My bad. He already signed it on July 3.

Just to emphasize the Executive Order, here is another link to it.

Executive Order on Building and Rebuilding Monuments to American Heroes

There is one hell of a booby trap in this Executive Order for a "National Garden of American Heroes" (the official name given). It is scheduled to be opened in 2026.

Quote

The National Garden should be opened for public access prior to the 250th anniversary of the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026.

This means after President Trump leaves office. The booby trap is that it ensnares the president who follows him with a huge project celebrating American history. I predict that the next president will be an American patriot and not an anti-American agent of change, so that is not really a booby trap. But should a leftie or other person with an ideology against American values be elected, this measure ensures a media shit-storm if such person tampers with it.

Another interesting thing is the definition of historically significant American.

Quote

The term “historically significant American” means an individual who was, or became, an American citizen and was a public figure who made substantive contributions to America’s public life or otherwise had a substantive effect on America’s history.  The phrase also includes public figures such as Christopher Columbus, Junipero Serra, and the Marquis de La Fayette, who lived prior to or during the American Revolution and were not American citizens, but who made substantive historical contributions to the discovery, development, or independence of the future United States.

Although some names were mentioned, the number of statues will be vast. Just to be a smart-ass, I bolded something. 🙂

Quote

Statues should depict historically significant Americans, as that term is defined in section 7 of this order, who have contributed positively to America throughout our history.  Examples include:  the Founding Fathers, those who fought for the abolition of slavery or participated in the underground railroad, heroes of the United States Armed Forces, recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor or Presidential Medal of Freedom, scientists and inventors, entrepreneurs, civil rights leaders, missionaries and religious leaders, pioneers and explorers, police officers and firefighters killed or injured in the line of duty, labor leaders, advocates for the poor and disadvantaged, opponents of national socialism or international socialism, former Presidents of the United States and other elected officials, judges and justices, astronauts, authors, intellectuals, artists, and teachers.  None will have lived perfect lives, but all will be worth honoring, remembering, and studying.

Also, this National Garden will have a central place to exist, but there will be much more all over the country.

Quote

(v)    The National Garden should be located on a site of natural beauty that enables visitors to enjoy nature, walk among the statues, and be inspired to learn about great figures of America’s history.  The site should be proximate to at least one major population center, and the site should not cause significant disruption to the local community.

(vi)   As part of its civic education mission, the National Garden should also separately maintain a collection of statues for temporary display at appropriate sites around the United States that are accessible to the general public.

The list of people President Trump provided as examples of American heroes made me jump for joy. I think this list was provided specifically because some of these individuals have been attacked or erased from school history books. (My bold.)

Quote

The National Garden should be composed of statues, including statues of John Adams, Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Daniel Boone, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, Henry Clay, Davy Crockett, Frederick Douglass, Amelia Earhart, Benjamin Franklin, Billy Graham, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King, Jr., Abraham Lincoln, Douglas MacArthur, Dolley Madison, James Madison, Christa McAuliffe, Audie Murphy, George S. Patton, Jr., Ronald Reagan, Jackie Robinson, Betsy Ross, Antonin Scalia, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, George Washington, and Orville and Wilbur Wright.

On a Personal Note

I have been bitching about the erasure of Daniel Boone from American history books since 2010.

He [Glenn Beck] mentioned on one of his shows that the new generation does not know who Daniel Boone was. I simply did not believe it until I asked Tina (Kat's daughter), who is now 20 years old. She never heard of Daniel Boone. What?!!!! And she is now in college. I was flabbergasted, but it's true. Those idiots--those progressive idiots on the school boards--are trying to do a Stalin on American history by doctoring the textbooks of children.

On 7/19/2010 at 11:08 AM, Michael Stuart Kelly said:

I'm far more worried about what kids have been learning--or not learning--about American History. Neither of Kat's kids (in their late teens), for instance, had ever heard of Daniel Boone when I asked them.

Daniel Boone, fer Krissssakes!!!

