Some comments on election 2007

This 2007 is an election year. It's not for US President. Three governors are up(Louisiana, Kentucky and Mississippi), state legislatures in five states(the above three, Virginia, and New Jersey and a lot of local elections.

Louisiana has already elected Jindal® governor. Kentucky is expected to elect a Democrat and Hayley Barbour® is expected to reelected in Mississippi. The lower house in Virginia which has been held by the GOP could go to the Democrats.

However I want talk about some endorsement I noticed while I was Fairfax County. On signs for school board some of the signs said teacher endorsed. In the race for district attorney signs said police endorsed.

I found this distrubing. Why? Teacher endorsed means teacher union endorsed. Teacher unions are not friends of education. They want teachers to have job security. Teachers unions want no accountable for their members. Police unions which what the words police endorsed mean have similar interests. It is especially true because district attorneys are the individuals who police must answer to when the police do things wrong. The current holder of the district attorney's job in Fairfax County has never charged a police officer with a crime involved an abuse of the police officer's power. In Fairfax County at least one police officer was given a free pass on the death of a person. This person was charged with being a bookie. I suspect this is true in other areas.

It was the Virginia Senate that went to the Dems not the House. The police endorsed candidate for district attorney won in Fairfax County.
