  1. Merlin quoted: “The evidence for convalescent plasma relies on more than a dozen observational studies and clinical trials that don’t meet the randomized placebo standard.” end quote Keep up the good work but I may sit that test out. I will focus on, and wait for, news of a tested vaccine. I get flu shots from Walgreens or CVS pharmacies usually so when they have it? Here is an interesting quote about relevancy. Peter Near the beginning of Arthur Conan Doyle's “A Study in Scarlet”, Sherlock Holmes, after being told of the Copernican theory and the composition of the solar system, s
  2. From Real Clear Politics. National polls. On August 25, 2016, Hillary Clinton was ahead of President Trump by 6.0 percent. On August 25, 2020 Biden is ahead of President Trump by 7.6 percent. I checked some battleground states and it looks like Biden is currently ahead in all of them but North Carolina, Texas, Georgia, and Iowa. It will be interesting to see if there are changes after the last day of the Republican Convention. Peter Battle for the White House RCP Poll Averages Election 2020 Biden Trump
  3. From Fox News. Donald Trump Jr. warns of ‘silenced majority’ as RNC speakers say freedom, safety on the line in November/ Paul Steinhauser I like the sound of ‘SILENCED MAJORITY.’ In other news I received a chain email from President Trump but he asked me to not “share it,” and I won‘t.
  4. Orating soldiers? I was thinking of Levin, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. I would not want to debate them. I didn't watch the GOP program tonight because it seemed like it might be boring. And Season one episode four of Grimm was about to come on. I may watch some of the rest of the GOP"s shows, or just the highlights. I thought of a joke and it actually got a laugh. Biden is staying in Rehoboth Beach Delaware tonight. That's about 45 minutes away from where I live. If you are a local and someone asks about Rehoboth you always tell them, "There's a hobo in Rehoboth, so they will know how to
  5. Thanks. This is one area that the Q spoofers could get away with since Q is never identified.
  6. You could play some of the beautiful “Clair de Lune” with that instrument. Claude Debussy (22 August 1862 – 25 March 1918) was a French composer. He is sometimes seen as the first Impressionist composer, although he vigorously rejected the term. He was among the most influential composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
  7. "I am Spartacus!" I can't tell if that is Barron Trump or not.
  8. How could that guy "take" so many bullets and still resist arrest? It did seem as if he were going for a weapon or trying to drive off. If he continues to survive it will be interesting to see what was in his blood stream. I thought his female companion was justified and brave in her attempt to stop what was going on.
  9. Michael quoted President Trump: “The greatest Election Fraud in our history is about to happen.” Rush Limbaugh plays a lot of those montages of talking pit bulls barking the same tune and it really spotlights how evil and propagandistic they are. He maintains that they either go to the same sites or receive calls or emails telling them what they MUST say that day . . . or lose their place in the “in crowd” or is it the “in crowed?” And they won’t get their dog biscuits either. I like Levin but he gets a bit too, blisteringly mad, as do a few others on Fox or their own radio program
  10. From Sun 8/23/2020 11:16 PM What will the Trump administration do in his next term as President? They will create MORE jobs, CUT taxes, PROTECT American jobs The Coronavirus will be ERADICATED America will END its reliance on China and bring back 1 MILLION manufacturing jobs Insurance premiums will be LOWERED, Social Security and Medicare will be protected, prescription drug prices will be CUT, and preexisting conditions will be covered School Choice will be provided to EVERY Child in America We will DRAIN THE SWAMP by passing
  11. Disgusting propaganda? The top three Microsoft stories at 12:05? House vote to block postal, allocate mail funds changes from The New York Times. From The Hill. Pelosi on Trump’s very dangerous FDA attack. From The Washington Post: Trump looks to RNC for campaign reset. Like a pack of wolves, they have not conscious or shame. Peter
  12. Perhaps he is suggesting the FDA doesn't want to make the decision, 'political." Maybe they are political and want him to NOT receive the votes he would have gotten if there had been no covid. Or the Deep State is making it harder for the FDA to do its job so that inaction will affect the vote. Maybe the Deep State want to kill off Trump voters especially older people who may be more susceptible to the virus. I don't think he is saying the FDA is part of the Deep State. yadda yadda yadda.
  13. I tried a test donation just now and it seemed to be going well and it was loading my info as I clicked on each window box. For example it would give me the last four digits of my credit card and if I clicked on it then the whole number was uploaded. But suddenly as I was nearing the end of the process, it started back at the beginning with the amount screen except it now had a comma instead of a decimal point where the amount goes. Peter

