Donald Trump

... just irritated about what I see as the myopic attacks on Trump...

Adam,

I wouldn't worry about it. Trump is killing it. And from the looks of things, he is going to keep it up.

I came up with a phrase I use sometimes in comments elsewhere (like TheBlaze, Facebook, etc.). I especially like to use it when I think it will make the anti-Trump crowd sputter.

It works, too.

Are you ready?

Haters gonna hate,

And losers gonna lose.

When used at the right moment, like right after a news report of a bump in Trump's ratings, man does that piss some people off.

:)

NY Times, "all the news we mold and print" reported the following:

What planners did not anticipate was the portable mob scene that characterizes the candidacy of Donald J. Trump.

Arriving more than an hour late, Mr. Trump offered a speech of less than a minute on the state party’s stage. But that was beside the point, as star-struck supporters greeted him like a stadium rocker during a sprawling tailgate party before kickoff.

“Donald, you rock!” a young man shouted as Mr. Trump, encircled by a security team, walked through a parking lot.

Another man fought his way into the mob and said, “Donald, I’m wearing your hat!”

I think they call this marketing...

We admired the packaging of O'bama...

Notice the subliminal hint in the red above that implies that this "crowd" is portable, a.k.a., bought...

Also, what kind of planners does the Republican Party have to not know that the man draws lots of folks.

The last paragraph let's the semantic slices continue...

His visit to the Ames tailgate scene, though short, was memorable. After his remarks, he made his way through the parking lot, then climbed into a waiting black Suburban. He rolled down his window, and as he shot out his arm to wave goodbye, a diamond cuff link sparkled in the sun.

Never miss a shot to buttress your effete reader's pathetic psychosis about the rich!!

These numbers are astounding...even though they are "just polls," the "feeling" is that both of these front runners, Trump and Sanders have our ole pal "Mo"...

I mean at this point since its Trump Sanders , and then Trump to win- I am guessing . I have not seen the polls on that , nor do i care to .

How many folks here think we should just ignore the next 14 months and give him the POTUS today ?

I mean , since whatever changes ever happen in the last 14 months of an idle duck President anyway .

Just curious how many folks here are going to even comment after Trump pulls out and becomes the rainmaker for this election . The deal maker . The Trump we all know just doing his thing . In a sense , having the POTUS in his pocket when needed .

Methinks this thread will turn to how amazing Trumps decision was to pull out and very few will acknowledge those who called it early on .

The stupidity of the La Raza marxists putting out demonstrations with Trump pinatas is classically tone deaf agenda driven reactions to Trump's clarity on the illegal invasion is that it drives folks right into supporting him.

Banks’ statistics overall are correct. “Immigrant households use welfare at significantly higher rates than native households,” with more than half of U.S. immigrants on welfare, a new Census data study reveals. The disproportionate reliance on welfare continues amongst the second and third generations (i.e. the American-born children) of immigrants: 76.4 percent of native Hispanics report that they use welfare as opposed to 40.8 percent of native whites.

Banks pressed the point. “Who’s going to pay for [mass immigration]?” Banks tweeted. “I’d much rather have my tax dollars go to making schools better then spreading schools thin.”

Bingo - game set match - where is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue again?

Straight ahead of The Donald...stay the course and Keep It Simple Stupid.

Donald Trumps business record.

"

Had the celebrity businessman and Republican presidential candidate invested his eventual share of his father’s real-estate company into a mutual fund of S&P 500 stocks in 1974, it would be worth nearly $3 billion today, thanks to the market’s performance over the past four decades. If he’d invested the $200 million that Forbes magazine determined he was worth in 1982 into that index fund, it would have grown to more than $8 billion today.

Even the smaller figure exceeds the lower range of his possible net worth as reported to the Federal Election Commission, while the larger number exceeds by billions recent estimates of Trump’s worth by financial publications. And it would have come without the high-drama, roller-coaster career that has included four corporate bankruptcies.

This begs a separate set of questions. How well would Trump “invest” taxpayers’ money?

I don't agree with everything Bill Whittle says, especially about the part at the end that we could do much better, but I'll take his endorsement of Donald Trump.

An endorsement is an endorsement is an endorsement.

At least Whittle sees Trump with his own eyes and says what he sees instead of repeating media narratives.

