Chris,

I am sorry to hear about your stroke. Thankfully it wasn't too severe. Considering you use the term "small" stroke, was it by any chance labeled as this "a transient ischemic attack (TIA)" which has also been called mini strokes but are usually precursors to a full blown stroke? I am hoping the reference you made was in fact a TIA as there can be much in the way of preventative care and so forth to ward off a full blown stroke later on. They are sort of like warnings letting you know to get into the docs and start getting treatment before any major damage is done. I am very glad to hear that you seem to be doing pretty good considering and that there's no paralysis :) and hoping your speech is also okay. Most definitely take care of yourself.

Chris,

My thoughts and heart are with you. (This goes for Kat.)

My father just went through a stroke that left him completely debilitated and he is recovering just fine. My mother had a stroke just as severe (or worse) about 5 years ago and bounced back. The are both well enough to fight with each other, so I know both are fine. :)

There is hope.

Do what the doctors say and take you meds. Keep your blood pressure down and don't fret about anything, if that is your habit. Just let it be.

Get better. You are a valued friend.

Chris,

If you would like me to draw a funny and benevolent caricature of someone that you would give it to (as a gift) or one for yourself for that matter, let me know! No charge. I would be happy to. You have always been very respectful of me, and I never forget. :)

Victor,

Please do one of Chris. I would even love to see that posted on OL in his honor.

Michael

Michael,

That's not a problem. If he wants it, it's done. He can send a photo to me via a PM. Some info about him...such as his interests, passions, his job. That type of thing. That's all I need.

Hi Chris

Saddened to hear about your stroke - what a shock! I hope that you're getting all of the emotional, as well as medical, support you need.

All the best for a speedy and full recovery, and thanks for letting us know.

Lots of de-stressing, 'Elastigirl' (long-distance), hugs coming your way :)

Chris,

Please get me a photo of yourself and the info Victor asked for. Maybe Fran has something from the 2006 TAS Summer Seminar.

Let's do this.

Michael

I've checked my photos from last year's conference and, sadly, I don't have any of Chris :(

I didn't go to Disney World with them on the free day, otherwise I would have had a ton.

I would LOVE to see Chris' charicature!

James,

Thanks for sending this. But the photo I would need would have to be closer, clearer. I really need to see his face. Or else it will come out as an abstract work. ;]

edit: Oh, they all have lovely mugs! Hee-hee!

Thank you James.

Michael

Here it is somewhat altered (that's about the best I could do):

Michael,

Thanks, I think I can work from this. As soon as I'm done, I'll email it to Kat and you. Now, I was wondering what someone can tell me about Chris to put him in a 'situation' for the drawing. That's all I need, and from there---art is created.