When I saw a Glenn Beck show where he said that they eliminated Daniel Boone (who was not a founding father, but he definitely has a place in American history) from public education, I commented about this to Tina, Kat's daughter, who is now in college. (I lived in Brazil for 32 years, so I missed a lot of stuff that went on here and I have only been with Kat for about 4 years.)

Our conversation went something like this:

ME: I start getting enthusiastic about Glenn Beck, then he says something so far out, it's hard to take him seriously. I just saw him say that they didn't teach your generation about Daniel Boon in high school. How ridiculous is that?
(chuckling in disbelief)

TINA: Who?

ME: Daniel Boone!

TINA: Never heard of him.

I looked at her in stupefaction. I thought: How dare they? Those sons of bitches really have been altering school history books! They're teaching the kids wrong on purpose as indoctrination!

On 10/20/2011 at 7:25 AM, Michael Stuart Kelly said:

Historical American figures like Daniel Boone were removed from the history books while people like labor leaders were given central stage. And all previous American historical heroes were taught as if they were nothing but exploiters and oppressors of the downtrodden at root.

On 3/18/2013 at 12:05 PM, Michael Stuart Kelly said:

Do you know who Daniel Boone is?

I know you didn't know who Pavlov was because you asked here on OL. With a proper high-school education, you should have learned that.

I once heard something on an old Glenn Beck show (before he turned into Moses 🙂 ) and was appalled.

I had been out of the US for half my life, so I didn't see how badly public education had become corrupted. Beck said modern school kids didn't know who Daniel Boone was because he was written out of history for kids. So I asked Kat's kids (now my step-kids). Neither of them had heard of Daniel Boone before. Who? (scratching their heads...) Aghast, I said Daniel Boone. Pioneer. Walt Disney had made a TV series out of him. A famous actor named Fess Parker played him.

(Daniel Boone was a man... yes a biiiiiiiiiig man... )

They just looked at me perplexed. They really had never heard of him and both were in high school at the time. One (Sean) thought I didn't know what the hell I was talking about because he was a huge fan of Disney products and what I said just couldn't have been true.

🙂

(What a Boone, what a doer, what a dream come-a-truer was heeeee... 🙂 )

That's just one indication, but it would be like them growing up and hearing that younger kids had never heard of Che Guevara.

They really did a leftie number on the Millennials.

If felt so damn good to hear President Trump say Daniel Boone's name in the Mount Rushmore speech and see his name in this Executive Order.

I bet there are a hell of a lot of Millenials scratching their heads and asking, "Who?"

🙂

Jon,

Scott has a leftie side that blinds him at times.

(For example, he thinks men weightlifters who become trans should be allowed to compete in official sports events against real women. Why? Because not all women are small. Blah blah blah...)

But, to the crux of his presupposition, President Trump's campaign is defending the American way of life. That could be considered backward-looking. (To me it isn't. Defense against an organized attack is present-looking and future-looking to me.) But one thing is not backward looking even in impression: Rebuilding America's Economy.

How is Rebuilding America's Economy and making it even greater than before not future-oriented?

If I thought about this a little, I could come up with a bunch of things.

Besides, if Kanye West did run for real, many of the blacks who like him like President Trump. So if they migrated their vote to Kanye, how would that help President Trump?

This is not one of Scott's best moments.

btw - Scott has a bug up his ass about President Trump's Mount Rushmore speech being called "unifying."

He thinks there are many who don't feel unified by American history, so presenting American history is not effective persuasion.

He doesn't see the erasure of history as a bad thing. And he thinks statues have no value at all, symbolic or otherwise.

I think I got all that right from the recent videos of him I've watched.

It's one of his weirder positions, seeing how he claims to be an expert at persuasion.

Kanye spent some time with Forbes ...

