Don't you just love hearing Mary Landrieu squeal like a stuck pig!!

Acknowledging the importance of energy to Louisiana’s economy, Landrieu and Cassidy have championed completion of the pipeline, which would transport oil from the tar sands of Canada to the Texas Gulf Coast. The GOP-controlled House voted several times in recent years to support the pipeline, while the Senate, in deference to the administration’s review, has resisted holding a vote on the matter despite strong objections from several moderate Democratic senators from rural or energy-rich states.

For six years, the pipeline has been under review by the State Department, which has jurisdiction because the project crosses international borders. Democrats such as Landrieu from energy-producing states have joined Republicans in calling for its approval.

Oink, oink...squeal like a pig!!

And she looks so porky!

There is a picture in this link with Hilary and Landrieu raising hands together ... all I can think of is we will need a much bigger trough for these two...

All in all, a good article on that runoff special election...this baby is all about turnout...

Landrieu communications director Fabien Levy told MailOnline that the GOP's glasses are rose-colored past the point of credibility.

But he wouldn't share any of the Democrat's own internal poll numbers.

'What our numbers show is that Mary Landrieu is in a good position to win big on Dec. 6, just as she's won all of her other close races,' Levy said in a phone interview.

He took issue with the automated nature of the Magellan Strategies poll, which asked respondents to answer questions by pushing telephone buttons instead of talking with a pollster.

Magellan principal Jon Diez confirmed via email that his firm ran a 'push-button' poll for Cassidy's team.

Diez's resulting memo discloses that 1,917 people provided answers, and assigns a 2.2 per cent margin of error to the result.

Levy said that in the Landrieu campaign, 'we don't do automated' polls – only more traditional surveys.

Diez countered with the email equivalent of a shoulder-shrug.

'As with live surveys, there is no way to guarantee that each respondent is honest in their responses,' he said.

Diez also explained that his sample is balanced for race and other demographic features when phone numbers are culled from public voting records.

This highlighted section is a significant debate in the political polling community.

One argument is that you get better results because of the annonymity of the response. However, you have no clue as to whether that person is the voter or the nanny.

Again, this one is not about polls, it is pure ground game and efficiency in delivering your pre identified voter to the polls.

I have a feeling this one is going to have some strong legs and do some real damage. The right wing has been bitching that there is no mainstream press coverage of Gruber's comments. But this coverage is just now starting to happen, not as cover-up spin but as news, and I expect there will be a lot of it soon.

It's no end of fun watching devious schemes unravel... and the perpetrators do it to themselves.

When did healthcare become the insurance ?

When people expected others to pay their bills.

Greg,

I love the fact that you keep hammering this home.

It's an obvious point, but I get the impression from the general culture that once people have identified it and said that's bad (waaaay back when), they don't have to think about it any more--they can use it as a premise so long as they don't talk about it or recognize it.

Then intellectuals, pundits, politicians and so on devise incredibly sophisticated arguments both for and against things like the health care laws, they hog the public voice space with these controversies, they make one feel stupid because one has not read or analyzed a boat-load of technical material, they bring out visceral tribal us-against-them feelings by framing everything as an attack, and the original obvious idea seems buried and entrenched in our culture. A done deal.

Then you come along...

:)

Keep Hillary Alive - the Mook Mafia campaign managers...potentially...

Copies of a cache of the emails obtained by ABC News, and revealed publicly for the first time, show Mook and Marshall demonstrating an aggressive tone in rallying their friends behind political causes, in exchanges that are often self-mocking and sometimes border on being profane.

They include rallying cries to, in Mook’s words, “smite Republicans mafia-style,” and, to quote Marshall, “punish those voters.” Mook sometimes calls himself “Deacon” in the emails, while Marshall, now a senior White House aide, refers to himself as “Reverend” in many of the exchanges.

And..

The private emails were provided to ABC News by a Democrat on the listserv who has worked alongside Mook and Marshall on previous campaigns. The person who provided the emails is, like the vast majority of those on the listserv, supportive of Hillary Clinton, but does not support the idea of Mook or Marshall holding leadership roles in a second presidential bid. They were provided on the condition of anonymity.

