This Was Painful to Listen To

 

I just listened to an 8 minute audio of a phone call where a guy wanted to cancel his Comcast service and the Comcast representative hammered him with the hard sell.

 

It was painful.

When I was staying at my parents house in Florida several years ago, my mother wanted to cancel her AOL service. As she was suffering from Alzheimer's, I took care of it. I went through a conversation with an AOL representative just like this guy did. Except at the end, I was not nearly as polite. 

 

I managed to embed the audio of the phone call mentioned in the story.

 

 

Ironically for me, in another version of this story on TheBlaze (see here), they mentioned that the victim, Ryan Block, is an AOL product manager. What goes around comes around, I guess...

 

And to cap it off, I currently use Comcast.

 

I'm screwed.

All those years of listening to mind-numbing heavy metal did not prepare me for this...

I currently work as a sales associate and I've met people who are like this representative. Working with them isn't very fun. Type A personality to the extreme.

I don't know how this guy stayed so patient for so long, I would have lost it. He should have just have hung up and called again and would have got a different comcast rep.