Kanye West Says He’s Done With Trump—Opens Up About White House Bid, Damaging Biden And Everything In Between

Quote

Kanye West’s Fourth of July declaration, via Tweet, that he was running for president lit the internet on fire, even as pundits were trying to discern how serious he was. Over the course of four rambling hours of interviews on Tuesday, the billionaire rapper turned sneaker mogul revealed:

  • That he’s running for president in 2020 under a new banner—the Birthday Party—with guidance from Elon Musk and an obscure vice presidential candidate he’s already chosen. “Like anything I’ve ever done in my life,” says West, “I’m doing to win.”
  • That he no longer supports President Trump. “I am taking the red hat off, with this interview.”
  • That he’s ok with siphoning off Black votes from the Democratic nominee, thus helping Trump. “I’m not denying it, I just told you. To say that the Black vote is Democratic is a form of racism and white supremacy.”
  • That he’s never voted in his life.
  • That he was sick with Covid-19 in February.
  • That he’s suspicious of a coronavirus vaccine, terming vaccines “the mark of the beast.”
  • That he believes “Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.”
  • That he envisions a White House organizational model based on the secret country of Wakanda in Black Panther.

And that’s just for starters. For much of the phone calls, his core message, strategically, was that he has 30 days to make a final decision about running for president. At that point, he says, he’d miss the filing deadline for most states, though he believes an argument could be made to get onto any ballots he’s missed, citing coronavirus issues. “I’m speaking with experts, I’m going to speak with Jared Kushner, the White House, with Biden,” says West. He has no campaign apparatus of any kind. His advisors right now, he says, are the two people who notably endorsed him on the Fourth: his wife Kim Kardashian-West, and Elon Musk, of whom he says, “We’ve been talking about this for years.” [...]

Here are a few salient quotes by Kanye West from the Forbes article I cherry-picked:

Quote

I would run as a Republican if Trump wasn’t there. I will run as an independent if Trump is there.

. . .

Trump is the closest president we’ve had in years to allowing God to still be part of the conversation.

. . .

That is a form of racism and white supremacy and white control to say that all Black people need to be Democrat and to assume that me running is me splitting the vote. All of that information is being charged up on social media platforms by Democrats. And Democrats used to tell me, the same Democrats have threatened me…. The reason why this is the first day I registered to vote is because I was scared. I was told that if I voted on Trump my music career would be over. I was threatened into being in one party. I was threatened as a celebrity into being in one party. I was threatened as a Black man into the Democratic party. And that’s what the Democrats are doing, emotionally, to my people. Threatening them to the point where this white man can tell a Black man if you don’t vote for me, you’re not Black.

. . .

A lot of times just like political parties they feel all Blacks have to be Democrat. This man, Joe Biden, said if you don’t vote for me, then you are not Black. Well, act like we didn’t hear that? We act like we didn’t hear that man say that? That man said that. It’s a rap. We gonna walk, all the people.

. . .

Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.

These things will not get him elected, but they sure will be internalized by a huge number of blacks who think differently right now.

Guess who that is going to hurt vote-wise?

I don't expect the establishment Dems (and anti-Trump Republicans, for that matter) to be buying many Ye albums anymore.

🙂

Kanye running isn't complicated. Trump has already gained almost half of the black population, it was unthinkable just a few years ago that anyone could do that. Historically 9X% of black votes went to Democrats. (Honestly, I don't think they like Trump, they just figured out how evil Democrats are and are angry at how fully conned they have been by DemocRats for generations.)

But the other half will still vote for any Democrat.

Unless ...

And now the Democrats have zero chance at survival.

People like Billy who do not like this turn of events and what it really means will turn themselves inside out and post the stupidest articles ever conceived on the topic before acknowledging what is really happening and what it means for their side.

Old Hickory Clinton is holding her second fund raiser for sleepy Joe. I presume Old Hickory Clingon will accept  the VP slot, (if asked) and unfortunately she may bring in some votes for the democrats.  I will be watching the polls. Has anyone heard when Biden might name his second in command? Camilla, Hillary, and whoever is still out there and is female may all be in the running.

If he indeed starts his campaign with an exposure of what the Clintons and their global machine did to Haiti and her millions of children, then we are in for the most exciting and consequential election in this country since Lincoln 1860. 48 million black Americans will peacefully protest nationwide throughout Trump's second term until that machine is fully dismantled, all players executed. History will record that many people called the end of the Party years earlier, but it was Donald Trump's friend Kanye West who put the final nail in the coffin.