That the emails are emerging publicly reflects the ferocious intra-battle to populate the top positions of an expected Clinton campaign.

Neither Mook nor Marshall responded to requests for comment. ABC News first reached out to both men Thursday morning, by email and phone.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/exclusive-read-secret-emails-men-run-hillary-clintons/story?id=26898758&singlePage=true

Believe me these two (2) very representative of campaign managers at that level.

From the macro-economic perspective this is the problem of third-party payers. It's all over the place, including public education. The government comes in and the individual goes out. The "government money" comes in and so do the controls and prices go up. As the prices go up more public funds come in to solve the "problems" and the prices go up some more. College education has become a complete financial joke. If the automobile industry were completely controlled and hog-tied by the government, a Toyota--a badly made Toyota--would cost nearly $200,000 and we'd be forced to buy transportation insurance to pay for our bus rides.

My my, such a good littlee fascist - he gets his - so he is in the 1% that we are supposed to hate...hmm

Minnesota, for example, used federal Obamacare grants to pay Mr. Gruber to attend one meeting, participate in a biweekly email list and print a copy of the report, all for $329,000. Wisconsin paid Mr. Gruber $400,000 for the same material, requested by the office of then-Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat. When the report was presented, Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican, didn’t want Mr. Gruber at the news conference. Vermont is paying him another $400,000. Such a deal!

West Virginia, Maine, Colorado and Oregon have partaken of Mr. Gruber’s services, too, guaranteeing him a tidy sum. The money bought lies and deception. That’s Mr. Gruber’s characterization, not ours. “If you had a law which made it explicit that healthy people are going to pay in and sick people get money,” said Mr. Gruber, “it would not have passed.”

Read more: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/nov/13/editorial-jonathan-grubers-payday/#ixzz3J3NviW3l

So let me get this straight, this slug consciously lied to Congress, fraudulently represented testimony to Congress and he is not in handcuffs...hmm

Maybe when the President hears about this, he will get really really mad!!

See...

The White House is denouncing comments from key Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber that a lack of transparency and the stupidity of voters helped in the passage of the health care law and is instead pointing a finger at Republicans.

“The fact of the matter is, the process associated with the writing and passing and implementing of the Affordable Care Act has been extraordinarily transparent,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest said during a news briefing in Myanmar, according to a transcript provided by the White House.

Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2014/11/jonathan-gruber-obamacare-voters-white-house-response-112856.html#ixzz3J4xxtsKj

The White House "VIGOROUSLY," yes, vigorously...

“I disagree vigorously with that assessment,” Earnest responded when asked about Gruber’s claim that Obamacare wouldn’t have passed if the administration was more transparent and voters more intelligen

Moreover, it is the Republicans fault!

He added, “It is Republicans who have been less than forthright and transparent about what their proposed changes to the Affordable Care Act would do in terms of the choices are available to middle class families.”

See how mad he is!

Glenn Beck interviews Rich Weinstein.

It's refreshing how Glenn did not squirm when Weinstein told him he had sent this material to Pat and Stu last year. They all joked about it (about killing their staff off and so on), but, setting aside the humor, I had the same feeling as Dagny Taggart telling Ellis Wyatt, "You will get the transportation you need, Mr. Wyatt."

They owned up without rancor and without pause and said the door is wide open to anything he's got.

I bet when Weinstein tries to nail others who will now interview him, complaining he sent this stuff in to them last year and they ignored him, they will hem and haw and try to make all kinds of excuses about why it's not their fault.

Another humorous moment came when Weinstein responded to Glenn telling him the administration's argument for canceling his insurance was that he had a junk insurance plan. He said: "Don’t think I’m trying to be cocky or anything. I’m an investment adviser. I have an accounting degree. I have an MBA. I have an insurance license. My wife has an MBA — I’m qualified to figure out what kind of insurance to have."

Glenn made a very serious point that will probably get buried in this clip, so I want to mention it. He said Weinstein's journey is why it's so important NOT to regulate the Internet. Anybody--even the simplest person with no connections--can come up with something important and persist and persist and persist until he gets heard. The Internet allows the person to do that. Before, he would have been squelched. Good reason for the powerful to want to control the web...