Wait until he sees a lot more...

Hmm Isn't Arnold the last Republican(fusion) governor of the State?

So is there a good chance that The Donald will do very well in the California Republican Party primary right?

And, surprise, The Donald is in the lead there too.

The poll questioned 1,500 registered voters by telephone from Aug. 29 through Sept. 8. It was conducted by the Democratic firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research and the Republican firm American Viewpoint on behalf of the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and the Los Angeles Times.

California Republicans have opted for the safe and predictable candidate in most presidential elections, so their embrace of Trump — even if it proves temporary — is notable.

The Donald killed it in Dallas. See here from The Daily Mail:

Trump hammers 'this sanctuary cities crap' and jokes about replacing Obamacare with 'Donaldcare' as women CRY with joy while 20,000 enthralled Texans roar for 90 minute speech

  • Republican front-runner gave the single longest speech of any major party candidate in the 2016 presidential election
  • American Airlines center was packed to the rafters with Texans who came to hear The Donald speak
  • 'We've got a president who doesn't know what the hell he's doing!' Trump blasted, mocking global warming and focusing on 'nuclear global warming'
  • Took minor swipes at Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson before Wednesday's debate but boos rang from the arena at the mention of Jeb Bush's name
  • Met before his speech with Texans whose family members were killed by illegal immigrants – and returned to 'anchor baby' rhetoric
  • 'I just never thought I'd see the day when someone in politics would say the things he's saying,' said a woman who wept for joy while Trump spoke

Dayaamm! Next thing you know, women will be fainting like with Obama's campaign...

(Read the article if you want more. )

Also, Occupy Wall Street anyone?

But this time, how about an assault on a crony corporatist Wall Street that is not paid for by Wall Street to make phony controversy while, backstage, crony corporatist Wall Street controls the government? The Bushes, Obama, Clinton, they're all the same...

(singing):

Give Trump's regards to Wall Street,

Remember him, but then prepare.
Tell all the gang at the New York Stock Exchange
That Trump will soon be there...

:)

From Politico:

Wall Street's latest panic: Trump could win

And I'm loving it.

Drip... drip... drip...

From huff post, some snips. Remember. These are myths according to the author.

Campaign 2016 Just Getting Started: 5 Myths Already, by Matthew Dowd.
1. Super Pacs make a huge difference this year and will keep candidates viable for much longer. . . . . Pay attention to momentum, message, and actual campaign resources, not large amounts in a Super Pac . . . .
2. Media exposure is everything and that is why Donald Trump is leading and everyone else hasn't gone anywhere. Another myth where evidence presents a contrary story. Yes, Trump has an advantage because of his ability to get media attention, but we forget he led the field in polling in 2011 before he decided not to run . . . .
3. Favorability of a candidate is the most important determinant of success. Yes, being liked by voters is important, however many other attributes lead voters to vote for or against someone . . . .
4. Everyone who has attacked Trump has suffered from it and fallen . . . . This myth serves Trump well because it tries to scare people from attacking him, but the truth is much different. Carly Fiorina, who was the main beneficiary from the last debates, has taken on Trump directly and forcefully and risen in the polls. I am not saying she rose because of her attacks on Trump, but she definitely didn't fall. . . .
5. Trump's position in the GOP race is just like Rudy Giuliani's in 2007, or Herman Cain, Perry, or Newt Gingrich in 2011. In the past, candidates have held dominant positions in national polls temporarily, and then failed to secure the GOP nomination. This may still happen to Trump, but his standing is much different than all those other temporary leading candidates. He has been ahead both nationally and in every key state for well over two months now. All those other candidates above who ended up losing never had this depth and breadth of support. In fact, history shows that when a GOP candidate has dominated the polling like Trump has, they win the GOP nod. There is a lot of time left in this race and Trump and his ego could eventually drag himself down, but his standing is very different than past "flashes in the pan."

. . . . All great change starts with a clear view of the truth of today, so that we can begin to build a better tomorrow . . . .
end quote

It may have been an NBC poll that said 37 percent of Republicans have decided who they are going to vote for. Yet it is so early I think many of them could change their vote. Fox carried Trump’s Dallas rally, and I watched some of it. After about a half an hour I changed the channel, and later went back to see Kennedy on Fox Business, and Trump was still talking. I saw a few yawns from the audience but he periodically said something funny or insightful and everyone was alert again.

