It stated: “With the national debt skyrocketing and recession closing out its fifth year, tens of millions of Americans are alarmed by the government’s rapid growth and are demanding that the country change course.” As the authors point out, it is not just the Democrats, but Republicans as well. Even the tea partiers say they want much less government, but offer little indication what they are willing to cut back. — Michael B.
