Donald Trump

Now I agree with Obama on two things ! Equity crowd funding and the JOBS act , and the statement below .

"He knows how to get attention. He is, you know, the classic reality TV character, and at this early stage, it's not surprising that he's gotten a lot of attention," Obama said of Trump in an interview on CBS television's "60 Minutes" news program.

"I don't think he'll end up being president of the United States," Obama said in the interview, which aired on Sunday.

As to Obama on 60 Minutes:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">President Obama was terrible on <a href="https://twitter.com/60Minutes">@60Minutes</a> tonight. He said CLIMATE CHANGE is the most important thing, not all of the current disasters!</p>— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) <a href="

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Great, everyone is saying I did much better on <a href="https://twitter.com/60Minutes">@60Minutes</a> last week than President Obama did tonight. I agree!</p>— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) <a href="

So there. Take that!

Trump on Fox and Friends this morning:

He says the Democratic debate should be a snoozer (btw - that's Drudge's word, not his). He thinks the ratings will be all right, but not anything near to the ratings he got for the two GOP debates so far. And he believes most of the people who tune in will watch it for a few minutes, then switch channels.

He also talked about Obama's comment on 60 Minutes. He said that to be fair, Obama could not come out and say he would win. But he was saddened by the amount of negativity in all issues Obama dealt with.

And he says there is zero chance he will leave the race.

Obviously, he's right on all accounts.

Do anti-Trump people think the following video is not going to resonate with blacks?

Or that this is a fluke? The only one out there or one among very few?

Hell, it's just starting:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5-yY11Y8IWc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This happened at the rally in Georgia Saturday. The article is here (Gateway Pundit):

Ha!

So Obama is now talking about Trump not being president?

If he's not worried about it, why is he talking about it?

Does Obama, the president, discuss in public people who are irrelevant?

Hmmmmmmm?...

:smile:

Michael

good point !

I follow Carly on facebook and today had a conversation with a Carly critic. Turns out he is a democrat, he posted this:

"I will follow trump for the republican primary,, since he is the best candidate for the Democrats, but I will vote for Hillary Clinton....best candidate of either party by far, in my opinion"

Following the democrat rule of picking your opponent (with the help of MSM trashing those you don't want to run against) Obama's remarks are calculated to increase Trump's chances of being the republican nominee. Obama would not be giving Trump free publicity otherwise. Totally Machiavellian. The left encourages their more avid followers to seek out conservative social media and cause as much grief and doubt as possible. I'm sure this guy has been schooled on what the plan is. I'm amazed he just blurted it out. My reply:

"We live in different worlds...I think Hillary has a lot less chance of being the Dem pic than Carly the Republican. I've been fooled before. Let's compare notes in a few months. Best wishes. "

Mike,

If some Democrats want to do that, I'll take it. Far be it from me to stand in the way of a lemming running off a cliff.

:)

Imagine Trump with the establishment Republican machine forced to back him. It will be hilarious, but I bet many will swallow their pride and give it their all. As for the rest, I do hope they all remember the oath their favorite candidates signed.

Come on, Jeb and you RINOs!

You can do better than this!

If there's any doubt, it's uglier than it looks.

Read here:

Busted ! CNN Uses Jeb Bush Staffer Planted In Audience To Frame Donald Trump Narrative/Hit Job….
by sundance
October 13, 2015
Breitbart

From the article:

During an appearance at a Jon Huntsman “No Labels” event, a female audience member named Lauren Batchelder played the role of a female antagonist toward candidate Donald Trump.

However, Ms. Batchelder is not just an average audience member.  She’s a paid political operative of the GOP and a paid staff member of Team Jeb Bush...

. . .

Of course, Ms Batchelder quickly began scrubbing her social media history trying to hide who she works for.  Almost all of her Twitter history is now deleted, but not before much of it was able to be captured.  Several other profiles remain available:...

Who the hell does Jeb Bush and the establishment Republicans think they are, a Clinton?

Might as well get this one in, too.

Question: How does a politician neutralize the devastating humor of SNL on his or her campaign?

Answer: Host the goddam show.

Trump to host SNL next month

The Donald will be hosting Saturday Night Live on November 7.

I can't wait to see it.

How come other candidates haven't figured this one out?

By doing this stuff, I'm sure a lot of the country not yet on board will keep warming up to Trump.

Drip... drip... drip...

Ha!

Trump even profits off the debate of the Dems--more than the Dems.

Trump Picked Up More Followers During Debate Than All the Dems Combined
October 14, 2015
Happening Now
Fox News Insider

The big winner on social media during the Democratic debate was ... Donald Trump?!
The GOP frontrunner took to Twitter last night to live-tweet during the two-hour forum, and during that time, he added 70,000 new followers.

That's more than all of the Democratic candidates combined, "Happening Now" reported.

Here's the graphic:

10.14.2015-20.30.png

btw - I heard an interview where Trump said he regretted that he caved to several requests and told folks he would tweet during the debate. He would have vastly preferred to watch the Mets playoff.

