I'd like to open a field of discussion for the QAnon phenomena.  Here is where I will post in already existing material presented at OL by members.  I'll take direction from comments and from poll answers.

  • What is Q / QAnon?
  • Why should anyone on OL pay attention?
  • Is skepticism justified?
  • What are the main questions readers have in mind to guide discussion?

No special rules or guidelines for this thread; the OL guidelines are good enough and will apply here. .  Please keep personal abuse to a minimum. Creative insults are kosher, but if they aren't on topic, why post them?

Our forum leader opened discussion on the phenomena back in January of this year.  My key-word search-term was "QAnon,"  not "Q," so the search results will not necessarily return all incidence of discussion touching on the phenomena.

I will post a thing about him later, probably in a new thread or on the Conspiracy Theory thread. He's been spot on accurate predicting a lot of recent happenings right before they happen. More recently he's been doing some twittering and he seems to like hamming it up a bit, so here are a few teasers:

Jordan Sather says he was interviewed "On the Matter of Q" by a reporter/researcher at the Washington Post.  Could be an interesting article, if and when it comes out.  I expect Sather will make the entire text/recording of the half-hour interview available on his Youtube video channel.

Into the weeds!

Some more diligent Q-Watchers have concluded that QAnon has "got their groove back." Whatever that means. I am more a 'stitch in time saves nine' kind of guy.

Funny/sad/revealing/bizarre LARP (live action role-play) note from one of the primary Q-grifters on Twitter:

-- I didn't notice the mainstream media has been "brought down," but maybe FakeFace knows something we don't. It's pretty clear QAnon knows nothing.  Here's ten of the most recent.

The entity or entity behind Q has had a burst of energy.  The drops/droppings are now up to number 2786. I'll add in the updates over the next couple of days, ten at a time.

"Do you believe?"

The President of the United States, the Commander in Chief, AGREED that an illegal coup was attempted against him.
Stop and understand the GRAVITY of acknowledgement.
Do you believe nothing will happen?
Do you believe no one will be prosecuted?
POTUS making statements for no reason?
How do you introduce the TRUTH to those still asleep?
DECLAS coming?
The message must be direct (bypass the non reporting of the TRUTH (facts) by FAKE ‘spin the narrative’ NEWS).

"Think here."  Why did Facebook fake-delete Russian-funded "new media" pages?

Chatter uptick re: how to effectively prevent cross-talk re: anti-narrative across all social media/online platforms.
Ability to prevent cross-talk narrows comms only to FAKE NEWS which provides for more control over what is released to inform the public.
A series of scenarios is currently being conducted ['game the sys'] to test response, risk, and calc results.
'Censorship' [added] layers of inserted code 'through keyword targeting' in bio, history, and comments + indiv platform mods has failed to curtail the problem.
'China-Russia-Iran' 'fake' take-down hacks of select platforms (for maintenance) is one scenario being game-played.
[Zero-Day]
Countermeasures in place.
[Example]
Think Emergency Alert System.
Think WH controlled *new* RT 'news' website
Think WH controlled *new* video stream platform
Think Here.
Should this occur, immediate steps will be taken to classify each as 'Public Utility' (essential public services) to gain appropriate gov regulation (control).
Why do we make things public?

One of the snarkiest of the QAnon observers is Mike Rothschild, who has penned a piece at the Daily Dot:

QAnon’s repetitive posts are alienating even his most ardent supporters.

Quote

[...]

One set of posts was a set of out-of-context pictures of a city in China, leaving followers busy to decode why they were posted.

Q has done this many other times, even using China on a few occasions. There were references to “suicide weekend” of deep state criminals taking their own lives—an event Q has predicted three other times. There were long lists of links of pieces written about QAnon and proofs that the “coincidences” between Q posts and Trump tweets are “mathematically impossible”— all of which Q does to justify his existence.

He even repeated memes he’d already used before, such as one about voter ID posted in drop 2463, then repeated in 2689. The posts are also getting sloppy, as Q corrects typos and errors that didn’t actually exist, and attributes it to being “on the move.”

The last few posts do hint at something changing, finally, promising updates to the long-ago posted “placeholders” for sealed indictments, ”activation” of sleeper agents, and hinting at James Comey and others facing “traitors justice.”

It’s likely nothing will happen other than Q vanishing again, only to return when his movement needs a shot in the arm.

There have been three dozen new Q droppings since my last update. Will get around to posting them in the next couple of days. You can see them all at QAnon.pub.

Every day is Q-Day in Kook World.  Whether you are simply suggestible, fantasy-prone, comforted by delusions or false beliefs -- there is room for everyone -- as long as you junk Objectivist/Objectivish epistemology, reason, logic and dissent.

Some light cynicism from Travis View, one of the three hosts of the fabulous QAnonAnonymous podcast.
