Finally I can retire

Recommended Posts

I just read on Oonline, and they ought to know, that the world's foremost authority on Most People, Dr Leonard Peikoff, has announced that they all stop thinking at age 30. Those poor creatures! LuckilyI do not know any Most People, although Dr P has obviously observed all of them.

Do I detect a note of sarcasm here.

Good old Lenny. He is second rate. As second raters go he is third rate.

i have heard some people say that personality and beliefs rarely change after a certain age. A sociology professor would say it like "Personality remains consistent throughout the life course". I took a class on aging and that more or less seems to be true about earlier generations.

He'd be a first rate Leonard Peikoff except he decided in 1986 not to be that.

But he hitched up too tight with AR automatically making him at least second rate to her. The problem is NB was there first with the second in all respects leaving him third rate to the second rate to the first rate. This makes him a third rate second rater.

I know, it sounds complicated and confusing, but that's why I'm here: you sent out the signal!

a second rate first rater or a first rate second rater--still trying to make sense of myself

I have the same personality I've always had but maturation and education leads to more and different expressions of that. X-beliefs it's character that's malleable--for better or worse.

have character be a character (the fist first is for fighting the second for fun)

Objectivists should have a dollar sign search light sending out the call for John Galt to come and Save The Day.

One of my favorite lines. Thank you.

The other such line was by Churchill: There by the grace of God, goes God.

Daunce, Peik stated at a public lecture that until he's 'got' someone by 18, he will never be able to fully trust him or her.

Oonline, that hotbed of cutting-edge intellectual innovation, has debuted another Most People expert who specialises in Most Muslims in the World. They are, he has discovered, Not Good People, no good at all.

This soon-to-be renowned authority is called Garshasp (maybe D Bandler nom-de-keyboard?)and I am guessing he is over 30.

  • 1 month later...

Just came across this thread again. Must agree with Brant, I was the same person from age 17-18 on, and Peikovianism at second hand could not change me, however I accepted the logics of Objectivism. People will think for themselves and be themselves always, however much they respect the Others who tell them how to be.
