We have a problem here in Britain.
Our socialist government has proposed arbitrary detention of up to 42 days for terrorist suspects (read: anyone) with no evidence required.
They recently pushed legislation supporting that through our lower legislative house with difficulty and under very dubious circumstances.
One of our Opposition MPs, David Davis, the former Shadow Home Secretary (=interior minister) has resigned his seat in Parliament to fight a local election on the issue.
You can read a briefing note at http://www.seangabb....comm/flc172.htm .
Statements of support for Davis would be greatly welcomed, both to the Davis campaign office (firstname.lastname@example.org) and to the British media. Clearly it will help if they show knowledge of the issues and are targeted appropriately at the media concerned. Relevant media include our national (some say biased) broadcaster the BBC (www.bbc.co.uk), the liberal Guardian newspaper (www.guardian.co.uk), the also liberal but rather more independent Independent (www.independent.co.uk), the centrist Times (www.timesonline.co.uk) and the conservative Telegraph (www.telegraph.co.uk).
