Obama, descended from The Arab

An exchange in Private Messenger between Brant and William on the subject of Birth.

I can answer your other Cruz-related notes in the Trump thread, but this stuck out for me.

Obama's likely real father was a Cuban, not the guy put on the birth certificate.

Is this your psychic intuition, Brant? Your opinion is on record that Obama is 'hidden' Arab, but your epistemology is cloaked or absent. Nobody knows why you hold this odd thought, and nobody knows why you do not grapple with the details of contrary information. I expect better from someone who professes some attachment to Reason.

I gave you the opportunity to discuss Obama the Arab, but you declined. It strikes me as one of those fixed ideas that cannot be dislodged by rational means.

My perspective is that my researches have found zero evidence that Obama is Arab. Why someone insists upon a reality that no one else can see, why someone insists on a conspiracy to deceive ... I don't understand. It is zany, bizarre, mysterious.

You might as well insist that Obama is an Alien hybrid. It isn't so, but you believe it. There is a book about this kind of thing.

If Obama got by the born citizen thing the SCOTUS will probably give Cruz a pass.

The Birther witlessness was a sight to behold. I remember one of the weird dementos who tried and tried and tried to get a court to hear a motions, and I remember Orly Taitz.

No 'birther' suit got anywhere near the Supremes. All such attempts were quashed. The likelihood of any court ruling is pretty much zip. There is no case to bring ... as no case over your history has gone anywhere.

These are minor things and have nothing to do with Trump except they add credence to his sleaze and his earlier birtherism. Of any objection to Obama, that he is of Arab descent is the weakest and most easily debunked. It is a crank argument at best.

All I am left to think is that you think either Obama's mum lied about the birth father in Hawaii or that Obama senior had blood of the Arab that no one can otherwise demonstrate. Or both. It just does not compute.

I did not note in my challenge to you earlier that Arab as a slur is meaningless. To have Arab descent tells one nothing about a person, especially if he does not speak Arabic, and does not observe any Arab culture. Replace Arab Bloodline with Joo Bloodline and see what that sounds like, huh?

Forgive the tone, which is meant to be frank, not insulting. The rest of your remarks on the Trump thread are more anodyne, and the wonk in me is happy to answer the final question, even though rhetorical.

Brant's response. I will answer this in comments.

How did he get an Arabic name?

If his father was a Cuban he has no likely Arab blood. That's quite binary.

I'll sleeze over "I won" Obama as much as I want. "I won" means "you lost" so get lost. That and he is the least of it.

The Cuban possibility comes from another site and cannot be verified outside DNA testing. I'm not going back and find the precise story. The guy on the birth certificate decamped to Seattle when he wanted to go and apparently never looked back. Hey, buddy, that's your kid! Right? The story is it was to avoid the stigma of an out of wedlock birth for the child and mother. That makes 55 years-ago sense.

The failure of the mainstream media to serious investigate Obama back in 2007-2008 and since means I don't give a good God damn about him and stories about him much less stories that undercut him. The damage his presidency has done and will do over the next 12 months is a given. Go ask somebody else about documentation and references. You would have been entitled to them from me back in 2008, not now; not any more.

I don't mind personal communications from you, but if you want any replies to this kind of material in the future, put it up for everybody to see. You are welcome, if you know how--I don't--to put this up on site if you want--ALL OF IT!--for public viewing.

William, thanks for posting this.

BHO, Cuban ?? I can't see how he looks Cuban at all (whatever that might be).

Instead, he looks to me like the spitting dark-skinned image of his Caucasian mother's dad. Barry now and Stanley Dunham back when Barry's mom was a little girl could be brothers - with one having spent less time in the tanning booth. :-)

Scroll down toward the bottom of this article and check out the photo of Ann with Barry's grampa and gramma. I guess Stanley Dunham could have been Cuban, at that. ;-)

How did he get an Arabic name?

If you mean, how did President Obama get the middle name Hussein, somebody put it on his Hawaiian birth certificate. I suspect his mother.

If you mean, how did Baraka/Barack Hussein Obama Senior get the middle name Hussein, that was because his father Onyango Obama changed his name to Husayn/Hussein Obama when he converted to Islam from Catholocism.

When the President's father was born, it was into a Muslim family -- although he attended a Christian missionary school. The patriarch named his new son Barack Hussein Obama.

Now, Brant, Hussein is a common name among Muslims. It refers to the grandson of the prophet. When the grandfather gave the name to his son, it conveyed only a name, not a religion. It did not infuse Barack Hussein Obama with belief. Indeed, of course, the sun took to religion in his Christian school at age 6.

Consider that if I were named William Jesus Scherk, would that give me 'Christian blood' or something?

Now, William, go use your considerable brainpower on a more important subject. Nothing seems to bore you within the Liberal Arts matrix and I don't know why. You don't seem to have much of an hierarchy of intellectual values.

You are telling me to stop discussing the Birther opinions you hold, and to stop from answering your questions?

I will keep answering your questions from above. I think they were asked in good faith. It isn't a major, pressing concern for me, or I would have pursued this on list.

Anyhow, perhaps you will expand on your perceptive "You don't seem to have much of an hierarchy of intellectual values." And maybe you will put into question form "Nothing seems to bore you within the Liberal Arts matrix and I don't know why."

Well, I have no idea what that might mean, so I will set it aside. The most I can get out of it is that Nothing Seems To Bore Me (of X class) and you don't know why.

Here's the pith of what I wrote, Brant, in answer to the first of your questions -- Naming a child does not confer either 'Arab' ethnicity or 'Muslim' religious beliefs. The 'Hussein' was kind of like what the Russians call a Patronymic -- it carries forward a name. Vladimir Putin's middle name, then, is Vladimirovich, which only means that his father's name was Vladimir.

So -- you asked in your response how President Obama got an "Arab" name. I answered. And now you veer off topic to my lack of intellectual coherence, and utter something about the Liberal Arts matrix.

I will stick to the topic and your questions. You can come and go as you please. I am blocked from commenting on your blog.
