dennislmay
In my entire life I have not seen a work of fiction that better summarizes theideal of what a man wants in a woman than the character of Saffron playedby Christina Hendricks in the Firefly episode "Our Mrs. Reynolds". Saffronwas just an act but the con worked because she represented the ideal fewmen ever come close to realizing.I actually know a local woman who is very much like the innocent Saffroncharacter - married to her high school sweetheart and just had her thirdkid. One of my female cousins also resembles the ideal. Such womenare extremely rare in our culture. The only time I see the near ideal inpublic is when I see a gaggle of young Mennonite women with their childrenor Mennonite families out with their children at restaurants or Wal-Mart. They are genuinely happy - very much unlike the general populace. There is a lot to be said about how the Marxist views of man/womanrelationships have become indoctrinated into our culture. Feminizingmen - creating masculine agressive women. Somehow along the way Marxistindoctrination has created women who really don't care to be good mothersor good wives. There is a lot of cynicism and poorly raised children asa result.I welcome thoughts on this issue. I have no interest in masculine agressivewomen or those expecting government handouts to fix their lives the firsttime they have an argument with a man. Substance abuse by women trappedin this mindset is rampant - another serious issue leading to poor relationships.Dennis
Bryce
I would be as uncomfortable and conflicted about Saffron as Mal, and acted as he would have until her betrayal. I don't see her as an ideal in any way. She's sexually submissive - that's it (which I'm not holding as virtuous). Otherwise she's naive, dependent, and emotional. If she didn't object, I would've traded her for Vera.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-e-HY69Gb0

dennislmay
...she's naive, dependent... I know lots of women who are naive and believe they are independent - because theydon't need a man - just government assistance.Sugar daddy [big government] is the middle man extacting wealth from men to buyvotes from women.Dennis
