Brant Gaede
Sounds like controlling and directing American power by European powers and without paying for any of it. --Brant (re William's last post)

studiodekadent
William, Just to let you know, I am for international free trade (complete free trade) and economic globalization. I am also for relatively open immigration (I support screening for communicable diseases and potential violent threats like Jihadism) and I support cultural cosmopolitanism (but not official multiculturalism; I see that as a 'keep to your own kind' pseudo-segregationism). My problem is with supranational layers of regulation and control. Things like the EU. Jurisdictional competition has been a fantastic ally to liberty and things like the EU ultimately reduce jurisdictional competition.

anthony
There are only multi-individuals. Who - also - happen to come from many cultural backgrounds. To define a person by a culture is incipient collectivism, and racialist, but that's what 'multiculturalists' have been aiming for - in order to circumvent/transcend individualism. Second stage, having succeeded with that, I think the globalist-progressivists dream of placing those "multi-cultures" into the melting pot, transcending those, in turn - and finally emerging with ... one Culture. No more 'differences' among [collectives of] people, therefore no cause for conflict and strife. Humanity and Gaia will then co-exist contentedly. (Shot of dawn sky, orchestra, roll credits). So they believe. Except. The great saving grace about humanity - reality and the human spirit remains and is as stubbornly individualistic as ever. It (ultimately) refuses to be controlled. In real life, she/he will go on as usual having neighborly spats with another just next door, or else just as easily they become friends. Personal choice determines which. Too bad for the Uni-Culturalists, their prescribed and imposed global Nirvana gets to fail before they begin.

I consider it to be collectivistic, neo-segregationist and an attack on the true diversity of cosmopolitanism.
