Here's a link to my 1998 review of a book by Daniel Dennett, Darwin's Dangerous Idea.
I'm a psychologist, so the focus of my review is on Dennett's difficulties with accounting for the emergence of cognition via the evolutionary process. IMHO, Dennett is much better at overall explications of biological evolution than at something you would expect him to be especially concerned about, since he is a philosopher of mind.
