Jim Hall, R.I.P.

Recommended Posts

The legendary jazz guitarist Jim Hall died last night. Both Chris Sciabarra and I are big fans of his.

This celebrated version of Joaquin Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez also features Paul Desmond and Chet Baker.

Btw, for some time now I have been unable to embed YouTube videos. I used to link the URL, but that doesn't work. I also tried the embed code on the YouTube site, but that doesn't work either. So what am I doing wrong?

George,

I fixed it.

There is probably some setting in an upgrade to use only the YouTube short-codes for automatic embeds.

Look under the video on the YouTube page. You will see...

Some icons

... all on the same line.

Click "Share."

The short-code opens up. Simply copy and paste.

The embed code will only work if you enable HTML in your post, and the hash that results will probably confuse you. Just do the short-code and you are good to go.

To substance, I'm very sorry to hear about Jim Hall. RIP.

Michael
