Trump humor

Recommended Posts

Carol,

I, personally, don't care much about the Khashoggi business. The fake news media is all in a fuss because God knows why. Hundreds of journalists are killed by Mexican drug cartels every year and not a peep out of anyone. Hell, many journalists themselves know this and still use the drugs the cartels provide.

This is all political bullshit. Saudi Arabia killed one of its own spooks who had gotten out of favor with the Royal Family. The spook ran, tried to cover his ass, but walked into a spook trap and got killed. That's the correct way to frame it. Why on earth WaPo hired a Saudi spook is beyond me. (I smell something awful that should be looked into at WaPo itself for doing that.)

Anyway, I don't believe the press, or even you, give two craps about Khashoggi per se. The essence of all the moral outrage and grandstanding is the following and nothing more.

Don't forget, this is the Trump Humor thread. So let's let 'er rip:

Oh.

I'm trying to figure out what kind of value this presents to the reader...

There's no argument. There's not even a fight that can entertain the reader.

It's like an animal dropping on the other side of the street...

Carol,

That's a hell of a way to insinuate what President Trump did.

I ain't buying it.

All I see from that kind of message is this:

Your hyperbole called out mine, cousin -- if you are doing analogies, like should be somewhat like. Admittedly I know nothing about Khashoghi (likely spelled wrong) but surely I would have heard if he had personally  caused the execution of a good chunk of  the European population. And the orange man was bad not to be revolted by torture and murder and say so, because I think in fact orange man is, if he would just think about it. Bullies' victims do not always deserve what they get.

That's right, just make shit up. Just outright lie.

Jonathan,

I would have used other words, but you saved me the effort. I was going to comment on that sentence. It's evident that Carol knows nothing about this case and nothing about President Trump's attitudes and actions relative to this case.

Her comments here are a very good case study of how core story (ideology) works to induce people to replace fact with an opposite opinion and believe they are stating fact, i.e., to let their brains run on autopilot while feeding it through osmosis.

Wait until she learns what NPC stands for...

You are not the only one.

The Senate has also voted to deny funding assisting Saudi prosecution of the war in Yemen:

but surely I would have heard if he had personally  caused the execution of a good chunk of  the European population.

Interesting seeing Senator Lindsey Graham Cracker so young. Impeachment and executive pardons add to the political fun. "Aahchoo. Pardon Moi," said President Trump. I was watching an old SNL at 10 before the new show at 11:30 that originated just after Trump's swearing in. It would be hard to imagine more hatred and vile humorless skits especially the fake newscast with Michael Shay (sp.) That guy just does "the news" and it is not funny. But it is awful. You can see the hatred and some sort of self righteous religiosity in his eyes.

Peter,

You will get no argument from me there. Michael Che is only funny (in the more recent times I've seen him) whenever he is not joking about race or politics. And when he does those two, his deadpans are funnier than anything he says.

SNL used to be into humor and satire, not just low-level mockery.

Now they are like old vaudeville shows in backwater counties.

When they do Trump or things related to a MAGA mentality, they get into the same level of humor as mocking Jews for big noses or orientals for slanted eyes. It's just not funny except to people who like that kind of mockery.

I had to watch that until the end. Brilliant! I think Bernie got red in the face, one snowflake was crying, and some were really having a hard time not yelling or becoming violent. It's like we are one mob scene away from the violent protests of the sixties only this time it is not a protest against an ill advised war, but a protest against peace, prosperity and freedom. The neo socialists were peaceful but just one split second away from a protest of spitting, screaming, and raging. How uncivil and childish.

Nobody can outdo President Trump in politics when it comes to entertainment.

This one is going to become a classic.

Looks like somebody was not amused. And it looks like this is going to be a classic for real.

Universal filed a copyright takedown notice on the REM song used in the political satire video. Fair use advocates are going on the rampage.

It's going to be very interesting to see how this pans out.

Meme Maker @CarpeDonktum and Fair Use Advocates Call on Trump Campaign to Sue After Video with R.E.M. Song is Disabled on Twitter

Mike Mills, the bassist for REM, told CarpeDonktum that he loved this song being used for meming because of his love for the First Amendment, although he was not a fan of President Trump.

Mills even apologized for calling CarpeDonktum an asshole earlier.

After this, the video in President Trump's tweet was deactivated by Twitter.

However, so far, the video is still available on YouTube.

Regardless of what happens, the Streisand effect has kicked in.

No amount of censorship attempt by Big Entertainment or Big Social Media will erase the spread of this baby.

It's going to become a rallying cry against them. Why? Because their archetype in this little story is "bully" and "Big Brother." That's how the majority is going to see it. And there is no way they can censor it out of existence. (Yup, there is no way they can "Big Brother" it out of existence. Not anymore. :) )

The tweet is now deleted from President Trump's account.

Now it's up and pinned.

Before it was retweeted. The pinned tweet is a direct tweet by President Trump. So it looks like some things got straightened out backstage.

Like for instance, he changed the music. Now Lee Greenwood is going to cash in.

God Bless the USA...

President Trump likes to win. :)

And it's still as funny as all hell.
