Here's a good start from The Hill:

FBI informant in Obama-era Russian nuclear bribery cleared to testify before Congress

From the article:

Quote

The Justice Department on Wednesday night released a former FBI informant from a confidentiality agreement, allowing him to testify before Congress about what he witnessed undercover about the Russian nuclear industry’s efforts to win favorable decisions during the Obama administration.

Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores confirmed to The Hill a deal had been reached clearing the informant to talk to Congress for the first time, nearly eight years after he first went undercover for the FBI.

“As of tonight, the Department of Justice has authorized the informant to disclose to the Chairmen and Ranking Members of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, as well as one member of each of their staffs, any information or documents he has concerning alleged corruption or bribery involving transactions in the uranium market, including but not limited to anything related to Vadim Mikerin, Rosatom, Tenex, Uranium One, or the Clinton Foundation,” she said.

Here's the odd thing, though.

The headlines on Drudge suddenly disappeared.

I've been hopping around the Internet and news of the dossier, this Uranium One stuff, etc., seem to be withering away.

It's almost like some backstage intimidation is going on.

Now, let me put on my tin foil hat. What could possibly intimidate elitists into using their heavy guns to suddenly shut news down in the manner it is happening, I wonder, I wonder?

I wonder if it has anything to do with sex... maybe children...

:)

I suspect, though, that the fat lady has sung and the curtain is coming down on a lot of people, starting with the whole Clinton machine. The country is really, really pissed right now and this time, I predict elitist intimation will not stand. More interestingly, let's see who the Clinton folks take with them.

In fact, when you dig into the Uranium One deal, it's starting to look like Obama...

I think if the Podesta Bros get right good and pilloried first, it may be a sign the Clintons still have a little juice left in the tank. But it doesn't feel like it can last.

If they go first , it already ran dry.

Here is one of the best simple explanations of the Uranium One issue I have come across. It's by CNN of all places--you're favorite spot for fake news. The explanation is from about 0:31 to 3:00. It actually ends a few seconds earlier, but I extended it to include the comment from Michael Shields (former RNC Chief of Staff) praising the explanation. He's right. As for the rest of the video, it's typical CNN panel bullshit. Watch it if you want, but you can skip it and not miss anything.

With that understanding, the following video is Bernie bro, Jimmy Dore, laying out the whole Hillary Clinton mess.

Even though he hates President Trump, I like watching him because he explains things slowly in common language and is one of the most accurate political explainers of thorny issues I have seen so far (unless he is on such a pro-progressive theme he loses perspective, which happens at times). He's certainly better than Rachel Maddow at explaining because she is more mythologist than news reporter and she has an active fiction (conspiracy theory) imagination that she constantly displays.

These two videos give you an accurate crash course overview of both the Uranium One issue and the pee-on-bed Trump dossier that Clinton and the DNC funded and used (and the Deep State used) after the primaries.

Here's a cute story in the New York Post by Paul Sperry:

How Team Hillary played the press for fools on Russia

From the article:

Quote

The irony is, it may have in fact been Hillary who came closer to colluding with the Russians in smearing Trump as a Russian traitor than anything Trump did in trying to beat Hillary. The information in the dossier she bought for millions came from Russian intelligence sources, and her lawyers brokered the deal with a Kremlin-tied lobbyist. When it failed to stop Trump, the Russia paymaster turned into the Russia spinmeister.

Now we really know “What Happened.”

This part caught the attention of somebody.

This Breitbart article by Ian Mason explains the Republican involvement in hiring Fusion GPS (that is, neocon Paul Singer and his Washington Free Beacon) for opposition research against then-candidate Trump.

Anti-Trump Dossier Original Funder Paul Singer an Open Borders Establishment Republican Billionaire

From the article:

Quote

GOP establishment billionaire Paul Singer, the top funder of the Washington Free Beacon, has a long history of support for the GOP establishment over economic nationalists and conservatives–including backing open borders, pro-amnesty efforts.

Late Friday, Singer’s Washington Free Beacon came clean as the original funding source for Fusion GPS’s research against now-President Donald Trump. Fusion GPS research was later funded by Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign, and created the now-infamous fake news dossier against Trump, but the efforts originally lay with Singer.

