TIPS: Treasury Inflation Protection Securities

In the "Judge Napolitano Money" topic, Wolf Devoon posted a video on inflation. It was nice, nothing new, but later n article on Reuters Finance jumped off the display at me:

So I looked them up and found them on a US Treasury website:

So, apparently, the Treasury puts more principal into the bond for you (based on CPI) before it pays interest.

It reminds me of the courtroom scene in Woody Allen's Bananas: "... a sham of a fraud of a fraud of a sham..."
