This is a show on The Learning Channel.

It is about the Gosselins who first had twin girls and hoping for one more got six. That's right SIX!

In part because of modern medicine multiple births are increasing. There are at least three sets of sextuplets and at least one of septuplets in the United States. These large multiple birth are almost alway premature so modern medicine has gotten these children thru that very difficult period

[

The first and most famous set of multiples was the Dionne quintuplets. They were born in the early 30ths. The government of Ontario became their guardians. They became tourist attraction in their town with something called Quint-land where people could go pay a fee and they the quints playing behind one way glass. It really was awful.

Back to Jon and Kate. It is clear from watching the show that the Gosslins have lots of help. Even with the help the children are a real bundle.

The Learning Channel takes a hands off approach on the filming. There are have been scenes of children screaming their heads off.

The statement I have been told about multiple births is that each additional child works like a geometric progression as opposed to an arm ethic one. More like one, four, 12, 20, then one, two, three, four.
