Jerry Biggers
Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, in a TV interview last February), is asked about Obama's programs being thrown-out after he leaves office, and her response is that Obama is assembling a data base ("so large that it has never been seen before") on Americans that will ensure continuance of Obama's authoritarian socialist agenda and expand it. (SEE THE LINK BELOW) (Note for those that do not trust the Breitbart" websites, this same story is all over the internet today)http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2013/06/09/Breitbart-Flashback-Maxine-Waters-Reveals-Obams-Secret-Data-Base-Filled-With-Voters-Private-Info
Kyle Jacob Biodrowski
One would think the Obama administration would have learned to keep Maxine Waters 5000 ft. away from any microphones, video recorders, social networking sites, etc. (not to mention, interviews!). Are they so sure of themselves? So confident that they may speak freely without fear of a majority of Americans kicking their asses?
Jerry Biggers
Maxine Watters was on a cable program or network that is relatvely small in terms of its viewing audience. That may partially account for her comment being ignored and there is the factor as you said of her being sort of a loose cannon, prone to wild statements. But notice this- Congresswoman Waters in her revelation of a database being constructed that "no one has ever seen before ", made no reference at all that its purpose was for national security or against terrorists. It is quite clear that she thought, or was told, that this super database was to be used in the next election.
Reidy
Maxine Waters is a crackpot. Don't you think this story would have made the news if it were worth taking seriously?
Jerry Biggers
Crackpots are allowed in the Democratic Party. It may even be a requirement. Some Republicans are working hard to catch-up.But what's your point? Even if she is certifiably "psycho-ceramic," and was ignored by the media, she was basically accurate in her description of "the Obama administration constructing the largest database ever seen" (or words to that effect) on American citizens sounds like a pretty accurate description of PRISM. And in her mind (read the context), its construction was not to counter terrorism, but to be "useful" in the next election to defeat attempts to overthrow the Obama agenda.. I mean, how would she know? The Breitbart story seemed a case of mistaken identity of some sort. The American Thinker says in its story on kookiepants Waters that she was likely not talking about PRISM, but was instead talking about an electoral database ... information collected by the Democrats/Obama campaign on voters, intentions, etcetera -- a rolling database of everything the Democrats can find out about folks on the voters list -- for use in electoral campaigns. Have a gander at the story and see what theory seems to fit the facts ...
Jerry Biggers
Bill, Thanks for the link to the (somewhat pretentiously-titled) The American Thinker. That's a very interesting article, with a lot of speculation as to what Maxine Waters was referring to. But was/is the Obama campaign org that is being referred to, connected to, or can be connected, to PRISM and/or other Orwellian wannabe databases lurking around D.C.. The fact that they have access to a veritable smorgasbord of databases is not very comforting. (Memo to Mr. PRISM. or other monitoring agencies: I am sure that you have our best interests to heart.) Or, it could be that Maxine thinks any computer system larger than her TRS-80 is awesome.Anyway, the Republican congressional leaders have all come out assuring us that they would never let NSA and/or PRISM be used for anything other than spying on enemies of the State. (Of course, they mean Al Qaeda-types,.......right?)I feel better already.
