Fred Cole
I am a podcast junkie. I have a job where I can listen pretty much 40 hours per week. And I listen when I walk anywhere, or go shopping, or anywhere where I can, really. So I have a large collection of podcasts I listen to, but there's never enough, so I'm always looking for more (I actually just discovered one a new one to love).So...What podcasts does everyone listen to? I'm always looking for reccomendations.I present my own list of podcasts that I listen to regularly. 9thdoctor
Damn, that's a big list. Why not get audiobooks? The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire will keep you busy for a long time. Audible.com is a good deal.

Fred Cole
I've done audio books. That's how I've done all the Heinlein I've done. Audio is also how I did Atlas (pro tip: It's muuuuuch easier as an audio book).Thing is... I don't like paying for audio, so I'm not gonna do audible. What do I do? I manage the records center for a local paper shredding company. The records dept consists of just myself. So I'm alone to do my thing. Plenty of listening time. Music won't do because I'd get bored with it and I want to be able to hear the phone when it rings. I use podcasts to keep my mind active and use all those hours to learn. I have a wide variety of podcasts, so I get a lot of different information and ideas.
9thdoctor
Thing is... I don't like paying for audio, so I'm not gonna do audible.Well, there's always Librivox, that's free but oftentimes the readings are just god-awful. I tried to listen to The Golden Bough, and the guy had this Scandinavian accent, ugh! Hate to ask, but if you don't like paying for audio, how'd you come by all that Heinlein...actually, never mind. Right now I'm doing Mark Twain's A Tramp Abroad, read by Grover Gardner, there's no one better than him.
Fred Cole
Yeah, I've noticed Librivox has a big variance in quality. I'm less of a fan.
starrynightlife
Looks like a good list. One of my favorites that doesn't appear on your list is Rationally Speaking. Science, philosophy, but mostly philosophy of science. Great hosts. The Atheist Experience is usually entertaining, but its call-in format makes the quality highly variable.
