I shot that with a Nikon D4S 16.2 megapixel digital camera. Film costs way to much!

Bob was just dating himself...I barely hold back asking the same question...

I am not ahead of the curve at all. The last camera I owned used film. I never had a digital camera.

Do you have a cell phone Bob?

A small cell phone which only does calls. I keep it turned off and use it mostly for emergencies. I subscribe to Verizon Pay as you call ten cents a minute. One hundred dollars a year covers my cell phone expenses.

Interesting.

I have a cell phone that has pre-paid minutes.

It is cost effective for work and it also has an good digital camera.

However, your phone fits your needs and is cost effective also.

You should borrow a digital camera from a family member.

I would be interested on what "images" you would capture.

I'm pretty sure this magpie is out of minutes!

Nice pic. Great work Jules. Trying to figure out your comment...hmmm. The magpie sounds like a cell phone and got nailed by a hawk right after you took the pic?

We have mockingbirds around here (CA) that make car alarm or cell phone sounds. Pretty funny, just mixed in with all their other mimicry.

Finally! Perfect light conditions. I waited over 3 hours for her to show up. Did some test shots to make sure everything was how I wanted it.

She didn't mess around either, came straight in and within 15 seconds it was all over. She briefly landed on a high perch and was gone to avoid being harrassed by the ravens.

That is astounding.

Thank you!

"Art is a selective recreation of reality . . . . " And why not "selective reality"? Rand never justified her definition. She merely stated it.

--Brant

correct me if I'm wrong--about Rand

The vast portion of the cosmos outside our skins is beyond human power to create, recreate or even alter.... Most of what is is without any help from human agency and very little of what is is subject to human agency... It is a big cosmos we live in and we occupy a teeny, teeny, tiny corner of it. We can not cure the common cold nor can we stop a volcano from erupting. So how much of reality can we "recreate"

With a computer Bob we can create or recreate anything we want. Just look a the movie Avatar. Most of it is computer generated...

Wtf does the cosmos have to do with a bald eagle and a fireworks pic? Art in pictures, not life, the universe and everything.

Where are those pan galactic gargle blasters hidden?

Nobody but you is talking about "how much." How do you justify injecting quantity into the discussion? What does quantity have to do with esthetics?

Running a program creates a succession of states in an automaton. The stars of the cosmos still go their way unperturbed.
