Samson Corwell
The forbidden railway: Vienna - PyongyangI always find other cultures to be fascinating. To be a fly on the wall in North Korea would present so many opportunities to study this curious little nation. Somehow it has managed to remain a totalitarian regime into the twenty-first century. I wonder if this is so because of its size.Anyway, the blog that I link to here presents an account of one foreigner's trip in the Hermit Kingdom via a train system that connects to Vienna, Austria. He has taken some fascinating photographs from inside the machine. There's a ****ing soldier-cop on every road.

I wonder if this is what a neutered Soviet Union or Nazi Germany looks like. Think they brought back any postcards?I live in good old Rhode Island.