Multiple outlets reported Friday night that lawyers for the Free Beacon had just informed the House Intelligence Committee that their outfit was the first to engage Fusion GPS to conduct opposition research against then-candidate Trump. The neoconservative media outlet emphasized in a statement that this engagement involved all of the GOP candidates for president – not merely Trump – and never involved Russia or dubious former intelligence asset Christopher Steele, before the project was dropped and taken over by Hillary for American and the Democratic National Committee in the Spring of 2016 through potentially illegal payments made through law firm Perkins Coie.

So it looks like both Hillary Clinton and the Neocons are caught with their pants down.

And, man, just imagining that ugly visual can give a bloke the creeps. :)

For the record, the name "Fusion GPS" sounds techy and trendy and cool and stuff, but it is an opposition research company. And that is nothing but a euphemism for a company of private detectives (and wannabes) mixed with propaganda writers.

My version of that joke is this:  Mickey files for divorce from Minnie.  The judge tells Mickey he cannot  grant a divorce on the grounds that Minnie is mentally unstable.  Mickey says to the judge:  "I never said that!  What I said was that Minnie was fucking Goofy".  I told that joke out loud when I visited Disney World in Florida.  I was nearly ejected from the park.

I had an interesting thought this morning.

Do you know who Robert Mueller reminds me of? I don't mean his personal demeanor. I mean his situation and the outward signs of how he has been conducting his investigation so far (starting with stacking his team with strong political partisans).

His position reminds me of Mike Nifong. If you don't remember who Nifong is, think back to the Duke lacrosse team rape scandal in 2006-2007. This was when black stripper and escort, Crystal Gail Mangum, falsely accused three Duke lacrosse players of rape. The media went on a metaphorical lynching of the three students for racism back then and Nifong, the Durham County District Attorney, abused his position to make sure the lynching stuck.

After the case fell apart and Nifong was busted, he was disbarred, served one day in jail, was sued from here to Kingdom come and had to declare bankruptcy. What's worse, his former cases have been called into question and some are still being looked at. His immoral and illegal conduct caused a huge mess that has not finished being cleaned up.

That, however, did not stop the left from falsifying official matters in their "rape culture on campus" agenda. They seem to have backed off for a few years (or at least became very careful), but they did not stop. See the disgraced 2014 Rolling Stone's bogus investigative article, A Rape on Campus, which caused all kinds of headaches for Rolling Stone after it was debunked. Is that the only case? I doubt it. God knows what they have gotten away with so far. The point is the left LIKES to falsify official facts in promoting a narrative. One debunking does not stop them from perpetrating another malicious hoax. (See the black riots during President Obama's term of office, for example. Does anyone remember all those media people and leftie politicians going "Hands up, don't shoot!" over and over? I do...)

Right now Robert Mueller is on a prosecutorial mission of detecting Russian collusion to elect President Trump that not only has been debunked, strong evidence has finally come out that there was Russian collusion with Hillary Clinton's team. Not only that, there is strong evidence of official Clinton (and even Obama) misconduct in the Uranium One deal where Russia obtained 20% of the US's uranium reserves.

Just like the Duke lacrosse rape scandal, while it was unwinding, Nifong was a media darling and nobody could tell the mainstream media folks anything. They were on a mission for "the truth," by God, and they were going to get it. They were going to nail those student's lily-white privileged asses to the wall for everyone to see. And after the debunking? A few articles--not even showing the egg on their faces--and off they went on another crusade. But they allowed Nifong to hang well hung and chewed up--not for immoral behavior, but for incompetence. He did not fabricate the false reality they wanted and his efforts were exposed. He embarrassed them. That is the unforgivable sin and they mercilessly crucified him for it.

For over a year, nobody has been able to tell the mainstream media anything regarding the Russian collusion. The mainstream media folks have been sure President Trump was guilty and, by God, they were going to nail his lily-white privileged ass to the wall for everyone to see. And this time, they got a professional to do it: Robert Mueller.

Now it's coming out that Mueller's hand has been in the cookie jar with Clinton... Tsk tsk tsk...