I follow a bit of US politics. There are a lot of things I like about Trump. I just worry someone will pull a "JFK" on him if he starts to be a serious threat, but I guess the party would never give him the nomination in the first place.

Interesting.

Who/whom do you think pulled the original JFK in 1963?

Additionally, The Donald is presenting a serious problem for "the party."

Projecting The Donald's poll numbers in states where polling is being conducted, he would have 1195 out of the 2070 needed before April/May of 2016.

That is an important number because it places him in a position where he can block any other candidate.

Also leaves California and NJ on the plate for early June and The Donald already has Arnold in California.

I have no idea honestly. I have not studied it at enough detail to have a really informed opinion. Lets just say that my "gut feeling" is generally biased against simply believing the "official story" of any event. I think there is often more than meets the eye to things.

Fair enough.

Allow me to suggest that you might want to pose your "gut" feelings/instinct/judgment as a question.

Nice to have you here at OL...spent a week at the shore (NJ) with family and friends, one addition, was a 16 year old Swedish lady who was visiting with them.

Personally, I think Trump would win a primary vote in Maryland as of now, simply because the Tea Party is strong here and Trump represents the Washington outsider vote more than any other candidate. The last Real Clear Politics Maryland poll was back in February (from the Baltimore Sun???) and it is irrelevant. I think Jeb Bush was leading back then. A Republican Presidential candidate will not receive a majority of the votes in the general election in Maryland, though that person may win on The Eastern Shore of Delmarva. I have seen Trump, Carly and Carson bumper stickers, which is not a poll, but indicates support. A month ago I saw a Biden bumper sticker though he is not running, but none for Hillary Clinton so far.

When I read Atlas Shrugged for the first time, my Dad was in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Honolulu. I thought Ragnar deserved hanging and I still find him morally ambiguous. Howard Roark dynamited his own project with no loss of life, as did Francisco. John Galt and the other castaways had withdrawn their support for the increasingly totalitarian government but they were not killing troops. The protagonists did practice self defense.

A joke in my inbox. A motorcycle cop stops a driver for running a red light. The driver is a real jerk, steps out of his car, demanding to know why he is being harassed by the Gestapo! So the officer calmly tells him he had just ran a red light. The motorist instantly goes on a tirade, questioning the officer's ancestry, sexual orientation, etc., in rather explicit terms. The tirade goes on without the officer saying anything.

When the officer finishes writing the ticket he puts an "AH" in the lower right corner of the narrative portion of the ticket. He then hands it to the 'violator' for his signature. The guy signs the ticket angrily, and when presented with his copy points to the "AH" and demands to know what it stands for. The officer says, "That's so when we go to court, I'll remember that you're an asshole!"

Two months later they're in court. The 'violator' has a bad driving record and he is in danger of losing his license, so he hired a lawyer to represent him. On the stand the officer testifies to seeing the man run the red light. Under cross examination the defense attorney asks; "Officer is this a reasonable facsimile of the ticket that you issued to my client?"

Officer responds, "Yes, sir, that is the defendant's copy, his signature and mine, same number at the top."

Lawyer: "Officer is there any particular marking or notation on this ticket you don't normally make?"

"Yes, sir, in the lower right corner of the narrative there is an "AH," underlined."

"What does the "AH" stand for, officer?"

"Aggressive and hostile, Sir."

"Aggressive and hostile?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Officer, are you sure it doesn't stand for asshole?"

"Well, sir, you know your client better than I do.”

~~~How often can one get an attorney to convict his own client~~~~
Michael wrote: If Trump becomes president, I will take on Snowden as a cause and try to get his situation improved. Just like I will fight any attempts at eminent domain abuse. And I am sure I will not be alone.
In a Reason Magazine article mentioned on the Carly tread she is quoted as saying: I think Donald Trump, among others, has engaged in crony capitalism in its most raw and abusive form. When commercial interests get together with government to take away private property for their own commercial interests, that's a big problem. And I think I join so many conservatives in saying that eminent domain has been abused. And it has been abused by the collusion between governments eager for revenue and businesses eager for competitive advantage. So I find the Kelo case—if ever there was a case for judicial engagement instead of judicial restraint, it's this set of issues.
end quote
We may all know the story by now but the article explains how Trump met government officials in Atlantic City, New Jersey to seize and demolish the home of an elderly widow to make a limousine parking lot for the Trump Plaza hotel and casino, which is a textbook example of eminent domain abuse and "crony capitalism in its most raw and abusive form," as the article explains.
Michael wrote on Oct. 7th: Sarah Palin, Mark Levin, and these kinds of people who he is surrounding himself with are going to straighten him out over time (I truly believe this);
end quote
It's been ten days. The fact that Trump still thinks it was a perfectly good idea is a valid reason to NOT vote for him unless he wins the nomination. I agree we should fight his crony capitalism if it becomes evident during a Trump tenure as President, but if Hillary had come out supporting eminent domain there would have been more of a backlash from her socialist pals (oh, the poor proletariat) and from conservatives, so I don’t think our opposition should be less strident for Trump. The evidence is still mounting but it is outweighed by his better qualities and his (so far) demonstration of electability in the polls.
