She was a great character actress working in the 30ths and 40ths. She usually played a spinster or a widow. She was not a beauty. I just watched her as Miss Pross in "A Tale of Two Cities" which is one of her great roles.
When you watch old movies you see these wonderful character actors who always seem to provide great moments in these old movies. They are all missed.