Here is the video of Gruber discussing the “mislabeling” of parts of Obamacare to ensure passage. (Starts around the 25:20 mark.)

Read more at http://eaglerising.com/11403/6th-jonathan-gruber-video-explaining-liberals-deliberately-mislabeled-aspects-obamacare-mask-actual-costs/#mmAjvyckVvgBvPTS.99

“He has done us all a favor by affording us an unvarnished look into the progressive mind, which values complexity over simplicity, favors indirect taxes and impositions on the American public so their costs can be hidden, and has a dim view of the average American… An assumption that Americans are incompetent is woven into the Left’s worldview. It is reluctant to entrust individuals with free choice for fear they will exercise it poorly and irresponsibly.”

http://eaglerising.com/11403/6th-jonathan-gruber-video-explaining-liberals-deliberately-mislabeled-aspects-obamacare-mask-actual-costs/

He actually states that we do not know what is going to happen.

He literally loves the opportunity to use all the citizens of the US as guinea pigs for their progressive plans.

One charming premise that he actually makes is that Congrress will have to keep its promises for this progressive marxist wet dream to work...really? What an imbecile.

Fast talkers should be suspect unless they are Buckminster Fuller.

He also let's the 2018 monster out of the cave in that he specifically states that the unions are going to have to figure out a way to fill the trillion dollar hole that is coming.

The second way “to get rid of” the tax subsidy was simply to have the tax begin "late, starting in 2018. But by starting it late, we were able to tie the cap for Cadillac Tax to CPI, not medical inflation," Gruber said. CPI is the consumer price index, which is lower than medical inflation.

Gruber explains that by drafting the bill this way, they were able to pass something that would initially only impact some employer plans though it would eventually hit almost every employer plan. And by that time, those who object to the tax will be obligated to figure out how to come up with the money that repealing the tax will take from the treasury, or risk significantly adding to the national debt.

"What that means is the tax that starts out hitting only 8% of the insurance plans essentially amounts over the next 20 years essentially getting rid of the exclusion for employer sponsored plans," Gruber said. "This was the only political way we were ever going to take on one of the worst public policies in America."

Unions and employers who object in 2018, he noted, "at that point if they want to get rid of it they're going to have to fill a trillion dollar hole in the deficit...It's on the books now."

Again this proves correct the premise of Gruber’s argument – that the liberal designers of Obamacare were indeed LYING while crafting the bill.

Gruber is just a wonderful fount of negative evidencee...

We and other critics wrote about ObamaCare’s budget gimmicks during the debate, and Rep. Paul Ryan exposed them at the 2010 “health summit.” President Obama changed the subject.

But rarely are liberal intellectuals as full frontal as Mr. Gruber about the accounting fraud ingrained in ObamaCare. Also notable are his do-what-you-gotta-do apologetics: “I’d rather have this law than not,” he says.

As we all recall, five (5) yearrs ago...

The White House wanted to pretend that the open-ended new entitlement would spend less than $1 trillion over 10 years and reduce the deficit too. Congress requires the budget gnomes to score bills as written, no matter how unrealistic the assumption or fake the promise. Democrats with the help of Mr. Gruber carefully designed the bill to exploit this built-in gullibility.

So they used a decade of taxes to fund merely six years of insurance subsidies. They made-believe that Medicare payments to hospitals will some day fall below Medicaid rates. A since-repealed program for long-term care front-loaded taxes but back-loaded spending, meant to gradually go broke by design. Remember the spectacle of Democrats waiting for the white smoke to come up from CBO and deliver the holy scripture verdict?

You know I am beginning to see just how self delusional a significant portion of American citizens are voluntarily ignorant of what is happening to them....

move over frog so I can sit with you in the warm water...

The CBO director responsible for this switcheroo that moved much of ObamaCare’s real spending off the books was Peter Orszag, who went on to become Mr. Obama’s budget director. Mr. Orszag nonetheless assailed CBO during the debate for not giving him enough credit for the law’s phantom “savings.”

