise only a sigh most times, even when I style it all as Grand Hoopla.  It bears mentioning that Memeorandum is like Drudge, pretty text-based. Whereas Drudge gets more links on a page, by far, Memeorandum adds in contextual-material that helps you sort through the stories you may read or at least take note of.

Where there is a byline, it is noted.  When which story was first published is usually indicated by the ranks of the lists. Where the story appeared is always indicated.

So you can blow through the lists looking for folks you appreciate, or who have provided you with interesting takes, reams of detail, whatever -- maybe you pick the best, tightest, weirdest, most histrionic or otherwise awful from a 'tribe' opposite to your way of thinking.  So, a Liberal liberal would read over to, say, Chuck Ross or Sara Carter for the straight hard journalism (a titch of Daily Caller style), and to say Limbaugh for a longer argument, but could also be on the lookout for 'crazy' authors to typify Them, if you can imagine a Liberal liberal doing that.

A OL majority tribe member might choose from writers in which he or she has put trust, from all sides of  tribal fences.

Anyhow, boring set up out of the way, sometimes it becomes apparent that a story will get more than a day of Hoopla, if not Grand, if not Grand Supreme. And it may be led by fine writer minds from any particular 'wing' or arm of submedia... Memeorandum, even if overwhelmingly an aggregator of false, manipulative, biased and misleading 'news' from the mainstream, will still show items of interest to smaller/unrepresented tribes here and there.  This snapshot was taken at 3:45 pm Eastern.  The topic has become a Hollywood Squares TV NewsPinball screeching chyron as well.  It's cool when the amplification comes from the 'other guy.' That's life, people.

Hmmm. Yeah, um, no.

it appears that the point went right over your head. Or more likely under it. You've overthought it, is my guess.

This past week, idiot members of the leftist activist fake news media "united" to deliver a message against the fictional Trump that they've invented. The wrote lying editorials condemning him for his attacks on all of the press -- each and every member of the press -- the press as an institution, and freedom of the press itself. They did this in response to his having been critical of some members of the press and certain press organizations due to their political activism, and his having shut some of them out, or threatened to do so.

It's the leftist press's tactic of using fallacies of illicit transference and hoping that no one notices. It's the same thing that they've done with gender and race, etc.: If Trump criticizes a woman, then the activist leftist press reports that he attacks and hates all women. If he criticizes a person who happens to be of a different race, then the activist leftist press reports that he condemned all people of that race, and all people of all races other than his own. If Trump strips an activist leftist of his press pass, or asks security to remove a rudely interupting, screaming and scolding leftist activist journalist from a press conference, the activist leftist fake news media report the silly lie that Trump is Hitler and has the goal of abolishing freedom of the press.

Okay, so now there's a report of the left's new Darling Dingbat shutting out the press. Gasp!!!

Apply the exact same standards and tactical fallacies of illicit transference that are applied to Trump, and what must we conclude about Ms Dingbat's views on the press as an institution, and its freedoms or lack thereof?

Jonathan,

There's a very popular criticism going around about this. It's so common sense, the leftist activist fake news media missed it.

And everybody is laughing at them for it. I paraphrase, but the gist is this:

The press organized against President Trump to combat his accusation that they organize against him.

:)

Dingbat doesn't like cause and effect. Hmmm. What does she think should be done about people losing their jobs because the economy can't afford to pay them what Dingbat demands? Even more government controls? More punishment? Violence? Is it time to openly advocate for violence yet?

Jonathan,

It's obvious.

Pretty soon I have no doubt she will come to the brilliant idea that the government should just give the laid off people money and get the owners of the coffee shop to pay their fair share to society by doubling their taxes, or hell, the government should even confiscate their coffee shops if need be.

She probably already thinks this, but knows saying it out loud will not result in good things for her at this moment.

Here's a "progressive" face on the November 6th Governor's ballot in Florida:

William,

At least it's an honest face and not the face of someone who had to cheat to get there (like Hillary Clinton did in the presidential race).

btw - Gillum's going to get creamed in the election, but I expect he will create a stir.