    1. Peter

And the new screen has the country of Moldova as my place of residence. Weird. I just tried it again. Maybe I will try it without letting the system prefill my info. Peter

    2. Peter

I tiredly tried again and it flipped back to the screen with Moldova as my country but I plowed on and suddenly the amount with a comma switched over to an amount with a decimal point. I deliberated did not prefill the info boxes though hints were offered and my donation went through. Peter

    3. Michael Stuart Kelly

      Michael Stuart Kelly

      Thank you, Peter.

  14. I have tried to do a donation three times and it keeps telling me to try later. Is anyone else having a problem donating? Peter
  15. It does drag on. The character Robert Muldoon in ‘Jurassic Park”: Quiet, all of you! They're approaching the Tyrannosaur paddock. In the following story what if all the released male mosquitoes spontaneously switch from nectar to blood? ‘Jurassic Park experiment’: 750 million genetically engineered mosquitoes to be released in Florida by James Crump August 20, 2020, 9:28 AM ED. US authorities have approved a plan to release more than 750 million genetically modified mosquitoes across the Florida Keys, despite objections from local residents. British-based firm Oxitec are behind the projec
  16. Fox was saying there may be a limited supply of some vaccine in October for testing, and then more extensive shots in the arm by November and December. Hang in there, and stay safe. We are still watching Travelers and The Rain which is in its last season.
  17. Thanks again to Cathy Millhauser at the Sunday New York Times for the following: The Lord sprayer: Hose wielding serf. Women swear daily: Unladylike fact. Mrs. Oleary scow: Famed Chicago boat. Apostle screed: Long winded oration of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. Whistler smother: Stifling a happy bird. A room of one sown: Seedy place. Balaam sass: Back talk a prophet. Murphy slaw: Irish side dish. Shepherd spies: Peeking at rams and ewes.
  18. “This wicked man . . . . This monstrous product of former wrongs and shame has now resolved to break our famous island race by a process of indiscriminate slaughter and destruction.” Winston Churchill Never surrender to the totalitarians.
  19. From “The Universe in a Nutshell,” by Stephen Hawking: “Any sound scientific theory, whether of time or any other concept, should in my opinion be based on the most workable philosophy of science: the positivist approach put forward by Karl Popper and others. According to this way of thinking, a scientific theory is a mathematical model that describes and codifies the observations we make. A good theory will describe a large range of phenomena on the basis of a few simple postulates and will make definite predictions that can be tested. If the predictions agree with the observations, the theor
  20. I agree. I think I will avoid him in the future.
  21. Suddenly Unabashed has disappeared. Was he banned . . . or did the Feds arrest him for dissemination? Darn. And I wanted to tell him the short spelling and pronunciation of a particular ethnic group isn't jooz but juice. I remember doing or quoting a Seinfeld riff on that and Barbara Branden objected.
  22. U? Did you know Ayn Rand was of Jewish descent? I am not saying you are afraid of "being alone" but you have joined a social circle . . . to be read and discussed . . . or are you here to simply plant signs in the yard?
  23. Is *time* real or just a concept based on observation? While browsing I came across the following letters concerning Objectivism and *time.* Michael Hardy is, or was a professor at M.I.T., if I remember correctly. Very interesting. I don’t remember quoting these letters before though I have discussed the concept of time. How would you fit “time” into objectivism? Peter From: "David S. Boyer" To: objectivism Subject: OWL: Objectivism and Time Date: Sun, 08 Feb 2004 09:46:02 -0500. I've recently finished reading Piekoff's Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand. 24. I think a lot of "secret and "super beets" formulas will be put forward before it is announced that a true, proven vaccine is available.
