Once in Every Lifetime

by Roger E. Bissell

1978

Once in ev'ry lifetime, someone comes along,

Someone who makes love a song that knows no ending.

Someone you're at home with, someone who is real,

Shows you how she really feels without pretending.

Arms to lose yourself in, when the day's been long.

Hands to help you find the way, when ev'rything's gone wrong.

So, when you find your someone, never let her go.

Let her know she's the one you've waited for.

Wow. Roger, thank you for sharing these poems. This one in particular does an excellent job of portraying the thoughts that come to mind when you look across a table, or a sofa, or a room at at that one person, and realize what they mean to you.