The Dream

The left is crowing because, according to them, the Supreme Court said President Trump has to turn over his tax records to the New York DA.

He's done for now. Now it's gonna happen.

Finally they can get rid of him.

Finally they've got him in a trap he can't get out of.

Just wait. Just wait.

The Reality

Well, waiting is what they are going to have to do.

The Supreme Court decision did not say President Trump had to turn over his tax records.

It said the House made a bullshit case, so the case has to go back to the lower courts to put in what it left out, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd the House ain't gonna see President Trump's tax records before November.

And it said, for the New York DA case, the President does not have absolute immunity from subpoena (which was a bullshit claim by Trump's team as a delay tactic), that the President is not above the law, so they are going to have to bicker about things more in the lower courts, annnnnnnnnnnnnnd the NY DA ain't gonna see President Trump's tax records before November.

What it means

President Trump knows his tax records will eventually become public. He just didn't want them public before reelection so they can't be used as election propaganda. Now that he got what he wanted, and the anti-Trumpers lost everything in terms of what value his tax records had for them, I doubt anyone will pursue this issue further with any enthusiasm at all.

Also, that thing about the President not being immune from subpoenas might get picked up and used to get financial records from former President Obama and his main peeps.

🙂

Tax investigation will be made applicable to all in government, first. And made applicable to spouses and children. Then it will be used to take down countless traitors in government. They are being baited into it with this tax returns game he initiated years ago.

(There's nothing there on him -- search your heart, really -- why would there be something there but no one at IRS leaked it to Schiff so Trump could be removed from office back during impeachment?)

And there's this.

Mark Levin: Republicans Should Subpoena the Tax Returns of Every Supreme Court Justice

Quote

In three tweets on Thursday, conservative talk show host Mark Levin explained how the Supreme Court's 7-2 decision on the president's tax returns could (and should) come back to haunt the justices:

"The Supreme Court just opened itself up to congressional demands for the individual justices' tax returns," Levin tweeted shortly after the ruling was handed down.

"I can see a situation in which the House or the Senate decides that it must have access to all of the justices' tax and financial records each year to determine if they're influences in any way to write the decisions they write or vote the way they vote on numerous cases.

"The justices will not be able to argue that they are immune as a matter of separation of powers as they just shot down that argument as applies to the president."

. . .

Levin noted that Chief Justice John Roberts "is a man of some wealth."

"So can we see his tax returns? I just wish the Republicans would get smart about how they address these issues. Go ahead and subpoena the tax returns of every Supreme Court justice and say we have a legislative purpose.

You're another branch of government, the president's another branch of government. Use the propagator that's been used by Nancy Pelosi: We're not saying you committed any criminal acts or anything of the sort, but we'd like to know, just to make sure that we know how to legislate.

So they ought to subpoena the tax returns of the Supreme Court justices. Particularly these seven politicians on the court. Go back eight years, just like the D.A. in Manhattan.

What else should they do? Well, the Speaker of the House ought to release her tax returns...We want to see Nancy Pelosi's tax returns, just to make sure everything's kosher."

I have a feeling several of these Supreme Court Justices will rue the day they allowed the Supreme Court to get involved in this mess to take down President Trump. Mark Levin said on an interview last night with Hannity that politicians go to Washington to become rich. President Trump went there to lose money.

And it makes sense. If these different people want to see the tax returns of a government office-holder who was wealthy before he took office and lost money after he took office, how about looking into the finances of people who were not rich before taking office, but who are now incredibly rich?

Just as Mark Levin is putting this stuff out there, how many high-powered law firms are preparing relevant cases? Or organizations like Judicial Watch? Hmmmm?...

I can see a legal bloodbath coming...

🙂

Oh, your tax money went to research, alright.

"Thursday’s indictment charges Zheng with grant fraud for not disclosing that he was engaged in a scheme to use approximately $4.1 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to help the Chinese government. Zheng is also charged with making false statements about his employment in China at the same time he was employed at Ohio State University, among other universities."
