It is no longer as Maine goes so goes the nation, but there is a caucus there today...

DAMN - I am good at this! Wasn't more than 5 points off of any of their percentages! My Romney bias shows through.

Romney won by just three points, 39 percent to Ron Paul’s 36 percent. Rick Santorum trailed in third with 18 percent, and Newt Gingrich received 6 percent of the vote.

You are a pretty good predictor.

Reminds me of the famous line at a Manhattan cocktail party of the effete, emotionally crippled left wing drones and the hostess said, "I can't believe that Reagan took all those States, no one that I know voted for him!" It might have been Nixon, but it illustrate how clueless the elites are!

Not you of course... :cool:

Of course not dahling. The Mainers I was thinking of would have voted for John McCain again, whether he was on the ballot or not.

You are not far off the mark. Vietnam scythed the smalltown Maine I knew in my youth. Many of the returning young vets became Democrats to say the least; most became just vets, more or less damaged. And those who did not return - and the grandparents who liked Ike - war heroism is the legacy they know.

There are Democrats in Maine obviously(maybe Stephen King, or tabitha King) but the only one I really know is my cousin David , and he's half Canadian.

Little victories like Maine and CPAC, for Mitt, change the way future state contests are depicted in the media. That is the big news, so to speak: the affect of even a tiny victory. The jubilation of the winning candidate may ensure confidence and more success unless, like Newt, you get overly optimistic and foolishly sound narcissistic and mean after a victory. Victories fulfill the phrase, “What have you done for me lately?”

The Arizona debate is set for ten days from now, Wednesday, February 22nd then we have the Arizona (29 delegates) and Michigan (30 delegates) primaries on Tuesday February 28th.

It was curious to see that CPAC voted for Mitt after the recent Obamacare debacle. I thought that issue would doom Mitt there. Rick Santorum is saying Romney stacked the hall, which is possible. But the issue with the Catholic Church’s Hospitals clearly showed how government mandates can take away basic liberties. Romneycare did the same thing to basic liberties to a lesser extent. But he has come out of the health care mandate issue intact if not unscathed.

I am in awe of how the Socialists shifted who pays for contraception to the insurance companies. What a neat trick. Now it is free, they say, and the Catholic Church does not pay for it. Well, somebody pays for it in higher overall prices AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS STILL PAYING FOR THE OVERALL INSURANCE POLICY THAT SUPPLIES CONTRACEPTION, the morning after pill, and abortion. It is magical accounting. I hope Obama has miscalculated and this hurts him in the voting booth. The church’s spokespeople are saying they know most Catholics use birth control, but most Catholics also see this as an attack on their religious freedom. This is about religious freedom and not about contraception.

The reasons why the abysmal occupant of the White House singled out Catholicism is:

1) to shore up his left wing Catholic supporters;

2) because he misanalysed the strength of the Catholic Church's power;

3) because he thought that the recent "scandals" in the priesthood rendered the Catholic Church impotent to react; and

4) that he thinks that merely because more than half of the Catholics employ birth control as a personal choice that they will not care about the frontal assault on liberty.

This is a major blunder. Now what concerns me is that the Jewish elements do not seem as upset. Moreover, the Muslim elements also seem to be kind of silent. Bad moves on their parts. First they came for.....

One of the first Obama defenders said, “Do you want Sharia law to supercede American Law? Of course not! It is the same thing with the Catholic Church denying the government’s mandated basic right of contraception, to their flocks.”

That trial balloon upset a let of folks so that argument was dropped.

Good exit poll number guessing, Adam. Know any good powerball numbers?