Let's see how this plays out. I am almost sure Mueller did not want to present the indictments yet because of the trivial nature of what he has found against Trump so far. (People are joking that he will indict Manafort's maid for tearing the labels off the cushions. :) ) But he has to try to stop the bleeding. It's getting really ugly. People like the Wall Street Journal's editorial board are calling for his resignation or dismissal (see here).

If this Russian collusion thing blows back on Hillary Clinton for real (as it seems it will), and worse, if Clinton is sacrificed by the Deep Ruling Class Democrats (as it looks like is starting to happen), I would not want to be Robert Mueller.

Nifong's fate will be a walk through an amusement park by comparison to what they will do, and allow to be done, to him. I wouldn't be surprised if they "Weinsteined" him, if 100 women come out of the woodwork to claim he raped them and the story suddenly becomes a media sensation.

Time will tell, but the worm is turning...

It looks like former President Obama is in this thing for real.

Obama’s Campaign Paid $972,000 To Law Firm That Secretly Paid Fusion GPS In 2016
Since April of 2016, Obama's campaign organization has paid nearly a million dollars to the law firm that funneled money to Fusion GPS to compile a dossier of unverified allegations against Donald Trump.

From the article:

Quote

Former president Barack Obama’s official campaign organization has directed nearly a million dollars to the same law firm that funneled money to Fusion GPS, the firm behind the infamous Steele dossier. Since April of 2016, Obama For America (OFA) has paid over $972,000 to Perkins Coie, records filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) show.

The Washington Post reported last week that Perkins Coie, an international law firm, was directed by both the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton’s campaign to retain Fusion GPS in April of 2016 to dig up dirt on then-candidate Donald Trump. Fusion GPS then hired Christopher Steele, a former British spy, to compile a dossier of allegations that Trump and his campaign actively colluded with the Russian government during the 2016 election.

In other words, Obama's campaign people helped pay for the pee-pee document (which is now being circulated in the news has having cost a cool $12 million all total.)

If you read the article above, you will also see how interconnected Fusion GPS was to President Obama's administration while he was in power. The spouse of one of the key players of Fusion GPS was part of Obama's staff at the White House.

And the worm keeps turning...

Since the Manafort indictment is diversion from the Hillary Clinton mess (it gives the toady media an issue to fill up time so they can try to ignore things like Uranium One, etc.), I suppose we have to talk about it.

Manafort was indicted by Mueller on charges of money laundering and so on. For those interested in the details, The Daily Mail is generally accurate and keeps up a pretty good series of updates (see here).

Now here's the kicker.

If the Hillary Clinton mess keeps going and it comes out the fake pee-pee document was used to obtain the FISA warrants the FBI used to spy on Manafort, that means the FISA warrants were illegal. And that means any case against Manafort will be thrown out of court for evidence illegally obtained.

There are some legal procedures that need to unfold for this to bloom, but Manafort is upbeat according to accounts. He doesn't seem to be worried at all.

This may change, but so far, it's all a media storm as if the name Clinton never existed. :)

I'm not a big fan of Dick Morris, but I like this video. It's short (not even 3 minutes).

It's more informative that most of the other stuff floating around in the media right now about the Mueller indictment of Manafort.

It's from a man who has played this game close-up before.

And it's tilted in the direction I favor. :)

And Alan Dershowitz weighs in.

He points out that collusion is not even a crime. There are no laws that govern it.

So the whole process is legally marred.

Earlier today, I heard a metaphor I liked and it's a snug comfy fit to Mueller investigating Russian collusion with President Trump.

"Stirring an empty pot."

:)

Legally, Mueller doesn't have a pot to pee in and, as Dick Morris observed, his 4 month budget renewals with such irrelevant results are going to become a serious problem. Fact-wise, there was no collusion between Putin and Trump. That makes it very hard to prosecute anything. Maybe a ham sandwich, but not President Trump...

Here's a very funny take on the Mueller indictments.

And, yes, Jimmy puts up actual articles (in this case from The Chicago Tribune) and Mueller's indictment document and comments on parts he wishes to discuss.

One of the reasons I resonate so much with Jimmy is something he said in the video. He said he was not very intelligent, but had a great bullshit detector. So when he doesn't understand something, he seeks out people smarter than he is and asks them to explain it to him. And if it still doesn't make sense, he keeps asking questions and seeking other smart people until it does.

