A Google like map of Mars

Very nice Bob...go to map overview and you can roll Mars like a marble...is that ice?

Polar Ice. The south pole of mars has much less ice than the north pole.

See if you can find Olympus Mons. Now there is a volcano!!!

That would be Olympia Mons

Go past that rock big and on the right you can see my house. Without terraforming humans would need to live below the surface and near polar ice and water. Visit our Orbital prefab factory and tour the premises. You are only a year away from Martian living after your sealed environment is dropped onto a lot you choose and where it is then sunk by automated bull dozers below the surface and connected to tunnels leading to other homes and the Galaxy Mall.

Lol, correct Robert...I just got beat with a nice passing shot!

Yes William, I know it is an ace, however, this is the only icon I have that comes close enough. I figured this would save you a lot of time researching all the possible semantics in tennis lore and the variables in the rules since the beginning of the game.

-- like I say, most of your smiley emoticons don't render in my browser. Something about a tennis ace. Okay. The spectacular thing about the Mars global mapping is a giggle about a Mons. Funny.

I think the images coming in from the NASA Pluto fly-by are apt to be more interesting -- we are seeing for the first time. Perhaps we will see Greek exotic dancers or Monses. Who knows. Here is the latest pic. Tomorrow the New Horizons will be at its closest.

The Wiki page has a spectacular animation rendering the fly-by, and the complexity of the imaging tasks. This is the direct link, and here is a snapshot. Try it out, it is very cool. These human beings are capable of astonishing things.

You are not going to believe what these cloud formations are called...

The Chicago skies were putting on quite the show on the night of June 22, 2015 when the Cubs were hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers for a baseball game at Wrigley Field (the Cubs would go on to win 4-2).

Cumulus Mammalia. The first thing a glider jock learns is to avoid flying into clouds like that. They are so turbulent they can reduce a glider to splinters in a thrice.

But not a Cessna 172 or 182.

Not a Cessna nor a Cumulus Mammatus, but the latest and best view of Pluto that anyone has seen. From NASA's New Horizons spacecraft:

Sign. It's been so long since I last saw home so close.

Plutonians live inside.

(But I found it's great to be an American!--it doesn't matter where you come from, Mars or a bar.)

I once blamed the phenomenon known as Brant on the demon alcohol but learned I was in error. Now I just accept the wonder and infinite variety of nature...

I don't drink much these days. Alcohol's too hard on the throat and even beer heads for my gut. So I go visit my neighbor lady for a glass or wine or two. It's cheap to her and free to me.

Unfortunately, she's gone to California for two weeks. I was going to go steal some but the store has these damn cameras everywhere. Bank ro-beer-y is out of the question. The only thing there is money. No whiskey. (My mind may be going.) Besides, I lost my crowbar.

The banks have cameras too. Drat! My whole life is criminal failure. If you're no good as a criminal, what's the point of going into business? I am going to sign up for this video course on "Kidnapping for Politicians: Make the Whole Country Yours in 30 Days." $999.