David Limbaugh wrote below, “. . . certain things about Trump make me nervous . . . People are dehydrated, and he's their Gatorade.” And I agree, but my nervousness has abated at bit. I still will do a full analysis of Trump’s possible future Presidency but I am SO FED UP that I refuse to wait for a Rand Paul or a Ted Cruz type to win. I still hope Trump is considering Paul, Cruz, Fiorina, or even Carson as VP’s. Once again, I would maintain no one in their senses would pick Trump for VP unless it was because of a demographic that showed 30 percent of the Republicans and the general electorate wanted to vote for Trump but he was not nominated but they will still vote for him to be veep carrying the other Republican to victory.

Some snips from The Establishment Birthed Trump David Limbaugh | Sep 15, 2015.

Much of the establishment's criticism of Donald Trump comes from its failure to comprehend the reasons for his soaring popularity. Establishment types seem untroubled by the problems facing America, so they can't understand the urgency that fathered Trump's rise. Minor adjustments to the Hindenburg's dining room menu just aren't going to get it. Their overwrought analysis, their hand-wringing and their contemptuousness for Trump betray a disdain not only for Trump but for Americans who recognize the gravity of America's predicament -- and who, in desperation, have turned to Trump for bold action . . . . People are mortified by the nation's fiscal instability, its unbridled national debt, its spiraling entitlements and Washington's refusal to address them. They are sick of the fraudulent spending "cuts." They have had their fill of the lies, especially about Obamacare, whose costs dwarf Obama's promised projections and are getting worse. They've reached their limit with this administration's rewarding unemployment and punishing work, its honoring socialism and demonizing capitalism.

People are sick of politically correct bullies. They are exhausted by lectures about not paying their fair share when half the income earners don't pay income taxes. They are fed up with lies about decreasing unemployment rates when tens of millions have dropped out of the workforce. . . . Along comes Trump, who gives voice to these legitimate grievances instead of calling people racist, selfish or hysterical. He emphasizes the urgency of these problems, and he denounces the status quo, the establishment, Washington inertia and political correctness without an ounce of apology. People are dehydrated, and he's their Gatorade.

Whether Trump could or would deliver on his promises is one thing, but the establishment's arrogant failure to acknowledge, let alone decry the horror of, the status quo is his lifeblood. If Trump is a monster, the establishment is Dr. Frankenstein, so please spare us the lectures.

I happen to prefer other candidates, and certain things about Trump make me nervous; but I appreciate that he is shaking things up, and I refuse to belittle Trump's supporters for believing he would be more effective than many of his establishment rivals. Our forefathers' precious gift of liberty to us is not self-sustaining, and if we don't quit kicking it to the curb, it will leave us, never to return.

Peter, this type of analysis is fine for the other candidates but I don't see anything in your postings that addresses what Trump's about and why what is working for him is working for him or even what that thing or things is or are. Consequently you and most others--including me, myself and I--are getting caught repeatedly with our pants down. Even our MSK can hardly stay ahead or on top of it all. Only his enthusiasm is keeping him from being trampled. Yeah, Trump may be a momentum play soon to be played out. I wouldn't take that bet. At least I don't share your purblindedness on this. You are hardly alone. The left media have tied themselves in knots. The right media aren't doing much better. Everybody will all fall down.

I'd like to see Trump publicly choose his VP at the boardroom table à la Celebrity Apprentice: "Now, Ted, tell me why I shouldn't fire you and go with Ben instead. I mean, you have to admit that he's a very accomplished man. He's wonderful. Wonderful. Why would I keep you over him? Doesn't it seem that he wants it more than you do? Look at his polling. What do you have to say about that?"

Certainly an option J, however, I have been throwing out names in another thread and I fell into the same trap that everyone falls into.

I definitely think that he just may go outside any choice that either holds office, or, ran for office.

Carson would qualify, or, someone not in elected politics.

If, Carson would accept, I think that ticket is unbeatable by Evita. More than likely would beat Biden also. r

Fiorina is on the bubble, also unbeatable if she would accept.

Now pulling in another business person would make this work seamlessly.
