hmmmm.... should I or shouldn't I post it on OL?
It is a very good caricature of John and Yoko and their nude images have been in the public since 1968 on an album cover, in photos, in John's drawings and even on the cover of Rolling Stone. I am used to seeing them in the buff, but is OL ready for Victor's painting of them? Let's take a vote.

I don't give a damn about the Beatles, but if it has something to do with sex I want to see it!

THE BALLAD OF JOHN AND YOKO
Standing in the dock at Southampton,
Trying to get to Holland or France.
The man in the mac said, "You've got to turn back".
You know they didn't even give us a chance.
Christ you know it ain't easy,
You know how hard it can be.
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me.
Finally made the plane into Paris,
Honey mooning down by the Seine.
Peter Brown called to say,
"You can make it O.K.,
You can get married in Gibraltar, near Spain".
Christ you know it ain't easy,
You know how hard it can be.
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me.
Drove from Paris to the Amsterdam Hilton,
Talking in our beds for a week.
The newspapers said, "Say what you doing in bed?"
I said, "We're only trying to get us some peace".
Christ you know it ain't easy,
You know how hard it can be.
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me.
Saving up your money for a rainy day,
Giving all your clothes to charity.
Last night the wife said,
"Oh boy, when you're dead
You don't take nothing with you
But your soul - think!"
Made a lightning trip to Vienna,
eating chocolate cake in a bag.
The newspapers said, "She's gone to his head,
They look just like two gurus in drag".
Christ you know it ain't easy,
You know how hard it can be.
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me.
Caught an early plane back to London.
Fifty acorns tied in a sack.
The men from the press said, "We wish you success,
It's good to have the both of you back".
Christ you know it ain't easy,
You know how hard it can be.
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me.
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me.

Victor -- Interesting story about that song. By that time the the Beatles were doing a lot of their work on their own since Paul especially didn't like Yoko. On this one, Paul actually helped John; he played not only the bass but also the drums -- normally Ringo's job -- and piano. John did acoustic as well as lead guitar -- leaving George off the track as well.

And, of course, Paul also sang harmony.
One of my favorite Beatles records. There's not a dull moment in the song, and the ending is perfect.

The poll is now closed and the painting in question is now up in the
Art Gallery. Since community standards define obscenity in the eyes of the law, I wanted to see if the Objectivist Living community would find something like this unacceptable. Unexpectedly, it was a landslide vote in favor of posting this image. Thanks to all that participated.
