The court gave the s.o.b. the full Monty, 150 years in prison. Good! It is good to know there is still some justice in the system. The only way Berny is getting out is horizontally, feet first.

My only regret is that he is not getting solitary confinement in the dark.

Bob,

I doubted you when you first posted about Madoff.

I'm sorry I doubted you...

FYI:

This sentence sends him to a Federal maximum. One of the major reasons that the 12 yr sentence was being argued for so zealously by his attorneys, was that he would be, under the nonsensical federal sentencing, eligible for a medium to minimum security federal prison.

So you may be pleased to know that it is close to that solitary hole with no light.

For stealing that much money, an effective sentence of life in the slammer seems justified.

How much of his stolen proceeds did Mr. Madoff stash away that has yet to be retrieved?

Robert:

Much more importantly is...who assisted him in laundering up to $65,000,000,000.00?

I would believe that there are a dash or two of regulators and legislators, etc. that participated.

And we cannot waterboard him as part of his sentence....why?

This might be a bench mark for a fellow who did the same thing where I live. Although he "only took" $60-100 million dollars, living in a fairly rural area, he has stymied the economy. A lot of half finished projects sitting around. He deserves the same.
