Dragnet 1954

I saw this movie again last night. I also saw it when it came out.

The first thing that hit me was this was the way the LA police department wanted to be seen. They probably approved. One of the items the LAPD was not pleased about in 1954 was the Bill of Rights. One of the characters says that only a guilty person would need a lawyer. There was no right to remain silent.

In Los Angles in 1954 there were no visible people of color.

Sometimes watching something from the past you realize that progress has been made.
