I started to write a response to your deletion of my post and decided the act in itself was enough for anyone who wishes to see the truth.

You might be suffering from a misconception about what OL is. We are not Sunday School. We are a discussion board.

I deleted your post because it was insulting to an OL member and tried to humiliate him.

Two OL policy issues were involved with this affair and they have been addressed with both words and actions. The first was plagiary and the second was OL members insulting each other to start flame wars.

You may not like our policies, but they are clear and that is what they are. You have the entire Internet available to air grievances about our policies or insult other members. Not here.

If you have any further doubts about this issue, I am available off line. You have my e-mail.

Edit - LW - I just saw your post on SOLOP, where in addition to complaining (which is your right), you add "Here is my post as best I can remember it from OL." You forgot to mention that I sent you the text to your post to your e-mail address the moment I deleted it - to help you remember, of course.

I had no idea you sent my post to my E-Mail address, as I don't check it every two minutes.

In regards your policy of not allowing one poster to insult another I would remind you of the squabble Gary and Nick became involved in on the humor thread some time back. I do not remember your removing either of their comments to each other although I do know you removed Nick's thread on 'The bigot at the bar'.

However, as I am aware this is your and Kat's board, and from this point forward as far as I am concerned you are welcome to it as your position is quite clear.

That particular flame war (and it involved others) was one I let grow by mistake. I should have intervened way before I did. Once I did it stopped, but it never should have reached that point.

Call it learning pains.

The issues here are issues, not character smears.

You were right to doubt Pross's sincerity and I was wrong.

I get rankled when a person is trying to sincerely apologize and another person tries to humiliate him. That is what I saw so I reacted accordingly.

Boy, did I ever see it wrong! You saw something I didn't.

I am now reconstructing the deleted thread (the Kelley mind-body dichotomy thread, and I even have the time-stamps). I will post it in the next few days. My deletion of your post has been weighing on my conscious since I realized that you were absolutely sincere and not at all interested in humiliating Pross.

You have my unconditional apology. That is one mistake that will never happen again.

EDIT: I was able to recover your text from the email I sent you and I have posted it on the thread where it was deleted.
