executor
While on this forum i found out about a site called solo passion. They seem to have been a major site in the past but other then frequent blog posts they seem dead. Their forum appears to have once been active but in most categories it has been over a year since the last post. Their site design is outdated and many of the links are broken. I created an account, but the forums and blogs seem locked to new users. Surprisingly the blogs seem still active even though the rest of the site seems dead. Does anyone know what happened? william.scherk
If the emperor of SOLOpassion had set out with a goal of driving his audience down to nothing in five years, he could not have done better. He took what followers and interest were his share of SOLO/Rebirth of Reason, drove away the reasonable, banned the contrarians, tolerated kooks, turned on his own allies, and just generally stunk up his own party. Brant Gaede
The owner of the site got run over by a 2 1/2 ton truck called Michael Moeller last fall and never recovered. He used to chortle about how Moeller "Moellered" people then he got the treatment when he got completely stupid about the Kennedy assassination. That's my take. His costs and boredom may have been factors. He shut it down then partially reopened it. I can sign in, for instance, but I can't do anything like put up a comment. Why some others can, I haven't a clue.Rebirth of Reason, from which it was birthed in late 2005, is dying on the vine. Its owner uses a different metric to drive people away or kick them out. If you combine Objectivism with Valium, that's R of R.--Brant

Michael Stuart Kelly
Executor,There's a lot I could say and there is plenty of information already online here on OL (and elsewhere) about the misbehavior of Lindsay Perigo. And once again, here we go talking about that loser. Here, type the following into Google and enjoy yourself:"Lindsay Perigo" site:objectivistliving.comBut I'll give you the short version:Narcissistic personality disorder + craving to be an Objectivist guru + vanity grudges + foul mouth = Perigo.Bully disguised as Randian rebel. It didn't work out. However, don't go by what I say. If you are interested in learning more about him, I recommend you do your own homework and come to your own conclusions. There's plenty of stuff to look at.Who knows? Maybe you will like him. God knows he needs another friend. He's run out of those he had, except for a tiny group of hardcore toadies.Michael

syrakusos
I no longer can tolerate your anti-man, anti-reason, anti-life, range of the moment, whim-worshipping, context-dropping endorsements of moral equivalency. I hereby ban you from my life. But I will come back every now and then to continue the argument. I call this "Nose-Punching Objectivism" my total involvement in bringing reason to the world. It worked really well in Patagonia where I had a late-night call-in radio show that was heard as far away as Montevideo. I also published an online newsletter called "You Stupid Cows" but I am moving it to a server in the USA soon. Once it is up, I am going to play a 50-50 mix of my commentaries on the news along with the Greatest Broadway Hit Songs, Famous Opera Arias, and the Top Performances by Liberace. I invite everyone to come in for an open, frank, and honest engagement on all issues, based on respect and admiration for me.

Selene
Michael -- Well, I don't know what aspie means or who Bob is.Probably did not look it up.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_syndromehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_syndrome. aspieAn aspie is one who has Asperger's Syndrome, which is believed to be part of the autism spectrum. Aspies, while being quite gifted verbally, have social, emotional, and sensory integration difficulties, among others. Aspie is an affectionate term, and is not meant as a put down.My son is an aspie, so he's not so great at making idle chit chat at parties, or even at being in crowds, but he can get us home from anywhere. He says he just consults the map in his brain. That took five (5) minutes.A...
BaalChatzaf
Aspies may constitute 1 - 2 percent of the population. They are frequently found in the computer and software industry. One of the better articles on the condition can be read at http://archive.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aspergers.htmlThere is a similarity between Nerds and Aspies, however Nerds are most likely neuro-typical (i.e. normal).Aspies divide the word into two major pieces: Aspie and NT which is short for neuro-typical. Aspies have always been part of the human scene. Back in the days when the Cro Mags dwelt in caves in any Cro Mag gathering there would be one person who would rather chip flints for spears and arrows than socialize. The normals would sazy -He is strange but he makes good points and our hunters use them to kill a lot of game. Don't distract him. Then their was the weirdo in the cave who wasn't much of a talker but constantly drew animal pictures on the walls. And so it went....Ba'al Chatzaf

Michael Stuart Kelly
Michael -- Well, I don't know what aspie means or who Bob is.Kyrel,Others told you about aspie.Bob is Ba'al. His real name is Bob Kolker. We are gradually humanizing him here on OL. (I joke, but he's in my heart and he knows it. )And just to answer the toady business, when I made my quip, I forgot that, for some damn reason (probably the dehumanizing language you use to describe those you disagree with) Perigo likes you. So you have been able to post there recently. But you display none of that Perigo insider lockstep of the toadies around him. Think of how you envision ARI insiders--you have been quite vocal about what you perceive as a cult culture. With SLOP toadies it's the same cake with foul mouth mixed in and different icing.Michael
