I just received an e-mail from Debbie Gregg today, informing me that Ken passed away in his sleep early this morning.

R.I.P. Kenneth Roger Gregg.

I am so very sorry. Decent men leave a hole in the world when they go.

I think of a poem I love, by Edna St. Vincnt Millay:

Dirge Without Music

I am not resigned to the shutting away of loving hearts in the hard ground.
So it is, and so it will be, for so it has been, time out of mind:
Into the darkness they go, the wise and the lovely. Crowned
With lilies and with laurel they go; but I am not resigned.

I'm so sorry also. I don't think I ever had any personal correspondence with Ken, but I recall him with fondness from lists I've been on where he posted.

The poem Barbara quoted is one I love too.