Then again, Mr. Gruber told a Holy Cross audience in 2010 that although ObamaCare “is 90% health insurance coverage and 10% about cost control, all you ever hear people talk about is cost control. How it’s going to lower the cost of health care, that’s all they talk about. Why? Because that’s what people want to hear about because a majority of Americans care about health-care costs.”

The CBO and its Keynsian perversions needs to be eliminated or replaced with an objective agency, if an objective agency can ever exist in that Washington swamp:

Both political parties for some reason treat the CBO with the same reverence the ancient Greeks reserved for the Delphic oracle, but Mr. Gruber’s honesty is another warning that the budget rules are rigged to expand government and hide the true cost of entitlements. CBO scores aren’t unambiguous facts but are guesses about the future, biased by the Keynesian assumptions and models its political masters in Congress instruct it to use.

Republicans who now run Congress can help taxpayers by appointing a new CBO director, as is their right as the majority. Current head Doug Elmendorf is a respected economist, and he often has a dry wit as he reminds Congressfolk that if they feed him garbage, he must give them garbage back. But if the GOP won’t abolish the institution, then they can find a replacement who is as candid as Mr. Gruber about the flaws and limitations of the CBO status quo. The Tax Foundation’s Steve Entin would be an inspired pick.

I am actually completely dumbfounded as to how this guy is not under indictment based on his own big mouth.

He is only giving people what they demanded.

A nation populated with failures who expect someone else to pay their bills is unsustainable. It's a Ponzi scam. People believe the lie that if they demand the government to force everyone into the Pyramid, it will work. So the government gives them what they demand...

...and it's perfect moral justice that they should get it.

Have we become this corrupted?

Perhaps a better question to ask is: Have they become this corrupted? The answer is Yes. The vector of America is directly to "as it was in the days of Noah", and when it stinks to high heaven enough, the toilet gets flushed... again.

Just don't be in the bowl when it happens.

Perhaps a better question to ask is: Have they become this corrupted? The answer is Yes. The vector of America is directly to "as it was in the days of Noah", and when it stinks to high heaven enough, the toilet gets flushed... again.

Just don't be in the bowl when it happens.

Correct.

Every time has its "signs" and some folks actually take the time to read them.

There was a recent Pew poll wherein 40% of women did not want a job...39% of "youth" and 28% of men.

Pew said that 39 percent of 16- to 24-year-olds don’t want to work, up from 29 percent in 2000.

Women especially don’t want a job, but men have similar feelings.

“Women are more likely than men to say they don’t want a job, although the gap has been narrowing — especially since the Great Recession. Last month, 28.5 percent of men said they didn’t want a job, up from 23.9 percent in October 2000 and 25.2 percent in October 2008. For women, the share saying they didn’t want a job hovered around 38 percent throughout the 2000s but began creeping up in 2010, reaching 40.2 percent last month,” said the Pew analysis.

That would support your poiint.

We have only been able to eeliminate one entittlement in the history of entitttlements.

Once it is encystedin the regulations, the only way to remove it is politically approaching impossible.

Please let me sit on the jury when this effete marxist is put on trial

Yeah. And please let me prosecute his sentence...I'd be happy to be the hangman.

I am actually completely dumbfounded as to how this guy is not under indictment based on his own big mouth.

Have we become this corrupted?

This prick just gets worse and worse:

Check this video out!

Contrary to Gruber’s snarky insult, the comment was not written by an adolescent.

“It was actually written by a former senior policy adviser in the White House who knew something about health care systems,” said John McClaughry, a two-term Vermont state senator and adviser to President Ronald Reagan in the 1980s.

“No one should trust this man,” McClaughry said. “Based on the rest of the stuff that’s come out on the videos, nobody can trust this guy. He has no use for transparency. He thinks people are stupid, and he’ll do anything to get this thing through and pocket his $400,000. That’s not in the interest of the people of Vermont.”

Adam,

You beat me to it.

Gruber is essentially laughing at a Vermont voter who wonders about how much this will cost. His message to this voter is not only shut up and sit down, but you are proof of how stupid Vermont voters are.

Michael

Yep and 400,000.00 to tell them this!

It's a good thing he is a good little marxist and is working for "the people."

He is one of Plato's gold citizens...

I would love to hear from PDS as to his criminal exposure on this.