This is called independent thinking and, to me, it is a fine example of how to go about it. As an aside, I could easily be friends with this guy, even though we hold opposite political views. I think we want the same things, but disagree on how to get them. Jimmy thinks trusting government bureaucrats (one he approves of) to fleece bad guys and give the booty to good guys is the way. I think freedom based on individual rights is and to hell with the government bureaucrats.

And we both see the truth of the old George Carlin joke: It's all a big club and you ain't in it.

The video is very interesting, especially how it details the workings of money laundering (buying high-end real-estate with foreign funds, then taking out a bank loan in the US on the high-end property--voilà!--legal money in US without taxes).

As is obvious, this part is interesting, but has nothing to do with the reason Mueller was appointed and hired.

According to Jimmy Dore, there are two differences between what the Trump people did re Russian collusion and what the Clinton people did.

1. Getting dirt on the political opponent from the Russian government. An aggressive low-level Trump person got jacked on an idea and a lead and tried to pursue it, but ultimately his project got rejected by the Trump higher-ups. However, according to Dore, the documents show that the Trump people would welcome dirt on Hillary Clinton if it came from the Russians. On the Clinton side, they hired a retired English spy to contact the Russian government on their behalf.

2. How opportunities and information were obtained. The Trump people looked at prospective leads that were offered to them, even ones that involved Russia, and picked and chose what to pursue based on input from a variety of advisors. The Clinton people paid for the information coming from the Russian government (about $12 million or more) through intermediaries.

In other words, the big difference was that Clinton paid Russian government people (technically a crime) and Trump did not. The biggest crime of the Trump people was having impure thoughts (as Ron, Jimmy's sidekick, quipped.)

:)

I don't agree with everything this guys says below (I do agree with most), but he sure gives some food for thought and speculation.

I like how he looks at the world events and constantly tries to peg his political views to actual information wedded to a common sense understanding of human nature.

In fact, to me, it's intellectually fun watching him work through his ideas...

Very, very, very interesting...

If it turns out that Mueller is waging a campaign against lobbying for foreign governments in general and not just a witch hunt on President Trump, I will revise my opinion of him.

Fundamentally and ideologically, I agree with what Tucker said at the end to Jonathan Turley (professor of law at the George Washington University Law School). Tucker starts talking about FARA violations. FARA, the Foreign Agents Registration Act from 1938, requires a person to register as a foreign agent if that person represents a foreign government in the US. Everybody working in this manner has to do it, but practically speaking, nobody does, or, at least, they don't do it on time. But this is the law Mueller is nailing Manafort on.

Quote

TUCKER CARLSON: So if FARA violations are basically looked past and you can retroactively file four or five years and call it good, this is an editorial comment but I'm interested in your view, maybe that's one of the reasons DC's so corrupt. Just throwing it out there.

JONATHAN TURLEY (chuckling): Well, you know, when this first happened, I was... when we went into the Russian money, my first response was: Washington's awash with Russian money.

CARLSON: Yes.

TURLEY: And the public are about to see that. This city has a real sordid side to it.

CARLSON: And not just Russian money.

TURLEY: Absolutely. And people do influence peddle. And it's not exclusive to any particular party. And so what I think the Democrats are going to experience with the Republicans is that investigations are a lot like Saturn. They devour their own. And you're going to see an expansion here, clearly, bringing in other people. And the focus does appear by Mueller to be on the lobbying aspect. And you're right. This could actually be a historic... ah... you know... this series of disclosures for the public. I think the public has no idea the level of influence peddling in Washington.

CARLSON: They don't. And I don't care who's swept up in it. If you're working on behalf of a foreign power against American interests, I hope you're exposed. I really do.

TURLEY: Oh, I think they will be.

CARLSON: Good.

The Clinton machine is going down. Big time. A few Trump people might get caught up in it, but I bet far more establishment ruling class Republicans will (and non-Clinton ruling class Democrats, for that matter), if this goes where it promises to go.

Deep State beware. Your own man (Mueller) might have the soul of Saturn and soon it will by your turn, too...

The irony is that this entire investigation was instigated as a dirty trick by the Clinton machine