The fake news media thinks it is helping Gillum by taking an out-of-context quote to "prove" the racism of his opponent. The idiots don't understand the nature of this movement. Gillum's followers are misguided, but they have one thing in common with me. They are sick and tired of all the blatant media lying. So this fake news media effort will not land as expected.

Doubt me?

Andrew Gillum is no Hillary Clinton.

Watch how this plays out.

The other candidates ran ads constantly...but I never saw a single one from or about Gillum.  The ads were vicious, vying to establish their opponents were like Trump, had been friends of Trump, etc.  A Mexican standoff.  And the one left standing is the guy who never drew a gun.

There was one, by Levine, which featured punching sounds (preceded by a bell, like the start of a boxing round) punctuating its bullet points of how the candidate had beaten Trump over this or that.  It doesn't seem to have made it to YouTube.  Oh well, take my word for it, it was so over-the-top it was funny.

I got nothing in memory about Gillum, except that he is the mayor of Tallahassee and crushed opponents even with their outsized spending. I have only two suspect sources (Schale and Wilson) from which to glean the gossip going forward, but the race is at least interesting, with a somewhat unexpected win in the primary for Gillum. I do recall that voters can be fickle -- but I know next to nothing of the landscape for the governor race, save that a Presidential endorsement may have helped the GOP guy.

Looking to Ninth for updates closer to November.

Never!  But which opponent and what is the shelf-life of this item?

[Added:  video and quotes from the South Florida Sun Sentinel  ... It was a GOP-winner's expressive metaphor during a depiction of winner Gillum as not quite as stupid and socialist as the lady who won her primary and has big teeth and eyes the easier to eat you up, subject of the thread.

Here is what DeSantis said about Gillum:

“Florida elections are always competitive, and this is a guy who although he’s much too liberal for Florida, I think he’s got huge problems with how he’s governed Tallahassee, he is an articulate spokesman for these far left views, and he’s a charismatic candidate.

“I watched those Democrat debates and none of that is my cup of tea but he performed better than the other people there so we’ve got to work hard so that we continue Florida going in a good direction. Let’s build off the success we’ve had with Governor Scott.

“The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting the state. That is not going to work. That’s not going to be good for Florida.”

What did he do with his 7 smackers million spent, I wonder.  I expect Tallahassee has careened from one urban crisis to another under his stewardship. Then again, I cannot produce a single memory of what GOP guy did for a living before this day.

Levine has the charisma of a small patch of moss.  Or am I spoiled by low expectations, having such showboats as Justin and Jagmeet to mark against?

Just being a fairly straight-talking albeit 'progressive' Democrat sounds so .... familiar to a Canadian of my vintage. We've been having this stuff aired since Tommy Douglas was the socialist CCF premier of Saskatchewan and imposed single-payer health insurance on the outraged and satisfied alike.  Alright, I wasn't alive in 1945 when it first happened, but the rhetoric of ....

William,

What are you talking about? I was talking about Gillum. Although I didn't mention Bernie, Gillum is part of the Bernie wing of the Democrat party. They are the ones who are pissed about media lying.

The Hillary Clinton Wall Street Democrats love media lying (just like McCain Deep State Republicans love it).

That was my point.

I don't understand "which opponent," "shelf-life" and so on within this context.

So I don't know what you are getting at.

btw - The establishment Democrats are not going to go all in for Gillum. They can't stand Bernie people although they give lip service to them. And that will be one of the main obstacles Gillum will face, being that the other main obstacle will be the massive support for Trump and who Trump endorses in Florida. The nature of the ideas themselves will be the third big obstacle.

Man, you've got the repertoire of SJW knee-jerk reactions down cold.

Look, no actual Mexicans were harmed in this scene:

Hmm, so Gillum won the Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi's character) award for surviving.  And we're told he's a socialist, therefore a pinko.  Get it?  Now, where's the child molestation angle?

Yes, right out of the playbook, the non-sequitur segue.

I believe the next step is dependent on whether I react with an apology or a double-down.  In the case of apology:

But I forget, what comes after a double-down?
